I look at it like this. The labels are not putting out singles the way they used to and are trying to force consumers into buying full-length albums instead, and at ridiculously high prices. Not to mention that there are usually dance mixes that are then unavailable to the public completely since the labels refuse to put out singles. So, what are we to do? We hear the mixes, we want to have the mixes tangibly, so we download. The industry is forcing the music-buying public's hand by not releasing singles and by the insane greediness of high retail prices.
You can't tell me that the labels are in dire straits when they pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce videos that feature more bling bling than a f**ing diamond mine.
😀 Now this one has opened my eyes!!!!!!!!
😀
You have an aufly good point. But we are refering to the "FREESTYLE" industry, witch does have an "EXTREMELY" low budget. How many freestyle artists do you know of wears "ICE" and "BLING, BLAGH"?
We, as the newer generation of the freestyle industry, dont have a penny to scratch our asses with. We dont have anything on top of the billboard charts any more, as if we actually are dead!!! Wich in fact, we are trying to survive with a 9-5 job, and, support our own coorporations, artists, lables, management, distribution, and all the other crap that "WE" have to deal with! Thus, not having enough to push upon the little things within our industry!
Since the mid 90's til ???, freestyle music has been nothing but underground music, along with house, and a few other genres. That was the result of not having enough money.
I mean think about it for a sec.........
We have more one hit wonders than any other music genre there is out there, let alone freestyle music being a twig on the family tree of dance. That absolutely has to stop!
Suporting freestyle by buying the newest cd's instead of downloading the songs on what ever program is used, is actually "Stealing". The reason I say this is cause you get a file from some one else's pc, that they could have paid a fortune for, and has it in there for their own reasons, download it, and keep it in a file where it's accessable to others, in the same method.
I mean, c'mon, I know theres plenty of places online that you can pop a $20 bill at and you have a cd without leaving the house.
Is that sooooooooo hard to do? I know for a fact, that u either already know the songs, or are allowed to hear a few "SAMPLES".
:crap Ah, sit.....:crap
I got a cramp now!!!!!!! LOL
