with the money you guys make off cover charge and booze......Save the money and buy a place of your own. Or you can use that money might only take you guys a year before you have the money for a str8 up freestyle club of your own. Sale Nachos and hot dogs and shit. Any thing that will make money, Water, Glow sticks, just sale every thing for double, thats how clubs make the money. But keep in mind its quite pricy to rent a spot even for one night. they wont rent it out unless they make the same or more money they would make if it was a regular buisness day. Once you have a place of your own, invest in the music itself! start a lable and and start pumpin out some new jams!! LOL . I know , I know....one thing at a time, I hope you guys really o this though. That would be such a huge acomplishment even if you only did it for 1 day....it just shows the power of unity and internet networking.

Okay! we going to need a treasurer. cuase there is going to be alot of funds out to collect......so lets get some serious ppl involed and let's get it started....remeber just must first crawl b4 you start to run....so let's try this for 1 or 2 nights and if it works out good we keeep it going...because if it's a blast the first two nights. we can expand it from there and bring on more ppl... remember ppl do read these forums...so this is a good outlet....even for performers

freestyle nights

hi this is for galvatron and tek. and anyone else.

right now were going into new year. but my idea is that we get together 2 nd thrusday of the month. and we sit down and meet each other.

then next thing we do is right a documnet of how the club will work and wont. then we get other people to agree on it.

Next we elect people.,.,.

next we make it a reality.

Umm Galvatron lives in California, lol and is rehabilitating from a nasty car accident. How ever, you guys do your thing and after my record release in april I will begin my tour. if your still doing your thing , i will perform at your spot amd bring others with me, no problem.

If you want my advice, here it is.

1) Dont form a Huge Team, At the end of the night your gonna have to wack up the money you made with all who invested.

2) in the hall or club or resturaunt SALE, SALE, SALE. Nachos, Hot dogs, chips, bottled water, Beer, soda, Sale thease items for twice as much as you payed + a 50 cent on the end of each item,

3) ask who ever is in charge of the venue if you can provide your own stuff to sale instead of saling his, he will say yes if you give a decent cut. 15% to the owner on all items you sale will make him say ok, it works for us.

4) The cover charge money is yours, The owner gets no part of this money...you already rented his venue.

5) get a lighting system, This is mando for any dance floor.....this is al gonna cost you , but I assure you.....you will make it all back with a amazing prophet.

6) when you select the dj's ask them if they have sound stage equipment and a lighting system. this saves you the trouble of buying it your self. If they do , pay the dj to bring it and set it up...you can pay them later after you collect the cover money.

7) Try to get live freestyle. Yall live on the East Coast so you have many to choose from. Nu Image, Anya, Ashely, Nick Colon, Etc. See if they will do it for free...promo show. they can make there money by saling there cds and sighning them at the end of the show. if they wont come out for free....See how much they want and make a deal. How ever...You dont need them that bad and its there loss if they dont wanna roll and sale there cd's. ask all of them seperatly and see whos down, make sure you alert them this is a promotional show. Some one will come. its freee exposure for the artists.

8) Finally desighn your audience. Select who you want in the club. The younger the better, if your trying to save freestyle music wich you are dont target just one age group. In fact make it a 18 to enter, and 21 to drink type thing.....Trust me you will pack the place like that. girls are free before 10:00 and bam you have a croud.

9) Flyers gotta look sick, it should cost you about 250 for a shit load. Glossy card with dope graphix. pass it out in the mall to folks you want to see in the club. Select the baddest bitches and the flyest men. your shit needs image feel me? Thats why Rap has surpassed freestyle. Thats all i can think of at the moment but theres more, but you see the picture. this one night event should cost you between 3 -5 k and you can make back double maybee tripple depending on alcohal arrangements.

Dade county is full of freestyle heads... but not so much my age. I've seen a couple of ppl (from ages 18-22) in clubs and concerts.

Yeah I forgott about sucurity, and a mandotory dress coad. no hats, Due Rags, Jersys, etc. Must dress to impress or no entry. If you can find a place that will give you from 8:00 to 2:00 am for like 800 bux, you can probly do this for about 2500 dollers and it will be cracking. the most money comes out of the drinks but its against the law to bring your own. you have to work it out with the owner...Bringing your own beer must be kept secret or you will be fined. like I said 15% should shut his ass up, but if he refuses the offer and your forced to sale his shit....you wont make that much prophet. You will how ever make your money back and have a damn good time.

Find out the maximum capacity the venue holds and then multiply that by 10 or 15 bux so you instantly know how much your making off the cover charges...then you can guesstimate the rest of the nights earnings...also be aware you might not fill up the whole club....thats whare the flyer and promo comes in handy.has to look tight, and dont just spin freestyle....you should spin house and trance, techno, breaks and a lil hip hop so every one feels welcome how ever freestyle should be the most played but if you play freestyle and nothing else, and especially if your spinnin that old 1980's stuff...many people will leave and go club somewhare else. You must munipulate them by a cool mix, play progreesive freestyle as well as the old school...not many peeps in the 18-26 age group want to hear oldies...so HAVE A GOOD MIX READY. Good luck!!

we had mixxed tapes.,,.,. we were the first to do this,.,.,. we use to sell tapes,.,.not me,..,but this place did,..,,.

And I Remember.,.,., the tapes,..,., where every week,.,.,. it got so much,.,.,. that the started calling them

tape 50 tape 51 etc.,,.

they went up tooo tape 300 before,..,.,

there was any House,.,. and i think tape 400 was finally rap,.,.then odessy went out of business,,..,

but for,.,.,.300 weeks,.,from 83 to 88.,. every mix was club,.,.,.

I strongly advise a current play list for your music sets , If you wanna good turn out and have the people return for a 2nd event, your gonna want to be as fresh and current as possible. I understand your not intrested in having the youth attend your event, but yet you wanna save freestyle? you want people to attend and anticipate a next time. you want your shit to be hot. You must think more buisness minded if your gonna invest your money in to a project like this other wise your investment can result in to a total loss. If you insist on playing nothing but freestyle the whole night, thats cool but play some west coast freestyle.....something a lil more progressive. Something more fast that can really move the crowd. Get your hands on some German and Canadian freestyle and blend it in with the old school. Be different, Be something new. Turn some heads, get some glow sticks and make it more like a raving expirence then a typical old school club expirence. You must sacrifice your wants for the peoples wants...they the ones paying to get in. I mean If you ballance it out correctly with a little TKA and then throw in some Angelina or Spanish Fly..you be fine. You dont want people to pay in and then feel like they have been riped off, Give em a party! Make your shit one of tha hottest venues in your area. Im only looking out for your best intrest, I dont want you to loose you money. I think its a great cause and Totaly support what your doing....but you gotta do it right. Its 2005 so be diverse. This is just some freindly advise from expirience i have gathered throwing partys. We have excellent turn outs and its because we play dope music. Freestyle, AZN Breakz, Trance. When the people hear we throwin another party, Thay return and bring more people with them then we can actually fit in the venue.
 
i like your ideas,.,and your advice,., at 9 hours,..,,. i have to throw something more than freestyle,.., but from,.,. 11 pm to 3 pm,.., it be solid nyc freestyle,., period,.,.
and then finish with canadian west coast german freestyle,,..,
