I think freestyle singers don't want to become big.because everytime they a have a hit they never promote it right.I hope one day they learn how to.They never make a a video for there hit songs. They never promote they singel in big nite clubs they aways go to the same dam nite clubs for years and years. And they wait so long to release a singel and Album. And they do the same songs in clubs for years and years come on now just do one of your hits not all of them. They need Help.

I'm curious...What exactly do you define as a hit? There has not been a "Hit" Freestyle song in over 5 years now. The last one I can recall is "IN A DREAM" by Rockell...and that song was horrible.

Your so right Freestyle singer never promote they this right. They did to go on tour and Make Video and ask to be on TRL.I'am sure Mtv would Play there video If they made them.I think Lil Suzy has what it take to become a big Star like Madonna & Britney. She always has a song out every year.

WTF? Do you think they can promote an album all by themselves? Yea ok... it's so easy to just call up MTV and say, "Hi you don't know me, but I'm bringing my video and I want an interview later." Ever ask yourself what their record labels have to do with all this??? Politics baby...

Do you think artists labor over an album just for it to sit on store shelves???

Hits Like Safire And Cynthia "Can you stand the Rain" And Cynthia "If I had The Chance'' Lil Suzy "Can't get you out of my mind"

It's not the singers, im sure they would love to be huge stars but its the lack of promotion that they recieve.. for a singer to promote their music just by themselves they have to be loaded with cash,, it's the record labels who dont promote at all... look at "forever" by TKA, it's not old school freestyle but it sure as hell was a great album..Tommy Boy hardly promoted them, and that album had enough potential to make it to the top.

Martini,
Why not promote yourself. a lot of new singer promote them self. Why can't Freestyle Singer do it too. Whay not call MTV and ask them to play there Video. You never know if you don't try. Hello Vh1 and MTV played Expose & Cover girls Videos before.so why not now.

qualiy videos take massive amounts of money to both produce and promote. Most freestyle singers are signed to labels that cant back them up because there independent. Rockel shot three videos because she has a good label. though MTV wont play them..because its not their "format" of pop, rock or hip hop. it has nothign to do with teh artist askign tehm to play them. they get major incentives to play the artists that are on major labels.

ITS ESY TO SIT THERE AND TELL BE WHAT THEY SHOULD BE DOING AND NOT DOING BUT UNLESS YOU ARE IN THE BUSINESS OR HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF IT THEN YOU DONT KNOW HOW SH** IS FIRST OFF AS MARTINI SAID IF IT WERE ONLY THAT EASY TO CALL MTV UP AND SAY IM COMING WITH MY SHIT AIR IT AND WE COOL. I THINK NOT IT DONT WORK LIKE THAT PROPER PROMOTION HAS A LOT TO DO WITH IT AND A LOT OF RECORD LABLES ARE NOT WILLING TO PUT OUT THE MONEY NEEDED FOR SUCH PROMOTION, MONEY TALKS. I KNOW SO MANY PEOPLE IN TEH INDUSTRY THIRSTY TO GET THERE STUFF OUT THERE AND IT ISNT JUST IN FREESTYLE, GRANTED FREESTYLE IS THE HARDEST TO GET OUT THERE BUT ITS IN EVERY GENRE, GETTING A RECORD DEAL ALONE IS A LOT TO ASK FOR. SO FOR SOMEONE TO SAY THAT AN ARTIST DOES NOT WANT TO BE BIG IS NOT ONLY RIDUCULOUS BUT HILLARIOUS AS WELL. A LOT OF HARD WORK GOES INTO MAKING AN ALBUM WHAT ONE MIGHT SEE A HIT MAY NOT BE TO ANOTHER, SONGS ARE WRITEN AND RECORDED AND AT TIMES JUST SIT THERE. A LOT OF SWEAT IS PUT INTO PUTTING AN ALBUM TOGETHER NOT TO MENTION MONEY AND TIME, AND THAT THER IS NOT EVEN THE BEGINNING.

WEll I think it true too. Promote yourself is not hard when you have a name for yourself like LIL Suzy, Judy Torres. They have alot of fan already. So they they need to do is send out deom of there album to a record company that can promote them well.

HOW CAN YOU PROMATE YOURSELF IN AN INDUSTRY THAT DOESNT EVEN RECOGNIZE YOUR MUSIC FOR WHAT IT IS. BIG NAMES PERHAPS AMONG THE FREESTYLE INDUSTRY. FAN BASIS, STATUS ETC AINT THE PROBLEM, FOR ONE WHAT MAY SEEM TO MANY AS A BIG FOLLOWING COMPARED TO OTHER GENRES DOES NOT COME CLOSE. LIKE I SAID IT IS EASIER SAID THEN DONE.

If you look at it, Lil' Suzy had only ONE Freestyle hit (TAKE ME IN YOUR ARMS) and that was 11 years ago (the song was recorded in 1991 and released as a single in 1992)...Her second "Hit" was a euro-house song in 1995 (WHEN I FALL IN LOVE)...She has not really made any noise at the radio level since...

Judy Torres, although adored by most Freestyle fans has not a a song played on mainstream radio in 13 years (1989)...

"CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN" was only played in a handful of markets and is a MINOR hit if it can even be considered one.

"IF I HAD THE CHANCE" by Cynthia was a great song but I have never heard it outside of when I pulled out my 12" single and played it!

"CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY MIND" by Lil' Suzy, again a few stations gave it some attention but barely enough to make it a certified hit!

What do you think that Madonna Made it because of you record company.NO She knew what she wants and went for it.If freestyle Singer really want it to make it big they would. You need to be strong and now what your doing.

SexyAngel What do you know about the record company?Do you work at one to know what there do. Well I do and what you say is so full of it. Freestyle well never be big because they don't know why do promote them self right.
