Yo Orgntr1, who you calling OLD? LOL, I'm 31 I grew up listening to Temptations, Supremes, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Styx, Cheap Trick, Kiss, Machine, Gary's Gang, Amy Grant, Rod Stewart, Village People, Metallica, Slayer, Rob Base, Erik B & Rakim, Too Short, NWA, Tigres Del Norte, Ice T, Divine, Kreator, Sepultura, Fast Eddie, White Knight all by 86. It's 2001, I love Korn, Synthia Figueroa, Dr Dre, Eminem, Rosalinda, Linkin Park, Los Originales De San Juan, Chalino Sanchez, Deicide, Rosalinda....... I love all the new music, I refuse to get old. P.S. My son is 14, my daughters are 12, 11 & 10 & they love Underground Disco from the '70s, '80s Funk, '80s to 2001 Freestyle plus Nsync, J-Lo Destiny's Child, Eminem, 504 Boyz, Cash Money, George Centeno, Richard Vission, Progressive Music to Hard House. I guess I believe in the sayin' "If It's Too Loud, You're Too Old", in this case "If It's Too Progressive, You're Too Old". Truthfully, that is my greatest fear is to look old. Like I said, I'm 31 & I am forever & a day mistaken to be my son's brother. I think it has alot to do with the people you hang around with also. The next oldest person I kick it with is 24, after him there's a couple of 21 year olds & the rest are all 16-19 year olds (Keep In Mind these are my friends not my son's....LOL) Peace!
 
lol when i go clubbin they still think im like 20-21, i asked 3 girls that last weekend . hehe .. But to be honest also my friends are all like 19-23 but im older than them, and its all good cause all i listen 2 is whats on radio today .. I have to, its my career, but i love it anyways, hehe
 
Hey Willie, what some of us are asking is that you have a few Old School style songs. If the Progressive stuff sells, it wouldn't hurt the CD to have 2 or 3 tracks with the classic sound, if everything else is progressive. That way you're closer to pleasing all your fans.

Parade 4 was one of your best. "Only You" and "You Were Meant For Me" are timeless. I think those songs are well-known and well-received by many Freestylers. I personally like almost every track on the CD.

I probably don't know what I'm talking about, but changing your distributer/parent record company from MicMac to DMD might've hurt sales. I see Parade 1, 2, and 3 in online record stores, but not 4. I always see Pure Pleazure's "I Need You Now", but not "Past & Present" either.
 
I don't think alot of people support Freestyle like they say they do. I have bought alot of compilations and to think I was only 1 in 3000 that purchased a compilation is sad. I guess people are downloading everything for free not caring if some of these freestyle artists and producers or companies make it or not. Stores here in Chicago don't carry freestyle because they tell me that noone is putting out any freestyle, which is all bull, and I tell them that. I tell them I either order online or through the record companies. I know there are alot of fans of Freestyle, but, again, it just seems like alot of people support it like they used to!
 
Jason when I left micmac they were selling the same amount on parade volume 3. it didnt sell good either. DMD was artistik. it was my other company I started. I stopped it because I had a partner that did help me at all. I do put some old school style songs pn every comp I do to please the old school fans. I never do a complete new school type of compilation. Ands thanks for the compliments on parade 4. I kinda like that one myself. LOL

it surprises me that the sales suck the way they do...but maybe its a matter of finding the cd's. i went to tower the other night and looked for freestyle i found 5 cds. none were artistik....i bought 4 out of the 5. now here's what i think since everybody on here is soooooooo into freestyle then they should all buy a cd. wha there are almost 1000 members make it available on here like mail order or somethin.. i don't know... whatever.. let me just say make it available and i'll buy it...even if i don't like it(i didn't listen yet)...cause its all about keepin the freestyle pride alive.............

Hey Willie & Randy: a couple of things I would like to say about Nyasia's song... 1st of all I like the lyrics and the vocal arrangement definitely. As for the beat, I could hear certain famous Artistik elements in the background. Kinda sounds like you sampled a part of one of Nyasia's old songs for certain elements. The beat was ok since I'm into SOME of the West Coasts sounds. It definitely sounds like Randy worked on it since you could hear the West Coast riffs in there. I'm not sure if it's a smash or trash though. I hardly ever check that section out anyway since I'm usually disappointed. But I love the lyrics and the beat is ok for the song. Great change for Nyasia huh? But Hey Randy i like your Galaxy comps. man. I keep listening to them in order for me to get that new skool sound in me. I'm starting to like it! As for Willie, I like the song and I know the rest of the album is gonna be slammin like the rest.

One more thing Willie, I hate the fact that I can't find Freestyle Madness anymore since it's discontinued. My lil cousin used my only copy as frisbee and it's no longer with us anymore. Well thats life huh?
 
Well Nyasia congrats on the outcome so far on smash or trash on your new song TRUE LOVE. We all know not everyone is gonna like our stuff. But thats cool. We have been in the business for a long time and we know how the music business works. I just wanna say thanks to everyone for giving a listen and thanks for expressing you feelings on Nyasia's new song.
