You know what? I honestly don't blame these people for doing what they are doing. You've seen the images. Everyone is disoriented. You've seen the people suffering, crying, and starving for food and water. What the f**k do you expect these people to do? You have temperatures of 105, yet there is no drinking water. At this point, it's everyone for themselves. Survival of the fittest- only the strong survive. Most of these people come from nothing, so they have nothing. Most of the images I've seen have been of African Americans. What if this shit happened in NY? It very well could. Do you really think New Yorkers would act in a civil manner? Ah, no!

I have a lot of sympathy for these people. It's amazing how these people from the projects are still waiting for help, just lining up on a bridge....waiting.....and waiting......and waiting. The death toll is going to soar! Disease is going to spread.

Damn......

I can see if they were looting for necessities like food , drinks , etc . even clothes are understandable but why the hell are these ppl taking furniture and tvs and shit if they cant use them down there, the streets are flooded so theycant really get out of where they are unless the they are rescued

They gotta do what they have to the state cant move faster then what they are right now and in the mean time as you said people are starving I was telling my sister teh same shit a lot of these people had nothing to begin with so it comes down to them trying to survive at all cost right now. I dont think this is the wors of it as you mentioned the disease thats gonna spread not to mention the animals that are loose in those waters right now co much to worry about I pray that God help them.

i just heard on cnn that they are afraid that there is a chance that there can be a massive breakout of cholera and typhoid down there.

With no plumbing and sewage systems backing up and overflowing, plus you have a constant flow of water into and through the city streets and houses and buildings.. No eliectricity, no running water, nonetheless drinking water, gas line breakages, chemicals and bacteria will run rampant.. they need to get everyone out of New Orleans and just bomb it! With all that standing water and no way of getting the water out.. Its just all horrible... very very horrible... Gosh.. I would be afraid to run into an alligator or something..

The mayor of New Orleans says that there could be hundreds or even thousands dead !! This is sooo scary. Last week it was my lil sister that got hit first in Florida and it was bad enough she had no power for 2 days , i didn't even imagine it would turn in to this!

true... but why didnt they leave??? All these people.. why didnt they leave?? That is the only thing that keeps floating around in my head... when they say get out, you get out... I mean.. why didnt they leave.. DANGIT! Its frustrating, as it is I am sure for the county EMS planners and the other Meteorologists in this country wondering that we give you all the information... and you still stay!! WHY??!!! Gollly geez, they even said that this storm was a "life threatening" storm, that precautions to "protect LIFE and property should be completed" or "rushed to completion"... I just dont know sometimes...
