always treat the fans with respect, I say. They are the ones that support your music. The least you can do is take a pic with them or sign an autograph to show your appreciation.

I have yet to run into one artist that said "NO" to me or any of my friends. (except FLAVOR FLAV) but he dont count!

LMFAO!!
Yeahhhh boyyyyyy

One time i was at a club and I went up to the guy that played "Steve" on that show 90210. I was like "OMG! OMG! I love your show! You're the guy from 90210!!!" and I couldn't even remember his real name LOL I'm sure he was impressed. I didn't ask for an autograph but I could tell I annoyed him. I was like whatever hater! LOL j/k

Nyasia makes a great point

Everyone has made a great point, but every time at every show you have the same attitude? I mean I’ve seen it over and over, not only in Freestyle but in Salsa and other genres. I can tell you that I'm a BIG Robert Deniro fan and I have heard things about him that suck but since I haven’t met him it doesn’t change anything. I already know so I wont take it to heart. But guess what we ran into Jerry Stiller (George Costanza's dad on Seinfeld and Ben Stillers real dad) at McDonalds and he was one of the most humble actor/comedian I have ever met. Everybody was flipping when they saw it was him. He turned and looked at me and said "I guess I made a splash" I shook his hand and told him it was a pleasure meeting him. He is nothing like the character he plays on TV. I ran into Bill Murray once in Central park, he acted like BIG Sh**. I can tell you stories that I have seen happen not that anyone has told me. The point is you don't want people to come up to you "all the time" at every show, you’re in the wrong business. One other thing they may not act like this around other artist.

if you think that's bad, how about going up to someone you have admired throughout the career of that individual(big freestyle personality) and saying hi and in return the dork pats me on the head! I was like WTF?!?..LOL so you see, we go through it too.

OMG Nyasia - I believe it, trust me I do

Nyasia, I like to Psych myself out before I perform and I have had shows where I get to the festival or club and people know who I am or they just want to take a picture and get an autograph and you just have to do it. I mean I know what it is to be signing for an hour or so, but you have to do it. So I know what you mean Nyasia. Coro's girl, I was in Passaic for the Puerto Rican Festival June 16, 2002, I think it was. Here is a link to the picture:
Passaic PR festival 1 Passaic PR Festival 2

I was also in May and I was also at Lucky's Nite Club August 30, 2002. Checkl out that pic: Lucky's Nite Club

And my manager is from Passaic too!

It comes with the JOB!!!

Well I see it like this! I am a performer that sings to the public. If my song is on the radio, I'm going to have shows in clubs. Which means, people who love the way I sing or love my song are going to come to see me! Which means, people are going to come up to me and want to take pictures and ask for autographs. Now, if I don't like what I do, I can see myself being a bitch. But if you love what you do, you love everything that comes with it and that means FANS and loss of privacy. How can I turn a fan down if I'm a fan myself of many artist. I can't make a person feel the way I would feel if I were turned down or given attitude by my favorite artist. For example, in Buffalo, Victor, Alex of LN and myself went to see Nya and a group of other freestyle artist perform. Well I saw Lissette Melendez and thought about taking a picture with her. Do you believe I saw her husband mumble, "here comes another one", she made such a face. And of course me being a bitch the way I am, I asked her for a picture and we made her stand there for a long time. What a bitch, gave me attitude and all. I'm sorry people, but I sing too and some days it's hard to handle but I would never treat a person much less a fan that buys my music (Royaly in my pocket), goes to the clubs and pays to see me (Money in my pocket) and spreads by word of mouth how much they like my song or how great of a show I put on, like shit. You know what, believe it or not, but if it weren't for the fans, we would all be nothing!!! Just another regular person with a regular life walking in the street. It's what we do and how we do it that makes us special. Our music has brought people together, has caused people to have change of hearts and to some made them even stronger from the words in OUR SONGS!!!! So how can we be cruel or disrespectful to the fans. Now if a fan gets out of line, that is another thread. But we owe the fans alot of our success and by smiling, taking pictures with them, and treating them as if they were part of the family. That to me is letting them know how much you appreciate their support and loyalty. But this is me and how I think, other artist may think differently. But remember one thing, that nice house or car you just brought or vacation you took with the money you made from record sells, and shows came from the fans and no one else. Peace people and God bless!😀

We Artist have to realize that it's the fans that make us or break us. I mean they spend the money to see us and wheather it's a pic or an autograph, I think as an artist that not too much to ask for. Think about it. If your doing a show somewhere other than your home town, that may be the last time those people will ever see you. And I understand beleive me the pressure we are under. Going from one spot to another. I always make it a point to have my manager schedule enogh time in between shows so I can meet as many paople as i can before I have to go. Granted you can't get everyone, but as and Artist and a fan you should put the effort. E

I agree with you Emanuel, remember that the fans do make us or break us. If we are cruel to them, what makes you think that they are going to continue to buy our music or go to the clubs to support us. Not only that but word of mouth, you go and tell a friend of your experience with a certain freestyle singer and before you know it, everyone heard about it. This is not good for us if we want to continue to make money from our music. Like I say, treat people how you want to be treated and kindness does go a long way. You don't know who you may have saved from killing themselves because you gave them a smile or an autograph or just hung out with them for a little while. To us this means nothing or very little, but to the fans, you may be their slavation or their meaning in this world.

Hey Nya, how can they not love you when you treat them as family. You are an excellent example of how more singers should be. You don't only treat us nice but you also try to get to know us. Girl your a diamond in the sky, one in a BILLION and I admire you with all my heart for being like that. You haven't allow your status in the business get to your head, God bless you for that. Wish more people were more down to earth and not with their heads stuck up in the clouds cause then they can't see the little diamond in the sky.
