FOr those who think that an artist gets in this game and does not wish fame and fortune is a bigger idiot than the guys who dropped the ball in the FBI! Any artist, in any genre wants to hit it big. Wants to live doing what they love, to create music. Unfortunately, the labels don't give that chance to anyone. Thus, why freestyle is the state it is now. THE EFFORT WAS THERE PEOPLE, LET'S NOT BE STUPID AND SAY IT WAS NOT. YOU ASK ANY ARTIST AND THEY WILL TELL YOU WHAT THEY DID TO TRY TO PRY THAT MAJOR LABEL OPEN. I KNOW THE WAY THE LABELS WORK CAUSE MY COMPANY SIGNED A HIP HOP ARTIST TO ELECTRA AND WE ARE ABOUT TO SIGN TWO MORE. SO, FIRST TO ALL THOSE HERE THAT CLAIM THEY KNOW ABOUT THE INDUSTRY. FIRST, GET A DEAL WITH A MAJOR LABEL AND THEN YOU CAN DECIDE WHO KNOWS AND WHO DOESN'T KNOW (UM TORRESONE69 YOU BETTER LEARN THIS GAME FIRST BEFORE SAYING SOMEONE IS FULL OF IT.) I DON'T GO AROUND PUSHING WEIGHT BUT I CAN'T STAND SOMEONE CLAIMING SOMEBODY ELSE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS INDUSTRY WHEN I HAVEN'T HEARD A PEEP FROM THEM ON WHAT THEY ACCOMPLISHED IN THE INDUSTRY THEMSELVES.

Now, Labels control the life of a genre. They saw the demise of freestyle way before the fans did. The backdoor deals, the bad management, the non cooperative artists. They saw alot of bad and quickly closed their doors. How can you get big, whether you try or your management if the major labels don't want to consider your material. YES, THERE WERE MANY TALENTED ARTISTS AROUND THAT DESERVED MAJOR AIRPLAY, DESERVED LABEL SUPPORT FROM THE MAINSTREAM. THEY HAD THE LOOK, THE SOUND. THE LABELS SHUT THE DOOR AND THEY AREN'T NICE ENOUGH TO OPEN THEM. THE ONLY THING THAT IS LEFT IS FOR THE FREESTYLE ARTIST TO DROP FREESTYLE AND GET INTO ANOTHER GENRE WHOSE DOORS ARE WIDE OPEN. FREESTYLE WASN'T IN DEMAND ENOUGH TO CONTINUE IT'S RUN. CASE CLOSED.



AND YOU CAN SEE THE RECENT SHOWS AT CLUB BLIS AND SEE THE FAN SUPPORT WAS NOT THERE.

I wrote it in several other threads.....For Example: Johnny O wrote, that ZYX cares about their Artists and promote them where they can.
I dont see any Big Promotions for Johnny´s new Album or Radiocommercials here in Germany.....i called some Radiostations and several of them did not know that Johnny has new Material. And as you know Johnny Recorded his new stuff here in Germany.
 
THAT IS SO WEIRD ACCORDING TO JOHNNYS POST HIS ALBUM HAS BEEN DOING GREAT IN GERMANY EVEN MENTIONED SOMETHING TO THE AFFECT OF BEING ON BILLBOARD AND WE HAVE BEEN WAITING TO SEE THE REVIEWS HERE ON CF DAYUM THATS WEIRD.
 
in JOHNNY'S defense, I have told everyone here time and time again that Johnny was takin his material to Germany FIRST. Thats what his gameplan was. Once it takes off there, it will reach us later. Success doesnt come that easily. Americans are heavily into the EUROPEAN sound right now. We get into the songs NOW that are already 6 months old in Europe.

I commend you for defending the artist. However, I will be satisfied when the artist in question defends his work and posts the information regarding his release. Then I'll call off the dogs.

You people just don't understand what I tring to say.If a Artists just sit there and wait for your label to promote you then your not going to make it big.You have to ask them over and over again until they say yes. or tell them your going to find a record company that promotes they Artists better.And thereare things you can do to promte yourself.Like put a website up.Call some clubs up there are always looking for new singers.E-mail a DJ and ask if he or she can remixes a song for them.And before people start post up that is not that easy. He a story for you.One of my friend e-mail Junior A DJ here in New York City and ask if he would mix a singel for Lil Suzy he says he would love to mix a song for her But he would have to get her ok on it.So don't say it's hard to promote yourself.If you never try it.
