I know that most of CF club members live in New York and those that don't at least have stayed in New York and know enough to answer this question.

I have a friend who's planning on traveling to NYC next weekend and wants to stay at a good hotel (not a 5-star), ranging from a 4 to a 3 star hotel with good access to all the good places to visit. He searched Hotel.com and expedia.com and all those but would like a good opinion from people who actually know. I would like all your recommendations--you're the experts there.:yeey

I use to live in NY, but that was too long and I can't really give any opinions on this. So please help me my friends.

Give me good tips on the good hotels.

the hotel pennsylvania right across form madison sq. garden is where i stayed. go to hotels.com for prices. also the hyatt is good at grand central station. i used to work there.

Is it a good hotel??? I mean does it have access to all the sights and museums etc. and is it money worth or is it luxurious????
well it's on 42nd street between 7th & 8th so it couldn't be any closer to the sites....... as far as price & amount of luxury I'm not sure but I'll find out for ya...... 🙂

Thanks you guys for your opinions
Hope anyone else gives me more opinions so my friend can be pretty sure when he's choosing.

By the way, how's the weather in NYC, I know it's always cold, but being that we're from a warmer climate and I totally hate the cold I just want to know how's the weather.

When I'm in NY I stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Long Island City Queens. Manhattan is like right there! :heee Just cross one of the many bridges! :lol

Hotel Pennyslvania is great!
When I lived in Miami, and came here for shows with Expose', we always stayed there. Great Hotel. There was mgr named mario who always hooked me up with a suite!

yea i got a really big suite too, cause the first rm they gave me was a eyesore, so i b*tched. was really happy in the end. very quiet place and i stay at alot of places.

yw. like i said i used to work at the hyatt so i know most NYC hotels and the prices. it was part of my job.

Yeah liz..this hotel was not bad at all, even gee told me that when he dropped
me..the room was average size, neat, clean, modern..and so was the bathroom.
they had a continental breakfast included, free business office(free internet)
was a plus for me..that's where Liz found me..LOL! 😉 it was about $90/for
Times Sq..that's good..most range in the $250+.. Like someone said earlier,
look on hotels.com or expedia.com...they will give you cheaper rates than the
hotels directly..but compare yr the prices before booking..The smaller chain
hotels always have low rates...sometimes they will also give you company
discounts..which is when i go for something pricier like the Marriot Marquis
Times Sq..(whata view) but get my company discount!
