That's funny that they announced and let people know ahead of time that they were going to take away that mix show. Here in Arizona when they decided to take away the POWER WORKOUT @ NOON on power 92.3 #1 for hip hop and r&b, they told us the same day and said "by the way this is our last day..." and it was changed to old school hip hop and r&b from the early 90's and up. At least the first time they decided to take away the POWER WORKOUT @ NOON they let us know in advance and told us it was going to be old school hip hop...which sucked with intensity. Then after they brought back the POWER WORKOUT @ NOON with a d.j. that actually knew how to mix, they sounded better. Now that it's been taken away again, it's old school once again, still no old school over 115 bpm, but at least it's much better than the previous old school hip hop they had - I actually hear songs that I know and that bring back memories of some of the best times of my life - but I haven't listened to it for quite a while now. That d.j. that did the POWER WORKOUT @ NOON (the second time) was fired for some reason, don't know the whole story but I heard it had something to do with him broadcasting the afterhourz program live on air from a club, this was when house music, trance, breaks and stuff like that was supposed to be played but then the club allegively said no, that they want hip hop at that club. I don't know what actually happened but after this he was gone then ended up at Energy 92.7/101.1 Arizona's Dance Radio after some time. Shortly after, Energy 92.7/101.1 (106.3 in Flagstaff) decided to take away all their mix shows and I heard from him that the boss thought that the mix shows were irrelavant to the station. He was telling me that I should do a freestyle mix and send it in and try to get on the air around the same time A new job opening came up. By the time that job assignment had ended he was gone and nobody knows or would say why or if he quit. It was all good back in 1997 when he started d.j.'ing at 103.9 Arizona's Party Station, which has been bought out by 106.3 THE EDGE and is now alternative/rock, (and somehow this caused the Howard Stern program to no longer be on THE EDGE and move to 101.5 THE ZONE which is also alternative). 103.9 Arizona's Party Station was the best for freestyle (of course after power 92 went all hip hop trying to surpass the amount of hip hop 103.9 played when they first came out). They were mostly urban rhythmic with dance mix shows playing Angelina, M:G, Jocelyn Enriquez, Lil Suzy, Jossette,...etc. Somehow I requested Jossette enough to get it played 3 times in regular rotation. M:G was thrown in regular rotation, and so was Kim Del Fierro and Jocelyn. However, S.F. Spanish Fly was not. They were the ones to play the bass remixes of songs and it was a true party station...... .. . ..but they no longer exist so I will let it rest now. I will just be thankful for ENERGY 92.7/101.1 (106.3 IN FLAGSTAFF) and POWER 92.3 #1 for hip hop and r&b.
-PURPOSELY I decide not to mention the GAY 104.7 KISS F.M. ..... AND without getting into detail about it I end my post here and remain in a good mood because certain stations in other states that are also streaming are getting ready to do some live dance mix shows, unlike the Gay 10........................o.k. let me just stop here and this concludes my post for this forum.
Let me add that Memorial day is coming up... this means something for certain Arizona and California stations.... I'll be back next week to post about that.
I'm happy to say that it is now 4:07a.m. here in Phoenix......... or shall I say I'm unhappy about it? -EITHER WAY IT GOES,- that is, or was the time, for it has now proceeded to be 4:08a.m. YESTERDAY I went to bed around 5:30 a.m. At this time, this is when, and the only time when you can hear any house/trance on 104.7kiss f.m. - DURING THEIR AFTER-AFTERHOURZ mix show from 4a.m. to 6a.m. I may also like to add that YESTERDAY I did not hear it, after they did their stupid little mix from the club and the BAKA BOYZ hip hop master mix (which is way too hard and sounds too good to be on a gay radio station), they went right back to regular format/rotation... and that's my polite way of saying it. TODAY!, right at 4a.m. I went to see what they were doing, they finished their little gay mix live from club gay, some ......... guy comes on the radio and says after commercials "another 30 minutes of hit music including... (will not attempt to post the artists names here) on the way next..." and they hit regular format. THEY DROPPED THEIR TRANCE/HOUSE AFTERHOURZ MIX SHOW FROM 4 TO 6A.M. FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS! NOW THERE IS NO DANCE MUSIC AT ALL ON THE STATION. Every friday on the Gay 104.7 KissFM (call letters as I know it, KGAY), they do a back in the day mix from 5 to 6p.m. This was also one of the only times you could hear any dance music - classic freestyle, euro, and house, with of course pop, selected gay hip hop songs, and stuff like that. Lina Santiago, Jocelyn, and Planet Soul was played along with all the "don't stop the rock", "egyptian lover", "play at your own risk" and stuff that sounds like that in quick mix fashion. Lately when I last checked they haven't been doing it and stayed as far below 115bpm as possible. I just cannot believe what is going on. I cannot describe how much gayer they have become! It is completely unbelievable that this could happen. I have a list of TOP 40 RADIO STATIONS! in other states that do play dance music or at least have dance mix shows at certain times or on the weekends and I will post them all throughout the week because someone tried to argue that dance music is no longer top 40. As much as this may be true, This doesn't mean that any dance artist at all or any artist that had a dance hit become popular should just be thrown out or rejected from regular playlist - mixshows - and live club broadcasts! I can't believe how Gay it has become - and I must capitalize the G in Gay to express the level of the station! soon I think I will just have to surpass capitalizing the whole word and call it Lesbian because Gay just does not describe it anymore but I feel bad because I think it's a desrespect to homosexuals to use those words to describe that station - it's more like an insult. I would be insulted if what I was called had anything at all to do with that station. - THAT's IT - I'm done! I have now made up my mind that removing that station from all my radios, discmans, and whatever I may have that may pick up radio stations was the right choice. The only problem is that we have a family car and that station is always on one of the presets. Everytime I try to move it to the last preset, somebody keeps putting it back! (I don't remove it because I know if I do they will preset the entire car stereo to that station, and if I somehow miss that one day and discover it while I'm in traffic, I may get into an accident.) Maybe most of you are thinking that it cannot be that bad but I hope I at least described it in such a way that you can feel the mood of the situation. For anybody that is planning on having a sex change, I would recommend not getting surgery, but just visit this website www.1047kissfm.com - and if they have online streaming, you're all set!!!!! If I ever go out with any woman that mentions, asks me to listen to, or suddenly just starts listening to THE GAY 104.7 kiss fm, I would immediately have to end the relationship because it would have interferred with my religion, for it is now against my religion for 104.7 to be played at any place that I'm at.
Power 92.3 #1 for hip hop and r&b has just completed their Projectgroove dance mix show! good job well done! I am proud of the hip hop & r&b station.
(it is now 4:56 a.m.)
...I really shouldn't be mad because it's "the new 104.7 kiss f.m.". They never get old because they keep changing it - it's been new since the beginning of 1999! I'm kind of happy about this because logically thinking, this means if I buy a car NOW, it will still be new in 2009! - just as long as I keep changing it. This would work perfectly because I do have to change the tires, get some ajustments, get it repaired, and can you imagine the amount of oil changes that will take place? I think I will actually have to sell the car at a higher price than when I bought it because as much as I change it it will always be new! The mileage will change, the value will change - A few people may argue with me when I try to sell it and some may get upset but I will just have to explain my logic to them -> the new 104.7 kiss f.m. has been "new" since 1999 since they kept changing things about their station, so as long as I keep changing things about my car, I can continue to say it's new. I just wont accept it if they ask me to change the price.
this morning I wake up to my sisters blasting 104.7 on the living room stereo and their room stereo's. I repeat, this morning I wake up to my sisters blasting 104.7 on the living room stereo and their room stereo's...........................................
THEY WERE BLASTING THE GAY 104.7 kiss fm LOUD ON THE STEREO AS I WAS TRYING TO SLEEP! I tried to accept it and say to myself that it is not really all that bad, it's just music on the radio BUT I CANNOT DO IT! I HEARD NO DANCE MUSIC AT ALL! NONE! they could have AT THE LEAST played the sugababes, cherie, enrique iglesias f/ kelis....at the least, but THERE WAS NO UP-TEMPO MUSIC NONE WHAT SO EVER! tHIS IS UNNACCEPTABLE and something must be done about it, even if it means that I must e-mail them every single day once every 30 minutes to take care of their problem... this is too much, I have to open and post in a NEW FORUM under NEW TOPIC for this because this diserves a column of it's own. To be honest I see almost no point in 104.7 kiss f.m.'s existence here in Arizona. It's almost equal to Star*94 in Atlanta, which is also gay and have the nerve to call themselves a hit music station and say that they are top 40 when they have two new stations that are truly top 40 and playing true hit music - somebody must have got some sence and decided that something must be done about it and along came two stations there (in Atlanta).
...by the way, the LESBIAN 104.7 KISS FM is not a top 40 station - look at their playlist and judge for yourself and I rest my case.
How can they go from mixing some dance in the morning, at noon, and during the 5'oclock rush hour, then live from the club friday and saturday evenings up to 1a.m., then nonstop from 1a.m. to 6a.m. both friday and saturday late nights in addition to playing quite a few dance songs in their regular rotation to NOTHING AT ALL?!???!!?!???? Their first mess up was when they tried to be hard, go urban and try to be hip hop & r&b when they knew very well they were too gay to pull it off. Now they end up changing to whatever it is now.... I don't know what's going on. Dance music can't be so bad now that a radio station must avoid it at all costs - even if it comes to not playing anything or any artists that had a dance hit just because they feel if they play one song from them, they might have to play the previous hits that were previously popular so they just not play it. (with exception to Britney Spears "Toxic" - which is so big that they had to play it so they just started with that and skipped "me against the music"). But other than that and songs by Outkast, there is no other song that is real dance music. "Culo" by Pitbull f/ Lil Jon I wouldn't consider real dance music, and whenever they decide to start playing "move your body" by Nina Sky and say "they got it first", I also wouldn't consider that real dance music. D12 "my band" is obviously not dance.. I don't even have to get into an explanation for that. There is no Lasgo, Daniel Beddingfield, Lucas Prata, Angel City Sugarba----- I wont even get into this again, I'm done now.
make the comparesons > I don't care too much about star*94fm in Atlanta because first of all I"m not there, and if I were I would have better choices to choose from.
