Toronto had 110 elevator rescues...the subways were cleared within an hour...regular civilians were conducting traffic (cuz some idiots dont realize when there are no lights its a 4way stop)...cops were handing out vest, water and whistles to these make shift traffic lights lol...over all everyone helped each other out...there was a bit of looting at night nothing major...restaurants/cafes were giving food away for cheap...hot dog vendors were sold out of everything lol...I'm actually surprised that Toronto didn't turn into a horror scene like some other times in the past...I'm glad life is somewhat back to normal 🙂

110 elevator rescues - i imagined there'd be more but thats good that everyone's safe.

gina when has toronto been a "horror scene", do the '99 snowstorms count?

99 snow storm lmfaoooooooo the army was called in 😛
queens park anti-poverty protest which turned out into an all out riot
when the leafs with 1 play off game *rolls eyes* lol
when the italians or portuguese win 1 world cup/euro cup game *rolls eyes* lol
a few yrs ago when there was that teachers strike and all the students went to Queens Park and rioted
and when that anti-poverty group protests...they always close down the city and riot and trash everything
so i am SHOCKED nothing major happened

Glad to know that everyone's okay.

I FINALLY got through to Freddie last night. :yeey I called him while I was in Florida! :whistle

I love my cell phone! When it works that is! :lol

Well here in Manhattan, there were parties everywhere. Emergency generators outside so the people can have cook outs, play cards, dominos, drink, listen to music, etc. They did it right here in the complex where I live and both my sons 18 & 19 yrs. old were out there. It was just to hot to be inside. 🙂

:wave HI EVERYONE! I'M FINALLY BACK!

I had such an ordeal the day of the blackout. My job is 15 minutes away from Brooklyn, I'm right over the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge. I got stuck on a bus going to Brooklyn for 5 1/2 hours. Being on the bus wasn't so bad, but not being able to communicate with my kids and family was the worst feeling ever!!! And that was only half of my adventure that day, now I had to get to Queenz!!! The only thing that I could do at that time was call my dad to come pick me up! I was so scared cause I was in the projects with no lights and everyone was outside, I have never exprienced anything like that before!! Thank goodness, that I was with a co-worker of mine and she stayed with me until my dad picked me up!!

My son was so worried about me, he kept tellin my mom that "Its dark, and my mommy not home....my mommy is dead!!" Can you imagine hearing this from a 4 year old??!! He wouldn't go to sleep until he saw me, he fell out of exhaustion -- when I got home he awoke and told me that he was sooooooo happy that I wasn't dead and gave me a kiss and a huge hug!!!

But I hope that this shyt doesn't happen again!!
