marlon......its interesting how all this is actaully hapening in both new york and maimi. a year ago..in miami they didnt call it electro clash, just simply nu retro, future pop and mixed the termainology with other stuff.

its ok, but he aint no victor calderone or junior vasques (who will be spinning a 12 hour set nest week at coliseum).maze is kinda fabricated...it will never be salvation!

check out wvum 90.5 on friday nights..electric kindom and the underground show.
also go to clubs like soho lounge on friday nights, for revolver.
thats 175 ne 36 st in the design district. also ,listening to the friday night wvum show you will hear when they have all the electro events. you will also hear them play the old school freestyle and electro once in a while (although they dont callit freestyle).Electro clash, breaks etc.

also there is a turday night electro clash party on the beach...free...but i forgot what it was called,lol. 9ill tell you maimi peeps more later on.

yes, also check out the salsa 98.3 events. they do play classic freestyle. go especially when the chief raymon hernandez is there, he will play the records that were played at 1235,backtreet, club nu, casanovas, hotweels etc.


Just so you know.......the next generation of freestyle will have a weekly in miami very soon. will keep everyone posted about that.

one more thing, i saw avenue d perform a few weeks ago and they did a hot trashy remake of cynthia and johnny o's "dreamboy,dreamgirl", oh my god you have to hear it, it goes "your my dreamboy,you suck my p*ssy and you eat it out"! DAYUMM!!!

it turns out that the avenue d girls are huge fans of freestyle. plus they are cuban and raised in miami! they are so trashy, my new favorite group!

yup, the diference with str8 up breaks and electro cklash are..thsat breaks was someowhat restricted and in a way to related to trance. it held that relatioinship that freestyle and hi-nrg records had way back inthe day.

electro clash is more open, can get more abstarct and has more mixture with the whole REAL early 80's scsne..everything from electrofunk, freestyle and new wave,punk rock etc. it has that undergound, meets rocker attitude as well. its not limited.

but its prodominantly driven by the early 80's beats..freestyle electro funk.


Im kinda glad...cuz im getting tired and turned off by the drama, the ignorance, the shadiness that the freestyle scene still has.
all this talk and aint no one breaking down doors or making impacts.only very few.

I told some record label execs the early warning that d'luna the chinadoll will move on inthe coming months and is also looking to incorporate some early 80's rock influences and hiphop and r&b to her breaks/freestyle format. in order to crack down the doors for freestyle and dance music in general in other markets. to experiment.

I was told that if she was going to use dance msuic to become pop at R&b and Rock, that no they wouldnt be interested, cuz they only do dance msuic.
I told em SHE IS DANCE MUISIC. and its most plainly to see thatif big labels that dont wana take the chance..that ther is a scene..(electro clash) where you can still be elecro/freestyle/breaks and anything you wan be and still be suported by labels like MINISTRY OF SOUND.
less comercial/trendy, but just as powerful and important.


AND I SEE HOW OUR EVOLUTION CONTINUES and may IT FLOURISH HARD. MAY OUR FRESTYLE INFLUENCES PREVAIL
