If quality was involved (and I am not saying that Bobby is not a good producer, because I think Strong Island was one of the better labels to emerge from the New School era of the mid 1990's and I would love to see Romeo release a full length album), the product would be able to sell itself. Too many crappy labels tried to push albums by talentless artists singing off-key over a loop of Planet Rock for 10 tracks is what caused many labels to view pushing an album by a solo artist (or group) a taking a risk. A compilation will still suck if no effort is put into making it.

no, I never said that. I love old school as much as anyone else BUT I pushing for the idea for a new sound, lyrics, topic....anything to give it new life.

VOLUME 2 is due to hit stores by the end of the month. check BEST BUY. Bobby is also looking to die a VOLUME 3 in which i will assist him on. 🙂

Freestyle lives

Many people that say Freestyle died in 1992 are not paying attention to the new school artists like Rockell, Jocelyn Enriquez, La Rissa, Synthia Figueroa etc. They all started a revival in the late 90's and we have to keep it going in this new decade. we have to buy and support new artists. My album has 3 Freestyle Tracks on it you can check it out at www.RJAMPRODUCTIONS.com. It has been getting play on Latin stations like Latino mix 105.9FM. top twenty in record pool charts and top 5 on internet sites like soundclick. There is also a new album by johnny O. I also have artists on stand by who want to record freestyle but may have to record Salsa or Trance if no one is interested in buying freestyle music. We all need to show support for the new artists.

Tybless...Why is it that on TKA's website you have two radio stations for fans to call into to request TKA. POWER96 AND Y-100?..NOT MEGA103.5? FIRST, power96 has not played Freestyle music for over 5 months. Y-100 has not played Freesytle songs in A LONG LONG TIME. I think you should restructure your marketing thinking or sales agendas. I'm sorry, but MEGA103.5 is WHERE YOU SHOULD BE TARGETING.

Rhoq, Kenny and others: Freestyle Music is not dead. It's just that the way the "Executives" handled it then and NOW did not and is not working.

I prefer to hear songs that talk about a broken heart from a true love or dreaming of a special person instead of hearing bad words and bad carma all around for the kids and the WOMEN of this world.

I'm just speaking my mind.
