Feeling abandoned and very lost

I couldn't believe you retired so soon
And moved so far from here

As I sit here trying hard to cope and adjust
Fighting back tears as not to cry
You're living now where you belong
I knew it wasn't a good-bye

It was more like dad I'll see you soon
Some day I'll jump on that plane
But looking around without the sound of your voice
It just doensn't feel the same

Dad, I'm missing you oh so much
Days of outings and barbecues
Holidays when our family would gather around
Reminiscing about each other's youths

Now I'm a woman with a family of my own
In my heart you are my world
No matter how many years go passing by
I will always be your little girl.
