It's OK Bella, I have absolutely no desire to own the Sa-Fire album either 🙂

However, I am willing to accept a copy as a donation. Why would I want to waste money a bunch of house mixes of old Freestyle songs? I know that there were 2 or 3 new songs on there as well, but one of them (CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN) is a song that I really don't like, so why waste the money on "supporting the artist" if I have interest in the product?

You prefer the old-school without change..

We are all looking to emulate what once was and still can be..

whenever we change the sound of our music you all start crying that its not freestyle grow up and let it go we must abandon the sound and jump on the bandwagon on the next hot sound like vocal trance an example would be eyra gail the johnny buds mix is freestyle but the trance mix by collage is not why cause it dosent sound the same yet the vocals stay the same to me both mixes are freestyle its just in different forms
 
Well every one has thier opinions and personally I too dont enjoy most house remixes of a freestyle song. (Unless I did them LOL) Especially if its sounds like the factory method record mill sound of G'ole metropolitan and viper and those freestyle serial killing labels in the late 90's. regurgitating the lame sounds bad writing and bad vocals. Oh wait remixes thats right sorry. Uhmm yeah if the song was phat yah leave it alone. If you want to do it over and your going to a phat job on it abosolutly but if its being done for the sake of doing it and you really dont have any new material and you want to put out an album... Save the money push an EP instead and give us 4 tracks of something good and original to talk about. And not something for us to be saying Ugggh why did they do that to my song!

The strings and horns have given way to synth pads and synth leads. I think in order for freestyle to be viable in any clubs it needs to evolve alongside euro and trance and make use of more synths, something that has been happening. I'm not saying the strings pads and horns don't sound good, I use them in the music I produce, but you can't make a song that sounds like it was made in 1989 and expect it to become popular. Freestyle's success was due to it being similar in basic sound to the current pop music of the time, but having an EDGE to it..

Good point Tarp! See, we just need that EDGE badly bro....it can evolve, but I want it to have that bad a** edge to it that made it what it was.

Here is the thing again what market are you looking to get? to me sure back in the day Freestyle I dont cae if the Radio played it I may be wring but it was a NY Club thing AMIami Club thing an Chicago Club thing. Everybody(state) had thier own artists. And own mini labels and sure we got some release from other states here. But to me it was always an underground/club scene party movement that made noise for a little while and then the latino market fell right out from under them cause they got greedy. Today's house tracks I dont know what you guys are listening to but I play lots of keys, strings horn hits Vocals and samples of old club and even freestyle. But its not going to get radio play most of it...Its for the clubs. The mixed CD buying crowds etc. I know my market and I dont expect to make tracks that I really will need to perform to. Just watch people dance and Play. Now if you want to be on the top 20 charts You need to play music thatis just that top 20 if that is what your going for. But if you are just trying to please the market that you love than that is fine its all good. There is always a product for someone to buy. There is somehthing that you always find that you like.

The synth sounds have always been a part of Freestyle - I see the need to focus more on the string arrangements and horns rather than using too many synth sounds as alot of the new Freestyle has so many synth sounds that it sounds like "electronic overkill"...

GIVE YOUR LOVE TO ME - was great, my favorite TKA record of all time, but I was thinking more along the lines of the intro.'s to the old Micmac songs like "THIEF OF HEARTS" by Cynthia, "FANTASY GIRL" by Johnny O., "IN THE NAME OF LOVE" by Charlie Babie, etc. Even a song like "WITHOUT YOU" by George LaMond featured a beautiful string arrangement. This is a huge piece of what today's Freestyle is lacking...

BACH TO THE FUTURE! by The Latin Rascals is one of my all-time favorite albums - Nice mix of classical music and Freestyle/dance...

If you dig classical music or appreciate the Latin Rascals (and who doesn't) then this album will forever be a masterpiece!

well, like Bobby Laserra told me other day, you wont see anymore "FULL CDS" with 1 artist because its not worth the trouble of trying to make that artist a "big star" because there is a great risk involved.

there were 4 or 5 new songs and the rest were remixes on SA-FIRES cd, which were very good, i might add.
