_ah.............as I was typing this, I just missed some dance music on the gay 104.7 KissFM... I had to go get some ketchup from the store, turned on the radio and heard "baby got back" and stopped in the middle of the road in disbeleif. I was wondering what would come next and a house beat came in - toxic remix! I know this isn't much but it's a start - something that before they would have never played, just the original version of toxic and back to hip hop or maroon 5 and Jessica Simpson or JoJo. I'm not even sure if they played a whole set of dance because I came in during the last two songs, but I have two more hours to find out something, and maybe the afterhourz mixshow may play more dance. KissFM's Saturday night club commercials do advertise with house and Rhythmcentric's song in the background. Right now on ElectroniQ (on Atlanta's Q100) "journey of love" (south beats mix) is being played! - And a whole lot of breakbeats. You can tell I'm doing nothing but sitting here listening because I just can't believe it or stop typing.
 
Memorial day is coming up - the official start of summer and summertime partying - another excuse for stations here in Phoenix to change, so I wont complain too much just yet. Maybe Energy 92.7 will do it's all weekend mix (that it's known for around this time of year) and that's possibly when they will "secretly" bring back all their mixshows that they took away. I already know that Power92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b will kick off their all mix weekend summer by also mixing live all weekend (Friday starting at 5 and ending at 10 o clock Monday night) and mix entire weekends until Labor Day. KissF.M,.... Yeah, each year it's something. I already heard them mentioning their foam pool party, and if it's what I remember, I guess they will mix live all weekend or make it a back in the day weekend with Power 92.3 doing the exact same thing, I wont be surprised if they both do a back in the day weekend like they did for thanksgiving which kind of sucked. Last summer was horrible when KissFM decided to do back in the day weekends all weekend long for the entire summer, unmixed, until Labor Day. I just know something's going to change because of Memorial Day and atleast one station is going to add some new type of dance music to their playlist - and from they way things look, it may be kissfm. If they add anything at all it will be a new type of dance music. We have No Doubt "it's my life, "Pitbull and Li'l Jon, "culo", Outkast "the way you move", and the dumb D12 song "my band". If they continue to mix songs this speed, they will eventually have to bring back dance music. You can only ignore Kylie Minogue and Dannii Minogue for so long! ~I wonder who sings this "I will walk on water just to be with you..." song because they keep playing it in Atlanta and it's a euro-breakbeat song. this is the second time I've heard it tonight and I guess next Saturday they will perform at whatever club they're mixing at... atleast I heard.~ I had a few things I wanted to do tonight, or should I say today since it was still day time here when they started mixing in Atl. but I got nothing done because I was dazed with a glare in disbeleif looking at my computer streamer. Milk inc. Now I don't even know what they are doing. I thought there was going to be afterQ, but now it's club Europe, or Euro - they are trying to world prremiere a B.T. f/ someone else song - Oh, it's afterQ live at Club Euro,... I get it. Similar to KissFM,s afterhourz from 4 to 6a.m. Friday and Saturday nights. If it were Sat. & Sun, then it would be beforehourz, but they call it "after", so this is why I say Fri., and Sat. - who knows, Memorial Day might just improve all the stations around here. All I know is that the Memorial day sale will be the time for me to get new turntables and stuff. I can only imagine what wild94.9 will do Memorial Day weekend.

No latin house, but atleast Atlanta is getting some sense on two of their radio stations, and if I may add, two of their most popular stations!
Hot107.9 is keeping it real with hip hop and admitting that hip hop & r&b isn't only black music, but any popular artist that has an r&b sounding song, like Justin Timberlake and other songs like that, so they're o.k.
I will end this by mentioning that right now they just played "culo" by Pitbull and Li'l Jon on KissFM, and almost followed it with "rock the house" by Freestyle but went to commercials as they continued to play it live in the club. They are slowly trying to come back it seems. When I hear Angel City, then I'll know. If I should hear Kevin Avianve, then I'll really know. They just need to take away their dumb slow jams show every weeknight and sunday night - Art Laboe was even better than the man they replaced Sunday nights with! No more Slow jams & dedications, or "oral expressions" as they like to call it on a top 40 station! Sunday night is enough. By the way, no matter how much they compete, they will not beat Power 92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b when it comes to slow jams, which makes sence on a urban radio station. KissFM should be doing some kind of mixshow every night or something, not trying to do "oral expressions"! I'm actually listening to both Q100 and KissF.M. right now waiting to see what happens next - I've been here 6 hours now in aw and disbeleif.

Now, Lets recap the events of the day: 104.7kissFM here in Az. so far has played 1 house song. Q100 in atlanta just changed the game in Atlanta and brought all kinds of house, trance, and breakbeats other than booty bass and top 40 mainstream to the clubs and airwaves. What a big day it has been for me! If it gets any better than this I may have to take Monday and Tuesday off of work because it will be so good that it would become a holiday for me.
 
Is Power 106 getting ready for their weekends this summer? Here in Az., last night when I was listening to Power92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b around 3 and 4a.m. as they did project groove (house, trance, breaks, drum & bass), I had a long conversation with them on the phone and they talked a lot of trash about Energy 92.7/101.1, Arizona's dance radio. They talked about how bad the station is doing, how they have to have an afterhourz show on the hip hop station because ebergy isn't doing their job, how the same guy that owns the r&b/oldschool station also owns energy but he's so old he doesn't know jack about house music so that's why the station is the way it is, no different kinds of dance, just trance and house. This is why they took away their mix shows and play crappy dance/pop music and that they lied to me if they said their ratings are good because they are so low that arbitron ratings system doesn't even know they exist! It's so bad that it's not even registered. They also mentioned how sad it is that there is an all dance music station and still the only time people can hear breakbeats, techno, drum & bass, and some hardcore is when Power 92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b does their Saturday Night Project Groove. (Notice I like to use the slogans a lot because it just makes things sound and look more ridiculous, like it is!) They just straight up said that the same old guy that owns 99.3/104.3 Arizona's jammin' r&b (old school) also owns Energy 92.7/101.1 Arizona's Dance Radio, but he's so old that he doesn't know jack about house, is an expert when it comes to anything that's old like him, Energy has potential but will never make it as long as that guy is the program director. The other people at the station are fine, kind of know what they're doing but the old man program director who's probably turning 60 soon keeps messing things up. (this is what I was being told). I don't really want to mention all the other stuff they talked about because I don't think they were all mentally there themselves, as they proceeded to explain to me that the reason dance music died was because people used it to do drugs and the government caught them and after a while it wasn't fun anymore, then the government didn't want house or trance anymore and now it's hard for the people that truly enjoy it because we now have to convince them to believe that it's not all drugs and getting high. I didn't even know what I was hearing as they told me this. I asked them "what about hip hop and rock and roll", They were like "you're right, yeah hip hop and rock are doing it now and almost every hip hop song is about drugs, just listen to 50 Cent.... but now that hip hop and Rock and Roll are doing it, it's cool now because MTV and the radio and everyone likes it more and the Government kind of agrees that this is the way it should look, so they don't really care too much..." - This conversation was pointless and kind of getting nowhere. Actually, I feel dumber now than I did before talking with the project groove people, who don't even know who Kevin Aviance is. I asked why Sharyn Maceren, Angelina's new stuff, and Jocelyn's new stuff wouldn't be played. They told me that right now we don't have any real top 40 stations to play it, the only station to play that here in Phoenix would be KissFM but..- And the other guy cut him off so he didn't continue his sentence. I'm beginning to believe that stations that play dance music really don't know much about what they are doing accept for when it comes to their favorite dance tracks. Energy 92.7 people like house and trance, so that's what they play. Power 92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b's project groove people like a variety, but now they have guest d.j's come in and mix. Of course the guy that loves drum & bass plays exactly that, drum &bass. The Techno guy comes and plays techno,...etc. Last night they were mentioning that this is the first time in Phoenix you will hear techno. After, they proceeded to say that maybe some people are like "what, but you guys play techno every saturday night on your show". He proceeded by saying, "and for those of you that consider techno to be an entire genre of music, that may be true, but there are actually different types of this kind of music called dance, and there is something in it for everyone - you just have to know what form you like..." So I guess after all they actually do have some sence. They explained that just like there are different kinds of hip hop, some may like dirty south hip hop, "yeeeaah!" "ooookkkaaayyyy!" "what!", some may like Eastcoast, and some may like westcoast, it's the same when it comes to dance and people have to realize that before they can except it.///
Now I feel like I have to start back at pre-school again to regain the intelligence I've lost during parts of that conversation.
 
...and once again, I missed the Sunday evening freestyle mix! I was so determined not to miss it this week and next thing you know, I look at the time and it says 7:54p.m. The mix is from 7:30 - 8:00p.m. Sundays on Power 92.3fm. Pocos Pero Locos is on now and I just heard a world premiere of a new latin hip hop song with the "Point of no return" hook in it but with different words. Not Nu Shooz, the other person that sings "point of no return" - don't know who it is.
I will now retire from typing for a while because tomorrow is BACK TO WORK! So until next Sunday, (unless some spectacular event takes place somewhere or on some station during the week which will require me to have to post the breaking news), Peace!

EDALGIE-I never liked RAP/HIP HOP culture-they have no class and their music sucks big time.I dont like music with vulgar language-theirs no need for that,their the only genre of music that kills their own people literally.Which to me is ok,the less of them the better.I love all other genres of music dance,rock,punk,country,latin,world,ETC.........except RAP/hIPHOp which Im sick of hearing everywere I go,I just hate GHETTO ass music.amen!!!!!!! :angel

is that 90.1fm?? is that at 1:00pm or 1:00am. I am not sure if I can get that station in Daly City. Any who that new Power 92.7 is wack too the frequecny is bad now it not as good it was when Party 92.7 was.
 
Yup, Or Some times its 90.5 depending on whare im at in the Bay, The Signal Verys, Listen Tuesdays From 10:AM to 1PM. I have a Feeling another 92.7 will surface soon , Theres way too many people out here who support Dance / Electronica. :idea
 
I just got done talking to Energy 92.7/101.1 about what power 92.3 #1 for hip hop & r&b said about them and their program.... Since I must go to sleep early to wake up for work, I will post more updates about this story and bring you the latest on whatever other events take place between now and then on either Friday or Saturday Night, most likely Saturday night........
