I definetly think that it's a new type of freestyle!!! Madonna is considered a pop singer because all of her songs are popular. But what is the genre of the music??? When Nsync came out with Dirty Pop, they called it pop, when it had freestyle elements. It's considered pop because it was a popular song but it's genre is FREESTYLE!!!!! That's just my opinion.

Right and yet if we had for ex. Willie Valentin do that same track....would you guys still think the same?

Gornicevo quote: Willie Valentin is Freestyle; Madonna is NOT! Bottom line.

Woops. I mistated my question. My question was would you guys (the people who are disagreeing that "die another day" isnt freestyle) still feel the same way about this track if you knew for ex. Willie Valentin was the one who produced the track? My concern here is possible ignorance.

OK people let's start a debate.

its not freestyle. period.

i agree with francis... electronica is a good term for it!

bull.
If that was Cynthia singing that song you would all be calling it Freestyle, you know it , Iknow it, we all know it.

This has happened over and over, whenever a mainsteam pop artist like nsync (tearing up my heart) , Madonna (frozen and more), or Aqua (turn back time) does a freestyle song or even new artists like sonique (feels so good) , science (masquerade) or Larissa (I do both jay and jane). I guess you do not want any sort of progression or to have a mainstream freestyle hit anymore.

suit yourself, and wait for the comback, but disco was waiting first.

disco?? wouldnt that just be where house music nowadays came from?

It's definetly closer to freestyle than any other type of music.
Rockell's song "What You Did To Me" and I'm talking about the origonal is considered freestyle and that has a euro beat. I would consider Madonnas song Breakbeat and breakbeat came from freestyle.

Aint it the truth!

We'll here's my take in all of this. If Safire, Cynthia, GL, TKA,.... all artist's with old school freestyle degrees came up with this kind of sound in their music, there is a big chance or a definite possibility that everyone will label it freestyle. Majority always rule. Maybe not by the old school crowds but certainly by the new generation. A generation that's still waiting to be inspired by this music. I think it's time, dont you think?

What if Metallica or Ozzy sang it (yeah that is far fetched)? Would it be considered rock? What if Shania or Reba sang it? Would it be considered country? I don't think the artist determines the genre of the song since many of them are now branching out to different areas of music.

i think you're right on this one. not everyone would, but remember when lots of people were calling some of TKA's disco house "freestyle"?

If you want to consider Jocelyn's "Little Bit of Extacy" freestyle, then you have to call Madonna's freestyle. I think that both songs are similar.

dquatrro, are u out of u'r mind??....little but if extacy is a great osng, but not in anyway near similar to it...that's my opinion

"Little Bit of Extacy" is not your typical freestyle song. It's different, just like "Die Anither Day". I think that they should be in the same category. Maybe it's breabeat.

"a little bit of ecstacy" is the new type of freestyle sound that you guys are trying to put the new madonna song.
very different song from madonna's song, i agree with rhythmfactor.

1) The clean cut mix is definitely 100% freestyle

2) The song is charted on the freestyle top 10 up here in Canada and our opinions often differ from those in the USA
