Right now Q-102 is playing "I KNOW YOU LOVE ME" by Trinere during the 12 Noon Work-Out...

They usually stick to more mainstream stuff even during the 12 noon mix (Stevie B, Lil Suzy, Coro, Pajama Party, Cover Girls, Debbie Deb, etc.)

Q-102 still sucks...Freestyle music is what made the station, period. As the years passed by and they abandoned Freestyle they seemed to have forgotten their roots!

They even identified the song as being by Trinere after it was over...This is getting even more interesting!

Hot 103/97 was good back in the day, but Q-102 played at least twice as much Freestyle as Hot 97 ever did!!!

When I lived in East Brunswick, NJ I had the best of both worlds as I was able to listen to both Hot 97 and Q-102 during both stations prime years (1989-1991)...Hot 97 played whatever Freestyle was popular at the time - Q-102 played the whatever was popular plus any other Freestye sonf they could get thier hands on. They would play lesser heard stuff like "DREAMS" by Lia Marquis in regular rotation...

Besides - you have KTU which from what I have plays more Freestyle than Q-102 on any given day.

All 102 plays in regualr rotation is "TAKE ME IN YOUR ARMS", "SPRING LOVE", "I'LL BE LOVING YOU" and "IN A DREAM"...

HOT 103/97 WAS THE SHIT, SCOTT BLACKWELL, GLENN FRISCIA, FREDDIE BASTONE, FRANCO IMMELLO, THE MUSIC THEY PLAYED, THE RECORDS THEY BROKE, IT WAS A GREAT TIME, EVERYTHING WAS SO FRESH,AND THEY MADE EVEN THE BAD HOUSE TRACKS SOUND GOOD...

u guys in philly get a freestyle mix every day? and toronto, as canada's biggest freestyle place, has a small broadcast once a week? not fair

Hell no - during the "12 noon work-out" they play a few Freestyle songs mixed in with hip-hop, house, r&B and disco...

KTU SUCKS!!!

also rhoq...when i was in philly george lamond had a hey this is george lamond spot on some station...no clue which one...it was a highligh for my time there!!!

Hmmm...I have no clue what station that could have been (La MEGA perhaps?), unless you were dreaming!!!

I gotta agree with Rhoq...I went to boarding school in Paoli, PA, back in 89-90, and i heard a lot of Freestyle on Q102....come to think of it they played some in 96 when i was in philly...though i don't ever recall hearing DREAMS

Rhoq, Q102 also plays "Dreamboy, Dreamgirl" in their regular freestyle rotation. I've noticed they've added a lot more dance in general the past couple of months. They are playing DJ Sammy's "Heaven" 97 times a week. It's their top played song.

probabley mega then rhoq...my friend was switching stations and i heard brenda k starr...so then when he said hi i was like thats george lamond!!!! and i was right!!!! LMAO but then we changed the station...but they were saying it in english, if it was a spanish station why would they have thier air spots in english?

Back in 95/96 Q-102 tried to give Freestyle another chance and they played "IN & OUT OF LOVE" by Segio (Adam Marano version), "DIED IN YOUR ARMS" by Intonation, "FANTASY" by Acid Factor and a few others. Since quality Freestyle songs were few and far between they soon gave up on it again.

Yes, "DREAMBOY/DREAMGIRL" by Cynthia & Johnny O is played in regular rotation, but you have a better chance of hearing Stevie B., Lil' Suzy, Collage or Rockell.

"HEAVEN" by DJ Sammy is in no way Freestyle.

George LaMond speaking in english on La Mega is a possibility. On occasion they do play some english language songs and sometimes they speak in english over the air...

----

Joe I have a secret to confess...I have sent a few e-mails to Q-102 over the past 2 or 3 weeks to serve as a reminder of their roots...
