I have fallowed JEnnifer's career for a long time and seen her grow as an actress and artist.There are alot of HATERS out there about her,I dont know why.She has always been true to what she is and loyal to her fans.Also,she is one of the very few artists to mention FREESTYLE music and the love and pride she has for it.When I hear people saying oh Veronica is better and should be were Jennifers at or this certain actress of latina descent should be here other than Jennifer.I find it both sad and disturbing that eveyone thinks one latina should be at top??????Come on the more the better,If your Latino and saying this bullshit you dogging the whole latino population in general.AS latinos we got to stick together.You dont hear BLACK OR WHITE people saying these things about their own culture,there more suppotive thats why the BLACK/WHITE population is ruling both the charts and film/tv.You should not say this latino should be ahead of this latino,there's room for alot more.IT is bad enough that both The BLACK and WHITE population are misinterpuring who we are,if we dont stick together and support latinos there will be no JENNIFER LOPEZ,MARC ANTHONY,THALIA,There so many out there let our voices be heard.

Although I agree with everything your saying brotha, I wouldn't go as far as telling them to shiut the fcuk up, if they have nothing nice to say..LOL look it's like this. I am for all the latinos to be at the peak of everything they can get thier hands on. being the "majority minority" we should have our hands in everything and being proud of it too! I know I am😉 but not everyone is going to like what we like. me for instance, I can't stand Rosie Perez, as an actress, I don't think she does anything, as a matter of fact, I think they use her because of her voice and they use her in stereotypical roles which is even worse! but as far as all the other ones you mentioned, I am there with you😉

I'm sure the other "communities" feel the same about themselves, we just don't hear it much.lol
 
WELL I would have disagee about ROSIE,she is one of my top choices I look at,if I want to become an actor.WELL I wont go into who I like or dont like,I am just saying LEt's stick together and support one another.I read in Hispanic magazine one of the reasons why we dont get things done is because were not vocal enough like the black people are,which is why their on top tv shows,getting their music played,and are in alot of music.IT is true that were not all going to like all the latinos who are trying to make it,just dont hate on them.I dont like WiLMER vALDERAMA from "THAT 70's SHOW",I think its a negative sterotype and he sucks as an actor.But At the same time I am glad that there is a latino on that popular show.I was just trying to get attention on shuting the f**k up,if you have nothing nice to say,because I sure dont follow that rule.AND definitly believe in free speech!LOL NYASIA,I am still a huge fan. :nyasia

if you've noticed that now instead of haivng the "TOKEN" black brotha in the movies, now they have the "TOKEN" latina in the movies..lol it's kind of hysterical actually. Even the soap operas have alot of hispanic bajapanties working in them!.lol

I could never stand her since she was in a movie that she falsly accused a man (the big black guy from FAST TIMES AT RIDGMONT HIGH) of rape and assault and the poot guy suffered in jail!

Kenny!..LMAO that's just a role she played in..lol it's not her fault..lolol its just that she hasn't done anything to catch myattention, but like i said that's my opinion.

Kenny I've heart that too for quite some time now. But she's J LO so they overlook those things.
 
Any Latino/Latina..whether they have talent in singing or not, talent in acting
or not, modeling or not, whatever the situation may be, whether they are
successful or not, you have to give them credit, because as Latinos, they took
a chance in Life, in venturing in the entertainment business, which gives them
no gurarantees, but the opportunity to do what they like to do.

No matter what the outcome, in the end you have to give it to them because
they had the strive in their lives to make something of themselves,they worked
hard to get somewhere, anywhere, and if they reach the top, talentless..who
cares, they made it, they reached their goal!

You don't have to like everyone...but some have been at it since they
were younger & you could relate to them because they were young latinos
as yourselves, and to follow their careers to the point were they are bigger
than you could have imagined, and as talented as they may or not be,
it makes you, but feel proud of them & their efforts..

You're right about giving people credit for striving for what they want and becoming successful. I don't knock her for having the success. I just don't think she can sing. That's all. Just another opinion. Nothing more and nothing less.

BTW, Heidee, my husband and I had dinner last night and we ran into Angel (formerly of TKA, Believe Lumidee's manager). He said he just came back from Europe.
 
Yes, i agree Labetty..she can't sing, lumidee can't either alot of
my friends tampoco..but their music becomes catchy & you dont
even realize it..LOL..

Ahhhh..u saw Angel..ahhh how nice ma...he's always running into
people!! yes..he went to Germany & Switzerand w/lumidee, who he
does road manage..they're everywhere believe it or not..
In Germany he even ran into my homy(we frm the same hood)

Sorry to offend you but I just can't take Jennifer seriously as an "actress" or a "performer". And I probably never will. Yes, she's a Puerto Rican and yes, she's from the Bronx, but that doesn't mean shit to me when I look at the overall picture. To me, she was at the right place at the right time and the role of "Selena" made her.

When she first came out with "On The 6", I was so phucking happy that we had a Boricua reppin' for the rest of us. I thought she was the hottest thing on Earth, I loved her and everything she did. But, after "J.Lo", she started to fade. I wasn't impressed, to say the least. I was bored with her. Here she is surrounded by all this hype, and for what? Because she has a great ass and every dude on that planet want's to tap that ass? Please, she can be dropped like the drop of a dime.

You fellas are the one's that gas her presence up. She's a studio-made singer. She can't write 90% of her own material. Read the credits, yo. The one's that put her ass on the map are the one's that write those songs and those hot beats. She doesn't tour, she can't stay married for more than a week. And you want her to represent "US" Latinos? Please, I'm all set.

And she's true to her fans? How so? Word is, she's actually a bitch. She came around the block to visit her mom a few years ago, down on Blackrock Ave. in Castle Hill, and she even made a quick stop to Holy Family on Castle Hill, and she thought she was hot shit. She didn't get out of her Limo and she didn't even have time to say "Hi" and "Thank You" to those same people that put her up there!

So, to end this- she's tired. Truly. Let's see how well her next album does. I don't hate her, but I'm tired of her and the hype that people like you feed of off. If you want talent, look beyond that ass and green Versace dress. Ask yourself, "What has she contributed to society" or "What has she contributed to the music world". Nothing.

So will the real artists that write their own material and play their own instruments PLEASE STAND UP.
 
veronica is a good singer. i however like jlo. i find her movies to be good. i will say that her last cd was not that good. she is getting soft now.
 
I was a big fan of JLO starting with Selena, and I loved her first 2 albums. However, once she started to date Ben Affleck and was all over the news, she really started to annoy me. Not to mention that I really didnt care for her last cd...I had it and sold it back. Im white, but I love Hispanic people..my dislike for her has nothing to do with her ethnicity. I just think she is played out and she really doesnt have a good voice. Hey, I feel the same way about Britney Spears too...lol

yea when her n ben got 2gether forget it it got really annoying... shes beautiful i dont like her singing her acting is koo but when ju dont agree with some pricans/lations bout her singing da first thing you get is ohh how come shes a rican/latina doing her thing blah blah<< annoys da hell out of me i dont care wut u r if i dont like it it stays as dat i dont gotta agree just cuz shes rican...
