Cuts?

The current greatest hits CD is great, but could you put the original cuts of the songs on the newer greatest hits cd? I prefer the originals over the remixes found on the greatest hits cd. Actually, could you put the versions that B96-Chicago played on the new CD? For the most part I liked their versions of songs best.

dude, why the hell are they gonna be releasing another greatet hits albums. what the hell man. just release an entire new album already. all the hits they ever had is on the "92" release. so why the hell are they making a another g hits album. im sorry...i just cant go with "when will i see you again" alone, especially when i could hear it everyday off of napster. and plus i dont think the public has been anticipating for that kinda album and have been waiting almost a decade for this shit. i say they need to make at least 12 new songs and ill be nice enough to say that "when will i see you again" can stay as one of their new singles on the "forever" cd.

Forever

"WHEN" will be on "Forever", and as you requested 12 to 14 new songs will be on the new release as well...
You guys are in for a very special treat in the very near future.

Ty Bless - You mentioned in your original message that the only Old School Freestyle to be found on the new TKA album will be "WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN"...How is this song Old School in sound? It sounds like all of the other progressive/new school crap out there. Now if you feel that the Old School Freestyle sound revolves around and relies upon "Planet Rock" may I suggest that you do your Freestyle home work and in the mean-time stick with doing guest rap vocals on K-7 projects.

The "Planet Rock" explosion ocurred in the early 1990's and we haven't been able to get rid of it since. The over-use of Planet Rock loops combined with un-original material (remakes and such) and lackluster productions (by everyone and their mother) and cheesy vocals turned Freestyle into the stinking pile of crap that it is today...As a matter of fact there have only been 3 TKA songs (not including "WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN") that had a miami style beat (P-Rock, or a variation of it)..."X-RAY VISION" (12" Version), "LOUDER THAN LOVE" and "IS IT LOVE" (with Tony Moran)...

Going by that post you obviously do not know what Old School Freestyle is. Maybe you should pop in your copy of TKA'S GREATEST HITS to get re-accquainted with the sound, bro...

ok sorry to get off topic here lol but i hope the new tka album isnt called "forever" cuz all it makes me think about is puffys album with the same name. aaaaH and isnt that the album puffy sampled PLANET ROCK on????

:0)

Ignorance is bliss.
Did I strike a nerve Rhoq?
I didn't mean to offend anyone with my planet rock comparisons, but I 'm just calling it how I see it. I didn't say that old school freestyle was only Planet Rock. I explained to you the mentality of TKA. I can't speak for freestyle music as a whole. That's because I'm intellegent enough to know that freestyle means different things to different people.
Opinions are like a-holes we all have one. While some of us act like them.
Let me brief you on me since you want to get to know me personally. I was there in the early eighties as an 11 year old opening for TKA( with Spider, and Aby) with another local Spanish HArlem Group. Every other weekend at St. Francis De Sales. I was there when Latin Hip Hop now popularly known as freestyle was being born because I'd lived in Spanish Harlem my enitre life. You wouldn't know about the feelings in the streets when songs like "One More Shot" was banging out and everybody was losing their minds becasue we had something to call our own on the radio and on wax. You wouldn't know about the Jamz in Carver Projects with the turntables plugged into the light post, because you weren't there. This is the exact point I'm trying to make when I ask everyone to release your selves...and open your minds for the music. Nevermind the artist, or your opinions of what you think the music should sound like. Respect creativity for what it is. I never said you had to like it, but if your true you'd respect it. You would never bring negativity into your cypher because you would want it to remain pure. I post these messages about my group for all my positive friends with intellegent things to say and offer. To those who have valid opinions and solutions. I see a lot of drama coming out, a lot of finger pointing and name calling, but I don't see any answers or solutions.
Coming at me professionally is a little out of control. You don't even know what I'm about, how I rock, or what I represent. You have no idea.;0\ I live this lifestyle everyday.
TKA will bring it all back. TKA will change the game once again with their new effort and all those who remain positive and focused will be able to grow with us once again. The Rhoqs of the world can insult me and bitch and moan about freestyle in these forums, while I live out it's rebirth and be a part of creating it's best music yet.
You may still live vicariously through me because I will keep the positive informed.... while you continue to hate on me and the music you claim to be trying to keep alive.

Yo Ty you gotta understand where we the fans are coming from though. Its funny that TKA split for personal reasons yet all of a sudden they are getting along again. The way the public sees it , it's all about the almighty DOLLAR. I have no opinion on TKA. I COULD CARE LESS IF THEY CAME BACK. But I am not a hater, I support freestyle no matter who makes it. Be it the East Coast, the West Coast, Stevie B or TKA. To me it's all good. I support it all. But don't try to tell us that we don't know what's up. It's just the way sh!t is presented to us. It looks as if they are hurting for money is all. If I was Tony or Angel & if it was true that Kayel left to pursue his own career further, or that they couldn't get along I would tell him to go to hell. But I have no idea what is going on with them. I am just a fan. I am not into the behind the scenes drama. I just buy what I like. I have K7's single stuff & I like it. I will buy TKA's new records. But just do me a favor everybody, Let It Ride...............wait til the summer to see what happens. Quit jockin TKA already, "cos that's what they want.

Go MakaYaDance...

Well, I am NOT the greatest TKA fan, coz here, in Canada, we get none of that... but thing is, y'all make a damn BIG deal out of this whole sh!T! Ya know, whether it's MONIES or whatever else that forced them to split, none of this can make any difference. They got back together? WHy do U all care so much, not that they're the greatest freestylerz out there. As for me... I don't give a damn. So please, stop wasting your time, get over. The rumour is pretty old y'know.
So lates gang. 😀

~ no hard feeling for da fanz ~

Much respect to you Makeyadance.
That's the way to voice your opinion and your entiled.
See you in the summer.

TKA FOREVER

Alright Tyree just gave the real deal on TKA. So all i can say is keep looking out and appreciate what you get.The new stuff will be out as soon as it is ready.

bro stop coming on this board and insulting us hard core freestyle fans!!!! we are only looking out for our music, and we hold grudges for people who hurt it!!!! u are obvioulsy not a freestyle fan...WITHOUT US TKA WOULD AND WILL NOT BE ANYTHING, remember that!!!!!! so chill!!! respect us and stop insulting us, cause the only ignorance u were refering to is with u!!!!! and dont hurt thier record sales before it even gets a release (if it ever gets a release) 🙂

Ty Bless - don't be mistaken...I am in no way a "hater". I simply pointed out a few things to you. As far as moving on and what have you, that is all well and good. I couldn't care less. As the Freak stated above, this whole TKA thing is getting pretty stale.

Just about 1 year ago to the day, Joey Gardner made an appearance on the Freestyle Nation BBD announcing that TKA has reunited for all intents and purposes. He also stated that they were back in the studio working on what was going to be their "greatest song yet"..."WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN". Estimated release date June 2000...

As we were nearing the proposed release date of the new single, Joey & TKA announced that a new Greatest Hits package - THE BEST OF EVERYTHING would be released soon after (August 2000)...

June 2000 - "WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN" gets pushed back to a July 2000 and then an August 2000 release, while THE BEST OF EVERYTHING gets pushed from August 2000 to September, October & November 2000 and also January 2001.

The projects also went from being self-distrubuted by Timber, to being distrubuted by Robbins, then back to self distribution, and lastly, distributed by Warlock.

Needless to say, "WHEN WILL I SEE YOU" was never released to the public. A few Timber promo copies were pressed. I speak for many when I say, this song was a huge disappointment to fans who have been supporting TKA since they dropped their first single in 1986...

THE BEST OF EVERYTHING never surfaced and TKA and Joey Gardner parted once again...

February 2001: Edwin Ramos, Ty Bless and a few others come onto the scene speaking on TKA's behalf - The bottom line is this: We have heard all of this before. It is time to actually see a finished product...It is also time that that TKA speak for themselves and stop hiding behind others...

Who is Ty Bless to me? Someone who made a guest rap vocal appearance on K-7's "VOULEZ VOUS", a name associated with www.harlemknight.com and www.timberrecords.com (both of which no longer seem to be on-line) and someone who, in February 2001, has come on-line to act as TKA's voice.

Thank you for elaborating on your identity, it is nice to know that you have been with TKA since their inception. I may be harsh at times, but I feel just as jaded as many others when it comes down to this TKA thing...

Another issue is this. Some people reprt that the new TKA will feature a lot of Freestyle, while others say it won't feature any at all...Possibly you can set the record straight for us untrue fans

Hello for the final time,
I'm glad we got to air out any and all of the frustration that has been going on since the announcement of the projects in question. I'm actually happy to see that the fan s are just as frustrated as I am about the whole thing and really have the same feelings as I have about it, just for different reasons. Rhoq and toni I now understand you and your point of views. I understand your stance and I can totally respect that. I absolutely appologize to the hardcore freestyle fans that I may have offended but offending anyone was not my intention. I was trying to make a few things clear. I know you think that TKA wouldn't be anything without their fans, this is true.
But where would the music have gone or how many of you would still be hardcore fans if they hadn't stepped on the scene to make a record. I think the point I'm trying to make is that we need eachother to survive, and one can not exist without the other. It's not about me or TKA. It's about you and the music. Peace and one love to you all!

P.S. It was not a guest appearance. It was me doing my part of being the producer and rapper of the project that was actually called K7 and TyBless. "Voulez Vous" was just one of the singles of an unreleased project on the horrible Select Records. But thanks for remembering. Since 1995 I have been acting as K7's and presently TKA's Manager, yeah and I guess you can say voice, but soon they will speak for themselves.
