Tough issue.

Sometimes people forget what it costs to make a song and how much it costs to protect it legally. Singles are usually to promote an artist and also promote an album. Singles cost the same amount in duplication and marketing costs as album would. Singles don't make much money. Albums do. As I mentioned also, Albums are a compilation of their work within a period of time. It is like a book. Does anyone buy a chapter of a book?

Downloading that can be used properly if the artist chooses to have their music to be downloaded. If you don't have permission and download it, it is taking without asking, which is stealing. What ever excuses you use to the tool, pls. be honest about it.

As well, if people understand the copyright laws, the owner has rights to how ever they choose to have their product in the publics eye whether to sell it or have it for downloads for a price or free. What ever excuses you have, bottom line, legally it is taking w/o asking.

If people want to hear what an album sounds like, write to record company ask for a sampler CD or tape which has edited songs. Or better yet, go to record store and ask them to play it. And if there are no copies of that song in your area, make your voice heard by telling the stores, many of them can order for you and also contact record companies.

I don't download music. I am like Enigma for I will spend what is necessary for my music or video.

People who are complaining about US prices, pls. visit Japan. CD;s are near 30 bucks, dvd around 60.

If people need reasons to buy music, pls. use the pen and paper or a call or type by email. That is the only way your voice will be heard and respected.

Also, what if the artist says pls. don't download my music, how many would honor their wish? Madonna had done so, and for that she gets a web site hacked. How Spiteful is that?

Here's my deal! Since I've been up in Northern MAine, there is no place to buy freestyle except Walmart. And all they have are the greatest beats CD's which I already have. Problem 2 is that I dont have a credit card to buy CD's off the net. I download old freestyle, since I'm not as familiar with the new stuff. I had over 200 CD's stolen from me. About 75 of which were freestyle!!!!! And at the time I bought those CD's I paid maybe 10-12 dollars a piece. So to go into a store now an find the same CD at $20 is ridiculous!!!! There is no reason for prices to be that high! NONE!!!! So I tend to agree with Tony G.'s friend(brother?) The whole CD better be slammin for me to pay $20! Thats why I generally prefer to buy mixed CD's when i can find them. In Florida I could find anything I wanted, but in Northern Maine it's impossibe. If I can find the Nu Image CD ,then I will buy it because I've heard some of the songs, and believe its worth it. And yeah, there are people who DL just beacuse its free, but that's not going to kill the music industry. The CD prices are what's going to bring it all down! And I have several friends who have produced freestyle CD's in the past, and they agree that there's no reason for the price increase. I understand about the artists wanting to get paid, but I also think that Enigma made a valid point. Nobody should be denied great music. I mean I've been going nuts trying to find "Dance til you Drop" by the Sleeze Boyz. And they only have the Vinyl for sale online. But I cant find it on download either! So, I'm screwed all the way around in that situation! So yeah, I see bth sides of the story.

Do you mean Robocop? That may be the reason you can't find it.

ROBOCOP....DANCE TILL YOU DROP......I like it...i like it ! 🙂
Z.o.i.d.s. is better than ROBOCOP......and very, very hard to find !
ROBOCOP is on the SLEEZE BOYZ CD (Bossman Rec) I'ts no Freestyle...!!!!! I'ts ELECTRO !!!!!!!!

It is one of those Dr Dre produced songs. I think it came out around the heels of SuperSonic and Way Out by JJFadd.

Thats not right......EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS are : Mark Gordon, Theodore Miller & Sean Thomas.....!!!!
Bossman reccords BRD-1006

I know they're not Freestyle, but so what. And the original version of the song goes "Dont stop, dance til you drop" ROBOCOP came out after when the movie came out. I'm looking for the original, not the robocop version. I already have that one. And it is Bossman records. Like I said, I know where to buy it online, but no credit card! And they only have it on vinyl. I need it on CD! But anyways, Z.O.I.D.S (AKA Freakazoids) can be found on Winmx. That is if your talking about the song that goes "I'll be your freak-a-zoid come on and wind me up". Sorry I went off topic, but thats what I use downloading fr, is to get hard to find songs!

I don't download Freestyle Music...cause Im a collector. I have about 80 CDs...and some that I bought I paid $50-$100 (Out Of Print...call me crazy).

Now tell me something...where on a CD can I find Latin Rascals It Must Be You Extended Mix??? So Im gonna miss out on this and not download it for enjoyment? What about TPE's songs? Some will miss out on those they no longer on CD. For rare songs...downloaded is a tool you definately need. If studios didnt make sufficient copies...if those CDs are not on the shelf...how can you be so cruel and shout out the human race from hearing the power of music?

I totally agree with you Enigma. 😉 I have about 75 - 80 Freestyle CD's including Compilations myself and also 450 - 500 12" Singles which are very hard to find now a days, so I too am a collector of Freestyle Music and Music in general, but like you said, there are some songs out there that are just impossible to find in any store any where, so if someone has it on WinMX, which is what I'm on, then I'm sure as hell gonna try to get if from there, and create my own RARE OLD SCHOOL FREESTYLE CDs....it's as simple as that. 😀

i could understand howe downloading hurts the industry, and it sux for the artists but i guess im hypocritical cuz i use it too....there are alot of old music that ive gotten from kazza or imesh or whatever... a whole bunch of 80's songs that ive always wanted...i used to buy 2 cds a week growing up and now i only buy a cd that i know is worth the 15 bux!!!......there should be like a 4 yr law...song has to be 4 yrs old in order to be downloaded, that way record companies make their money lol......
