Well I know we have discussed this topic before but I wanted to touch up on it again. I have noticed a lot of members are opening up even if it is just a little they are opening up lol to trying new things in FS and I know Jack had mentioned adding some things on the sight to expand and bring more attention to Freestyle. Well the other night we were in a conversation and I remembered we had discussed combing freestyle with Hip hop/R&B and to an extent people agreed on how going about it would be, and I also remember people not feeling the idea of Hip hop because it would change it with the language , people even made fun of such artist like Fat Joe and Freestyle etc. In any case the more I thought about it the more I started exploring the idea. I think it could work and bring a lot of attention to Freestyle my reasons for feeling so and hey I could be wrong but that’s why I am posting to get feed back and hopefully we can discuss this without it getting ugly lol. I feel that in order for it to work it would have to take the right Hip-Hop artist to make it work with the right Freestyle artist. Hip hop has incorporated itself with some many other genres and has brought attention to those genres and has even paved the way for other artist to try the same, We have seen Rock and Hip-hop (run dmc/Aerosmith, Eve/Gwen Stephani, Kid Rock, Linkin Park etc etc and of course we have seen Hip Hop and R&B more then work look at how many R&B artist have been made just off of singing hooks. So its like if all these other genres can blow up while using elements of Hip hop why cant Freestyle. Like I said it would take the right Collabos to make it work. It is easy to see what Hip Hop acts could help bring Freestlye that shine it needs the artist I think that could do this are artist such as Eve, Jarule, Nas, (I have thought of more these are just examples lol) why because for one these artist have combined hip hop with different vocal styles and have made it work within FS we have artist ranging from so many different vocal ranges. Lets say Nyasia or Safire do a collabo with Nas people become curious who is singing with Nas who does that voice belong to, when they find out they want to know what they can about the artist and when they look them up there roots will lead them back to Freestyle and people in turn will wonder what Freestyle exactly is its history and how this artist came about. Maybe I am thinking to much but I just wanted to bring the topic back up since everyone has become a little more open minded or at least willing to hear ideas so please post up your feed back thanks J
