Ok, I need to vent. I know I haven't been around much the last 2 weeks, but that's cause things have been crazy and hectic with the new semester starting and my hours changing at work. But anyway, I'm just ready to scream cause these past 2 weeks of commuting have been absolute hell. As most of you know, I transferred to NYU last year, and since I live relatively close, I decided not to dorm and opt for commuting. Now sure there were somedays where the commute was bad, but for the most part, it was ok. I would either take the train and get off in the village and walk across town to class or I would take the bus into the city (which would leave me at Port Authority on 42nd) and then take the subway downtown. Anyway, to make a long story short, this year it seems to be as though it takes me longer to get t where I'm going and also more aggrevating. My first class is at 8am, and in order to be there on time I have to leave my house no later than 6. A two hour commute? WTF? It should take no more than an hour! And being that I have a short temper as is, you can just imagine how I feel by the time I actually GET to class. Then coming home is the same. I'm done with classes by 12 and have to back in Jersey at work by 1:30, and half the time I just barely make it. So I've been more bitchier than normal these past 2 weeks cause of commuting hell. If any others have commuter horror stories, feel free to post away. I'm just thinking it's only September and the semester isn't over till December, and that's a pretty long way to go. I better not start pulling my hair put over this, cause then I'll be bald by semester's end! LOL Thanks all for reading. I just needed to vent that out.

:wave Meg hope your week gets better and by the time u know it Dec will be here

i had a horrible commute last year when i started working for verizon..i live on long island and the training center was all the way in morriston new jersy..about 61 miles from my house...at the time i had just been laid off so i could not afford to pay for a motel..much less gas and 14.00 in tolls everyday..getting up at four tirty am to get to class by eight thirty..you wanna talk about road rage!!?? one day coming home i got so mad.it was pouring rain traffic was moving literally 5 mph..i pulled over..got out of my car.and just yelled WTF am i doing this for!!!..I thought about just not showing up the next day..quitting..then i said just give it one more week..a year later im one of the most sucessful salesman in my zone..making good money..point is..it sucks it really really really sucks..but sacrifice is what gets you to the next level...dont be discouraged meg🙂

yup I know the story........ door to door (Staten Island to Union Square area) driving with no traffic is about 25 minutes........ but on a normal rush hour morning it can take between 1½ to 2 hours on the express bus......... :barf ........ the last few days were especially bad cause of all the 9/11 emergency drills going on around town........

Thanks guys! And yeah Tae, your right. In May this will all pay off when I get that diploma in my hands. 🙂 It's just it wasn't even half this bad last year. Oh well. I think my commute will be a little less crazier when they reopen the PATH station in dowtown Manhattan in November.

i know how you fel meg, it's taking me 1 hr. to get to journal sq. from our lovely town of bayonne.usually it takes 20 mins. but every day this week it's about an hour. so i feel ya!! i would think since alot of peeps are still without jobs it would lessen traffic.

Wow Aim, sorry to hear that! I remember when I was still at NJCU there were 1 or 2 times it would take an hour just to get there when it's normally only 10 or 20 mins! Hey, you could prolly walk faster to JSQ , cause sometimes that damn #10 takes forever.
