Booo hooo Party 92.7fm is gone in the Bay Area.. It is call the 2 Pac staion all day 2 Pac.. WTF. I wonder how long that is gonna last. I really like that station even thought the repeat the songs over and over but it was dance music and they played some freestyle. Well, it is back to Wild 949 I hope they play more dance/freestyle cuz it is never gonna be the same without 92.7.

That sucks big time, I heard it yesterday, and I was listening to the station and they were bumping tupac, and I was like WTF!!!! Don't get me wrong , I love that homie Tupac, but on the dance station... I don't think so ...So anyways.... I guess your right, we have to depend of 94.9 and wait for the Wild work out at noon, or the traffic mixes. KMEL always plays BAMMER music so the hell with them.

Yeah, I had my radio locked on 92.7 too. Even Though it was variety dance, I really enjoyed it. Wild 94.9 needs to kick things up , cuzz the freestyle mixes in need of a up grade and they only play it at noon. Milpitas Has a pirate station 92.3 , and they play lots of freestyle , and KSJS Is San Jo Plays Freestyle on tuesdays. Oh Well, What Else is new. :realsad

damn it.. I have to move to Milpitas or San ho to listen to freestyle shit..lol At least they have better weather than Daly City.

I guess that's good for Wild 94.9! I hope they last, even though I'll never live in California. They would have less reason to play dance music on Wild if 92.7 stayed around, and from the looks of things, I don't know what they are planning to do with their station (wild), because I look at their website and the wild workout at noon, house nation playlist, and any dance music that they still might play (if any) is no longer represented on their playlist. We have Energy 92.7 here so now I guess kissfm decided that they don't need any dance - none at all in their top 40 playlist! (I am very angry at 104.7kissFM) and Power 92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b decided that they no longer want to do their power workout @ noon. If we loose Energy 92.7/101.1 then it will be a very sad state here in Arizona - No dance! If we loose Power 92.3 we have no hip hop! Yes 104.7kissFM tried to be hard for a while and tried to hang with hip hop & r&b as much as they could, but they were unsuccessful and went back almost as top 40 as they were before they went rhythmic, then urban rhythmic. We already lost 103.9, finally for the last time so no more hip hop, dance & r&b on one station. 103.9 the party was the best! 105.3 Que Buena was good also, but of course no longer exists! If we could have just kept all these stations the same and added Energy, that would be perfect. It's stupid that 104.7 wants to go back to top 40 bringing back some pop and top 40 hits from the past, but just intentionally leave out any dance music/artists! They cannot argue with me that Kylie Minogue is not in the top 40 or that "they don't play it because no one has ever requested it before! When they do mix, they'll play "toxic" by Britney Spears, then change the speed of the music or mix into something half the speed of it - no dance music at all - not even mixed live from the club. I guess they have a 2 hour mix from 4 to 6a.m. Saturday and Sunday morning but that doesn't count because most people I assume for some reason aren't hearing it. If I were to listen to anything early Sunday Morning it would be Power 92.3 - from 2a.m. - 5a.m., when they do project grooves; trance, breaks, house, and now drum & bass in the mix. Energy has their mix shows, but it's mostly all house or trance because they are not really too interested in anything else. Energy also owns Mega 99.3/104.3 which is jammin' classic R&b, and they may play a few classic freestyle jams during the mix and on freestyle friday, like Stevie B... but nothing with extra sounds like Angelina, Jocelyn, and Planet Soul. I just cannot get over 104.7 KissFM not playing any dance at all! If it's going to be this way then they should have just stayed "hard" and kept up their 'certain hip hop & r&b' playlist. They completely threw out Daniel Beddingfield, Lasgo, Dirty Vegas, Gigi D'Agostino, Sonique and things like that. Those are strictly top 40 and they can't tell me it's not or people never heard of it before because these artists are artists that they USED to play, and could have brought back with the rest of their Jessica Simpson songs and stuff like that... Well I guess I shouldn't really complain because I've noticed that they never brought back P!NK - oooooooooh but that must because she had one up-tempo hit! The same discrimination they are giving to Kylie because her previous songe were dance hits! I guess they figure that if they just completely not add an artist with a dance hit or faster song to their playlist, then there will be no excuse to play any dance music because they simply don't play any songs by that artist. "red blooded woman" by Kylie is not dance music, but they wont play it even though it's a top 40 hit because they know that if they do, then they will also have to play all her other songs that have reached the top 40.(If they don't it would almost be like a hip hop station not playing any 50 Cent songs because they choose not to play any eastcoast hip hop, then start playing the latest one because it had a westcoast beat!) We do have Energy 92.7/101.1, but everytime I hear about a station playing freestyle it's like a dream to me because here in Arizona I don't know about that. The closest I've been to freestyle on the radio was the power workout at noon - which no longer exists. They did have some exclusives there but our fight to get more freestyle artists like Jesika, Christina Marie, Mon A Q, and S.F. Spanish Fly...etc. didn't work. Just wait until I get my chance on a station to be a guest d.j. - I will surely throw many people way off. KissFM has this new commercial for a mix show they do Friday nights live from the club with house/dance music in the back ground and Rhythmcentric "you don't have to worry" was in it but the actuall club mix sounds nothing like it! www.1047kissfm.com

Well, It isn't 2 Pac Radio Anymore.... It is called Power 92.. Dam R&B station. Like we really need another r&B station like KMEL. At least they could of gave us a top 100 station like they had 95.7 or even a Freestyle station like that is ever gonna happen. Oh well, back to listening to my old freestyle tapes and cd and maybe I will bust out with one of my NKOTB albums..lol. Since I can't find any new freestyle cd's in the stores.. and I don't want to buy them online and I know people don't downlod them so people can burn them. Oh well.. It is over for party music...

I said the closest I've ever been to freestyle on the radio was during the power workout @ noon on Power 92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b - I was wrong. I forgot about 103.9 the party, or as it was called before it changed formats 3 times because of the program director, 103.9 Arizona's party station! It started all old school, mixing a whole bunch of freestyle nonstop with old school hop hop. Then they changed to rhythmic hip hop & r&b with freestyle in their mix shows. After it changed to rock and hip hop keeping selected songs in mix shows playing the exact same songs mixed in different orders every weekend. Then they just took out the hip hop and left the rock and alternative and removed the mix shows. The mix shows came back only playing certain rock songs. Then they decided to change to pop (only playing certain pop songs over and over again) which down the line hip hop was slowly added. After a while the pop was completely removed and dance and some freestyle replaced it. Angelina's old songs from first album only was played (not including without your love) even though her second album was out. Some classic Stevie B. was played. A little bit of Ecstacy was also played but set-u-free was almost never heard. I do both Jay & Jane never made the regular playlist and it seemed like they tried to play it the least possible amount of times during mix shows. It was always cut a verse short also. Masquerade by Science was not played on the party, however, 104.7 which was still REAL top 40 at the time started playing it even though I never heard about it anywhere else - not even on the power workout at noon. I begged 103.9 to play Adriana for the longest time until one day they played it (until tomorrow) right out of release me remix by Angelina. They ended their mix show with it and that was the first and last it's ever been played on that station. The power workout @ noon was taken away for the first time on power 92.3. 103.9 the party station was bought out finally for the last time by 106.3 the edge, which was also bought out from their area by a spanish station giving them no choice but to either not exist or take away the party. 104.7 KissFM decided... to change to KissFM, leave top 40 format to a rhythmic top 40 playlist, playing top 40 pop r&b and hip hop songs, and whatever alternative was in the top 10. (this happened a short while before 103.9 died). Power 92.3 after a while decides to remove the power workout at noon and changes it to the old school at noon - oldschool meaning hip hop only, nothing over 115 bpm. The power workout is brought back after about a year. Energy 92.7 is born a few months later! 104.7 tries to go hard and starts removing their pop, dance and alternative from their playlist slowly thinking no one will notice and tries to be hip hop & r&b under the KissFM name and company. (I knew it couldn't last). As this takes place, 104.7 decides to take away the 12 oclock mix show they had and and replaces it with old shool. (The same exact day the power workout at noon was taken away (again 2nd time) from power and is also changed to old school!) ........... time passes by and they decided to do a 3 day nonstop mix on 104.7 KissFm for the superbowl weekend. That was the hardest they were because they invited many d.j.'s and some played extra real hip hop songs that they were not playing. Little did anybody know that after that weekend, the pop and alternative songs would slowly sneak back in and the slogan would change. First it was No Doubt, later Jessica Simpson. Justin Timberlake was brought back --- and now I've realized that the only thing missing was any dance music! I asked them what was up and told them about Angel City, Ingrid, and Lasgo and their excuse was no one ever requested it before - I was the first to do so and they've never heard of it. I told them about the KissFm's in other states playlist and they didn't care. It didn't matter to them that those songs were in the top 40. Even if they had an argument to that, they can't argue that after bringing back some past top 40 songs they used to play that Daniel Beddingfield, Alice DeeJay, Lasgo, and people like that where also top 40 hits! We all know Kylie was strictly top 40! I know there are currently 1 or less dance hits on the rick dees weekly top 40, but they threw that program out a long time ago. Hollywood Hamilton's rhythm countdown was tried on 2 stations and let go, so we currently have no top 40 countdown shows here except for Casey Casum on K-lite 98.7 f.m. which is lite rock music.

Power 92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b is about to play some freestyle for their old school, lowrider oldies show, 5- 8 p.m. on Sundays - which is mixed the last 30 minutes of the show during the aquanet set - but no progressive freestyle or anything like Angelina sound. After that it's Pocos Pero Locos - Latin hip hop at it's finest!

They should not base their decisions solely on research because if dance music isn't heard, then no one will request it, people will not look for and purchase what they don't know, and not enough people will know about it so it will seem like no one wants it. It's known all over Arizona that people here will only like what ever the t.v. and radio tells them is hot - just go to the clubs here and any d.j. will tell you that. You can play a brand new song you think is hot but nobody will dance to it - even if it will soon be the biggest hit of the year, but as soon as radio or video gets it, everyone will request it. Most people wont like certain songs or continue listening to a c.d. if a song they don't know unless they know it's a radio hit. I don't know if this is how it is nationwide, but that's how it is strictly here, and even my 2 sisters, ages 16 and 14, are suffering with this! They wont like a song until the t.v. or radio starts playing it over and over, then they'll start to like it so with me being a d.j. we kind of fight over what music is listened to in the car. They only want top 40 hits - if one song on the c.d. is unrecognizable, it's back to the radio or skipped by them, and that song will never be known unless it becomes a top 40 hit. I have a list of songs they hated first then liked when they found out it was a hit because I got music very early. B2k is a very good example - I had it months before it came out and they hated them for the longest time. After some time they were dyeing to get the c.d. from their friends and began to fight over who keeps the c.d. at ni........... I should rather say in general.
They hated Outkast's songs until Mtv and kissfm told them it was big. When KissFM went hard and tried to be r&b and Hip Hop, they didn't like rock anymore. Now they like it again! This research doesn't really work sensibly or accurately because there is a lot of music that people would like only if they knew about it. Play freestyle over and over again and you'll see people will start to like it - I've actually tried it without even realizing it and it worked! Also when Power 92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b played some hardcore house or whatever it was for the first time during their project grooves show, this man called in and said he liked it and never heard it before - then asked what was it. Now he listens. He didn't know he liked it before because he didn't know what it was. The same thing with them beginning to play drum & bass. Even in Tucson, their top 40 station, 93.7 Krq plays some dance music or at least mixes it live unlike Phoenix's 104.7 KissFM. I appreciate Energy 92.7 doing what they're doing, but it doesn't help that it has a week signal in Phoenix, so even less people will know about it, and the other classic r&b station, 99.3/104.3 which they also own is more known and advertised. I've talked to many people who don't even know Energy 92.7 exists here in Arizona, but know that Hot 97 is a station in new york! They play quite an amount of dance on Energy, but the station isn't big enough for people to think "hey, they are playing it, it must be a hit!" Even with Daniel Beddingfield about a year ago, Energy started playing it way before KissFM, but it didn't pick up until KissFM got it in their rotation. I don't really know what Atlanta is like right at this exact moment, but I know when I lived there, there was no house or dance, none what so ever (with exception of Gina G, Real Mccoy, Amber, No Mercy and stuff like that.) No freestyle music at all (with exception to Summertime summertime by Corina from So So Def recordings) and Mighty Dub Kats was not played. No one knew who Angelina, Planet & Soul, Jocelyn Enriquez, Stevie B., and people like that were. The only up-tempo music they played was Booty Bass music (which was very very big there) mostly in their mix shows. I remember at first many people hated Corina's "summertime summertime" before they liked it - and it was liked because they kept playing it. I tried to introduce many people to freestyle and house but they wouldn't accept it....... long story. I know now they have newer stations, one being a real top 40 station for a change that has at leat the top 40 dance hits, and 95.5 the beat, where they do at least mix some freestyle during the Saturday night mix live from the club from 9 - 1a.m. which also includes trance, hip hop and r&b. www.955thebeat.com is a rhythmic station with whatever alternative or pop is in the top 10 added to their playlist. You will see that they play a whole lot more dance than our KissFM here in Phoenix - and yes, you will wonder how that could be when you see the songs they play. www.955thebeat.com - Ooops! I just missed 21 of the 30 minute freestyle mixshow on Power 92.3 while typing all this! I guess I'll just have to wait until next Sunday.... Oh well. www.power923.fm

dance music isnt tooken seriouse by the public, its like they think people only listen to dance when they at clubs and partys. they cant imagine us bumping dance on our way to work. I think its the most under rated genre out there. But Its our faults too, the voice of dance music only exsists on web threads and magizene articles so we got what was comming. We need to speak up and represent.

HOW MANY MORE SHITTY RAP/HIPHOP/R&B stations do we need???????? hate to break it to u but that is what is selling look at mtv the ads and so for hip hop / r&b are not going away any time soon

thats sad, but than again I always beleived there was more evil in the world, than good.Which is evident in the popularity of RAP/HIP HOP=pure devils music.

------> _...that is NOT fair! I am listening to Atlanta's Q100.5 live on the net RIGHT NOW and they are playing everything I had wished for the entire 6 years I lived there! When I was there, Arizona had all the good freestyle on the most popular station! Now that I'm here, Atlanta suddenly wants station(S!) that play breakbeat and freestyle remixes! I can't believe it! When I went to visit Atlanta back in 2001 when Q100 was new and 95.5the Beat was fairly new, they were very limited with their dance music even in mixshows! Now I look at their website for the 12 0 clock Cardio Radio and listen to Saturday Night Q and......... I just cannot believe it! I suffered and was tormented there when I tried to introduce this hip hop city to freestyle when I went to school there. Now listen to them! www.q100atlanta.com I thought 95.5 the beat was all that but Q100 just blew them away like whoa! If this is just Saturday Night Q, I can't wait to see what electroniQ sounds like! it's only nine o clock as I listen two the station now, the second hour of their mix and I just cannot speak anymore because I've become speechless. (I've also become typeless, so I can no longer type so I'm logging out!) ...........unbelievable!

Atlanta has finally got some sence and is coming up. I guess all that booty bass they had before blocked out all the dance and freestyle. Now that Booty bass has died, Something had to replace it at those clubs they are mixing live from. As I write this, they are now playing a commercial about After Q, which comes after ElectroniQ, which comes after what I'm listening to now!, Saturday Night Q! ElectroniQ is from 2:00a.m. to 5😱o a.m.! I am so angry at 104.7 Kiss FM here in Arizona now that they have decided not to play dance music at all now! They used to play some in their top 40 and even their general mix shows and began at 9😱o p.m. both friday and saturday night's, playing some in those mixshows. Then at 1 o clock, it was all dance until 4 o clock in the morning for club kiss afterhourz. Then at 4a.m., after-afterhourz kicked in until 6a.m., which was all trance, and this was in addition to Energy92.7/101.1 all dance station also playing and Power 92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b doing the power workout at noon, and aftahourz from 1 - 4a.m.! (this is how it used to be!) When dance music gets played that much and is on all the popular stations in addition to a station that caters to it, people accept it more because their being told that it's in, it's cool, and there are more requests for it so it gets played more. _________The commercials are now done. I was expecting to maybe here some hip hop or maybe Maroon 5 or something like that - NOPE! right back into dance music... ans THIS IS ATLANTA THAT THIS IS COMING FROM! If things were the same as when I used,..... I repeat, USED! to live there, I would have never known that Benny Benassi existed! I am in so much disbeleif that I can no longer be speechless, but at the same time I just don't want to talk about it...................... Everybody says dance music is dying, but I guess in Atlanta, it is totally the opposite. - Maybe they're just trying to make up for all the time they had missed, who knows... They may not have an all dance music station there yet, but I'm surely hearing a lot more breakbeat/freestyle like music there tonight than I hear here in a whole week! - and I've listened so far only for about 51 minutes....... enough said. It sounds like "spin spin sugar" is coming on next.. and it is! This station is off the heezy fo' sheezy (like 92.7 likes to say here in Az.) and ity's not even the station that introduced me to the China Dolls for the first time when I lived in Atlanta! I might as well stop writing and stop not believing what I'm hearing because it still wont change the situation. They got the Booty Bass, the breakbeats, some freestyle, the dirty south / bounce music, real hip hop & r&b, trance, house, I just want to say I'm very happy for the people in Atlanta right now.

I remember when coming to Az. was the BIG excitement for me for getting to hear freestyle on the radio, and I thought Im was in heaven. Then after I arrived to heaven, my next even bigger excitement was going to California - I was having orgasms just listening to the radio. Now it seems like that's all over. Maybe I should just move back to Atlanta, and live their until it becomes home to me like Phoenix is now because one thing I do know is that the stations there do not really change once they come to be what they are. (with exception to Q100 playing even more and more dance) _ Once again commercials are done, and the house/breakbeats are back! - and did I mention that the mix started at 8 o clock?! I missed the first hour thinking they wouldn't & couldn't dare go that long and find myself logging into the middle of a mix show.

Yeah , But one thing about "Da ATL" is This. The black folks be bumpin the 808 (FREESTYLE / PLANET ROCK BEAT) for years, but throwing rap on it. 69 Boyz, hmmm, whats dat dude who sings "The DiP" , and gangs of others that I cant name because I simply dont give a shit about that music, But I am Aware of it. For a While Texas Was doing it and of Course MIAMI BOOTY BASS, again just freestyle with rap on it.

I am currently listening to ElectroniQ... I guess, because the Saturday Night Q people all said goodbye, and now there is just house music in the mix but no one speaking. This is unbelievable that dance music, and a whole lot of breakbeat and new current hip hop being played in a breakbeat fashion! I heard "i do both Jay & Jane", "sweetdreams", "dirt off your shoulder", "the way you move", "baby boy" by Beyonce and Sean Paul, "suga suga" by Baby Bash all in a breakbeat fashion. I wonder where he found those remixes. I was about to see what 95.5 the beat was doing but couldn't get off Q100. They started with hip hop during the first hour I missed because I didn't expect them to start at 8p.m. Then they went into breakbeats for about half an hour, then trance and house for about 2 hours and a half, then a whole lot of funky breaks. They switched back to hip hop for a short while and I used that time to get off the internety for a short while to ask a girl out. I was mad because her cell phone died in the middle of a conversation, I tried calling back, got a message twice and thought maybe I should wait for her to call back, but at the same time I forgot that Q100 started a little hip hop set and for some reason thought they were playing dance so I said "the hell with it" and decided Q100 was more important. It took me a while to log back in. Then I remembered that I got off to make a call because a hip hop section was on so I logged back off thinking she might call back. I thought about it for a while and realized it wasn't worth it because I could wait (since she never calls back when she says) and miss more songs that I didn't know where being played in the ATL., possibly even my future favorite song. I got back on and noticed they were already inside a house music set. I just got done telling the station how good they are doing and that the next time I go out on a date, I might take her to Atlanta for a weekend from Phoenix, Az. and not go out Saturday night because I don't want to miss the mix show. If we went out, we would have to stick to the drive trhrough because I wont want to leave the car while Q100 was playing or walk in the restaurant or movie theater with an am/fm discman so I wouldn't miss anything. As I was telling them this, I heard them mention that they are mixing live from a club and told them, "maybe I could take her out after all..." Q100 is doing very well for a top 40 station! They came in better than our 104.7KissFM when they did play nonstop dance from 1a.m. to 6a.m. Saturday nights. I also mentioned when they played "I do both Jay & Jane" that it's making me feel like I should move back. I was ridiculed for being a black person in Atlanta playing music that wasn't black, but after a while they all came to know that I wouldn't change, they had to put up with it no matter how much they complained, and that what I was playing was very similar to their bass music, just with extra rhythm and melody. I just couldn't understand back then why they would play booty bass but no house if there is booty house and that people could "get crunk" to it if it was all mixed right and sounded tight. If "summertime summertime" by Corina made it, I don't see why Lil Suzy, Angelina, Planet Soul, and Jocelyn didn't get played. There were some things that almost sounded just like freestyle but without the extra sounds or just had rap or urban sounding vocals. "My boo" by Ghosttown D.J.'s is a perfect example. Quad City d.j.'s sounded like they kind of wanted to have a borderline betwen freestyle and bass. Luke's latest song does have that electronic sound in a freestyle beat fashion, following the same pattern as the planet rock beat, although the song itself doesn't have a planet rock beat, but has a lot more beats and different sounds in it which would be a freestyle song if Luke didn't rap and someone sung over it. I just haven't heard it anywhere and I think it's also safe to say he might not be releasing anything new anytime soon if it's on the bass tip.
