Kim's gettin' in on this conversation & her comment is, "it's kinda cheesy that a well known artist like Cynthia has to resort to a remake & try to pass it off as a new song" 🙂

EVERYTHING INVOLVES CRITICISM. NO DOUBT!

AND OF COURSE EVERYBODY, AS I ALWAYS SAY, IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINIONS! 😀 I LOVE OPINIONS AND CRITICISMS AND I'M BASICALLY GIVING MY OWN. 🙂

what are the beats like???

planet rock, breakbeat, miami?...i guess someone said urban dance??? give me an example of a popular song out there that is urban dance....

are there samples of cynthia's version...i loved marisol's...

I can send you a sample of it mibadboy

I swear to you that it sounds so much like today's funk R&B and I guess the editz is suppose to be the freestyle in it. lol. I don't care as long as it has some mad freestyle direction. And if it doesn't then I would still listen to it because I did actually thought of it to be good enjoyable music BUT I hope that not all of the remaining freestyle artists of today plan to go in that direction. And I hope that not all of the freestyle world dives in to this new sound. I'm all about the freestyle.

This is another example of keeping the New School Artist down , Why didnt KTU push it in 2001 when Marisol rereleased it , but now That Cynthia "remade it and changed a title Why It been played.......

Unreal

U took the thoughts right outta my head. My point exactly. Why wasn't this shit pushed when Marisol initially did it? Her voice is flawless. But I've never heard Marisol's version either, nor have I heard Cynthia's.

So where can I get a clip/sample?

You can talk abou this song all u want I dont think it will see the light of day .....

I havent heard the cover yet and Im sure it's not a MASTER at this time knowing what goes into making these songs. In the end, I'm sure Frankie and the crew working with him will come with something we all will love and enjoy for years to come when it's completed but on ANOTHER PEACEFUL NOTE,

If the song in question is the MARISOL SONG "Why Can't You Tell Me" that was originally released on Freestyle Parade Volume 3 distributed by MicMac Records, Inc., The publishing to that song is administered by MicMac Entertainment Music and I advise that Frankie or someone handling the song will call me before releasing this song and also to avoid any potentional legal problems that can arrise.

MicMac Entertainment Music did not give anyone any rights to re name the song "Why Can't You Tell Me" to "WHY" or any other name. If CYNTHIA recorded an original song with different words and melody, Even better and there is nothing to talk about.

Keep in mind, Any songs published and administered by MicMac Entertainment Music should be cleared in writing through the HARRY FOX AGENCY and or MicMac Entertainment Music.

I wish CYNTHIA and Frankie Cutlass nothing but the best and much more continued success.

Have a wonderful day,

Best,
Mickey Garcia

i will tell you guys what i told cynthia herself last night when i called in to ktu felt the song was great and the best thing about it it is a new track featuring her i support my artists in what ever way

Damn, deja vu in the HOUSE! lol

Remember back in 2001 when every1 was slammin Sa-fire (oh n Cynthia too. lol) for remaking "Can You Stand The Rain". No one cared that if u took it for what it was and stop all the FS-politic-BS, lol, it was a great cover! And come to find out, honey put down her own cash to make that for her fans.

And here we are yet again. And once again with an artist we claim to like. Claim her as one of the "queens/princesses" of this music when it's all good. lol

I didn't hear the show or the song. But question...during the show, did she ever say that it would be the lead single from a forthcoming album? Maybe it's just what's done now. Or maybe it's a track that she just finished and was feelin'. Maybe it's just the song she FELT like playing. This may not even be a cut that makes it to the album. Or maybe it will be the first single from a new album...SO WHAT? lol

well...she kept promoting it as her next single through the whole show. and when someone called in and asked when the album will come out...she corrected him by saying...well..the "single" will be out...etc. and ktu kept putting that annoying "ktu worldwide exclusive" announcement over it every 30 seconds...so it's definitely the finished single. they only do that when premiering songs. and why would she play an unfinished song and say it's her next single??...that wouldn't be too smart either.
the problem is not that she covered an already pretty good song...the problem is it's a bad cover of that song. it's an unnecessary remake.

Actually the 2001 remix of Marisol's "why cant you tell me" Did get alot of air play on Judy's Show on KTU in 2001. But it was all mixshow. I would say about 25 plays total. It got great responses. But when I tried getting it added to KTU no one there returned my calls or allowed me an appointment. I havent heard the Cynthia mix yet. I wish her the best.
