I was at Great Adventure and I came out of the bathroom when I saw a handful of people standing around in a small comotion. They said they heard a child crying coming from over the fence & in the Congo River Rapids Ride. The ride wasn't running so it was just a big empty ravine (where the water usually goes). I immediately hopped the fence and I saw what must've been a 2 or 3 year old boy caught in the ravine. I jumped down into the ravine which was about 6 feet, and I lifted the boy out. He didn't seem hurt, but he was crying & in a state of shock. I climbed out myself. I was asking him where his mom or dad was, I don't think the boy spoke English, or he was just too scared. I brought him to a security guard & told him what happened, and that was kind of the end of it. Except for the fact that I keep wondering how the kid got in there, how'd he get through the fence & into the ride track? What if the ride was running, he would've drowned or got crushed by the boats. What if they started testing the ride with the boy stuck in there? How long was he stuck in there crying & why the small group of people didn't do anything? Anyway, the boy is fine I guess, but this whole event is gonna stick in my head for a bit........... 🙂

I bet you didn't even realized what was happening until after you got him out of there.

Unbelievable.

It's actually still kind of a blurr...... it was right near the kiddie area tho..... I'm always there with my tribe of kids & I'd like to think something like that would never happen...... maybe it was a "turned their head for a split second and kid wandered off" thing........ don't know...... but when I brought the kid to the security guard....... he said the mom was already looking for him........ I'm still trying to picture how he got in there if I had to jump a fence & drop down into a ditch 6 feet to get him......

HEY PAPA!!!!!!!!

IT'S NICE TO KNOW THERE'S CARING PEEPS LIKE YOU ON OUR SIDE... 😉GREAT GESTURE SEITZ...FREDDIE 😛

I'm trying to picture where you mean...

I just don't understand people... (parents/adults) who let their kids wander away.

I am not a worrying type of parent (meaning: I am not one of those parents who doesn't let her kids share a drink with their sibblings or even their friends because of germs... ), but when it comes to watching them closely in public... I am very tentative.

I put it in my kids head, if I can't see you and you can't see me, I can't help you if you need me.

That is the one thing that terrifies me... a child being taken from me, so to have this kids just fall into that ditch and his parents not even know the facinity that he fell in, is pretty bad.

Ok, I got that all out.

Sorry.

lol
