Collage- I Feel Love

I dont think this song was ever a single but to me it's a true defining freestyle song. Similar to the dramatic..."louder than love".

I find this song so intriguing. I think Adam Marano does an incredible job with his vocals and the music on this number. Very different than your average freestyle song. Very original though it carries the planet rock beat....hardly unoticeable when you listen with your heart. On this cut, he harvests his power on going with the flow of the dramatic melody. Not often heard on many of his hits. I'd say it's good quality freestyle. This tune is found on his Chapter 2 cd.

Definitely "You'll Never Find Another Love" by '& MORE'......They don't play this classic too much on the radio like when Judy Torres has her freestyle night on KTU. This song is a classic by one of freestyles legends. "& MORE" is one of the original artist from the 80's and when he performs he gets the crowd hyped. They sing his song with him, they let out shouts, and they just simply enjoy the show this artist puts on (a one man show at that)........."& MORE" still gets props and much respect for this one particular song. I've seen it with my own eyes believe me. This is one classic that doesn't need to be re-made into techno or anything else. You don't alter CLASSICS. I hope to hear "You'll Never Find Another Love" on rotation on Latinomix 105.9 by Diamond Boy and Mickey Garcia.

I feel the same about "Silent Morning" by 'Noel'. Love that song and that's another classic.

I'd have to go with:

Yvonne DeLeon - I Can't Face The Fact

Great song whoch was played so much back in the day on the mix shows, yet it is now very much forgotten.

Being in San Deigo, alot of freestyle songs are underrated because they don't play freestyle out here, so from a San Diego perspective I would say:

The Album that never got released: Same Sun Same Sky by Tony Moran. If any of you are able to buy it, do it, it is a work of art. You can tell he poured his heart into this album, with song likes; Is It love with TKA(extended version), On the Edge with Safire. The entire album is awesome stuff, I cannot believe they held this album up.

I was lucky enought to find it and payed $40.00 bucks for the CD.

2 I can think of OTTOMH would be...

Out Of Control - Corina
Always Beside Me - Sandee

I'm sure a few others will come to me 🙂

I questioned that too, but after giving it more thought... it was kinda like an anthem at the time, but you never hear it nowadays so I suppose it's kind of a "sleeper" hit....

All freestyle is underrated!

My pick would have to be Miguel Reyes Jr. "Those Were The Times". He has such a crystal clear voice, I get chills when I hear him sing.

I think there are quite a few underrated freestyle songs...for instance, some songs by Judy Torres that hardly if ever get any airplay such as "Please Stay Tonight" and "Im So In Love With You". Other under-rated freestyle songs are:

Love Desire by Chrissy I-Eece
My Heart Alone by Sam Savon
Lovin You Like Crazy by Corina
Then Came You by TPE
My Heart Skips a Beat by The Cover Girls
Red Hot by Trilogy
Roses are Red by Maribel
I Should Have Known by Vienna
Tears of Tears by Tonasia
Surrender by Clear Touch

I could go on and on. And I consider these songs among many others to be underrated because they are true freestyle classics that hardly if ever get any airplay. And if you arent lucky enough to own them on record, tape, or cd, chances are you wont really hear them on the radio.

Actually "underrated Freestyle" seems to be an oxymoron, don't you agree. The whole genre is underrated but not to get off the subject there is one that comes to mind. I have said it in the past and it always comes to mind. It is by one of the biggest names in Freestyle and is truly unique....."Please stay Tonight" by Judy Torres
I think of all her songs she puts the most heart into this one!

"Give me the chance to prove that I love you
Give me the chance I'm thinking of you
Please stay tonight
Please stay tonight
You're the only one I'm thinking offffffffffffffffff"

"Regrets Only" by Tomax
"Love Desire" by Chrissy Ieece (that her real last name?)

I think both these records are SO very underrated. It's hard to figure out why Chrissy's career never took off in freestyle. I guess she was just one of the good ones that slipped through the cracks. Tomax may not have had the best vocals, but that track was madd catchy and original. He was on his own thing, it didn't sound like the other records. Also these tracks are somewhat popular but incredibly hard to find on cd and in full-length.

MY all time favorite Judy Torres Song "Please stay tonight"! you got tht right FreeJack.

Freestygal you also named two great ones.

Cover Girls "Heart Skips a beat" (favorite covers girls song) and Corina's "Loving you like crazy" (favotire Corina song)

Enigma, I also bought that CD from Ebay it was a longshot, but I was relentelessly looking for it and I found it.

I agree about Chrissy I-Eece...she definitely had one of the strongest voices in freestyle!!!
