Is Dance Music Dead?

Something is rotten in the state of dance; clubs are closing left, right & centre, the record industry can't seem to find the next big thing, and even Ibiza is feeling the pinch.

Meanwhile, the freedom to dance that was a vital part of rave culture has been replaced by all-nighters sponsored by mobile phone companies. Has the dance music bubble burst? Have corporate clubs killed the spirit of dance music?

Is dance music dead........What do you think and if you say it's dead, what do you think the reasons are for it? :confused

No. Dance music is not dead. If it was dead, Whitney, Mariah, Mary J and many others wouldn't include a "club mix" on their singles.

Dance clubs are closing because the club owner's are all corrupt and allow illegal shit to pass through their clubs, i.e. drugs. Drugs are closing these clubs. Not the music.

The recording industry can't seem to find the next best thing because their is a lack of true talent and individuality. There are too many Beyonce's, Brittany's, Mandy's, Jennifer's, Ashanti's, Justin's, etc. Funny how there is only ONE Madonna.

Vocal talent, along with some great production would be artist's like Veronica, Reina, Kim English, DJ Encore. DJ Sammy, Amber, etc.

But, they are too "cultural" or "ethnic" for mainstream America.

🙁 I'VE HEARD ALOT OF GARBAGE DANCE MUSIC LATELY..WOW..STUFF THAT SHOULDN'T BE ON VINYL..AND MAYBE THE ECONOMY?..PEOPLE ARE HOLDING ON TO THEIR MONEY..JUST A THOUGHT..I KNOW FOR ME..I AM SO TIRED OF THE SAME "TIRED REMIXERS"..EVERYTHING SOUNDS THE SAME..WE NEED NEW BLOOD..🙁

Dance Music is fine.

The Music industry as a whole is in a slump!! Record sales are terrible for the last 3 years(before 9/11/01).

The teen pop burn out of 2001 has contrubitred some. Right now, there just is not good stuff on the radio period whether it be Pop, Dance and even Hip Hop

Rock is the only genre right now that is putting out a quality product.
