I hear all this about the new Mix 102.7. I hear they play all this old school Dance music and freestyle. Is this station really good, is this station starting a new kind of Adult Contempary: Rhythmic AC? If that's the case, WPLJ..Look out.LOL
 
I made the switch to MIX 102.7 - they play MY kind of music. They are adding more and more freestyle to their playlist and they tend to play the extended versions. I just heard Boy ive been told, extended version.

their sat nite dance mixes are off the hook - they play a great mix of club music from back in the days.

They play a lot of older freestyle.

I still listen to ktu. I like hearing newer dance music like Mynt, Aubrey, Emma, and others.
 
I absolutely love 102.7. They play so much great disco, freestyle, and dance classics. They also play some classic love songs like Just Once by James Ingram and After The Love is Gone by Earth, Wind, and Fire. They have been adding more and more freestyle. I still liten to KTU sometimes because like Chuck, I like to hear some of the newer dance music, but for the most part, I listen to 102.7 and I love it! And the best part about it...NO RAP!!

Looks like DC is getting some of the message. Our Hot AC station; Mix 107.3 has extended their playlist. Last night I heard DC's own Shannon-Let The Music Play, Lisa Lisa-Can I feel The Beat, Expose-Seasons Change. I even heard some old school Hip hop. Looks like 107.3(which many of us in DC call: The Whitiest station in Washington) is sounding cool.
 
Earlier today, I heard the song Another Sleepless Night by Shawn Christopher on Mix 102.7. I havent heard that song in ages!

This might be things to come for radio. Radio listenership is way down for the past 10 years. Since the emergence of XM/Sirius, and I-Pods, people are dumping regular contempary radio formats. They are looked at as being too predictable, playing the same tight rotation over and over again.
 
I know stations Like Hot 97 nor Z100 will get involved in this for now!! But I predict later, they may consider opening their platylist a little.
 
Randi, when I heard "Another Sleepless Night," I logged onto their website and asked them to put it into regular rotation. That was my JAM!!
 
Its a great song Ivan!! Ive also been hearing Baby Love by Regina which is another sogn I love! They really play awesome songs on 102.7!
