I know many of us here wish we could go back to the 80's (I'm no exception). 😀
And we're all here because we love Freetsyle music. Unfortunately, many here complain
that there is "no new good music" , or that they are sick of hearing the same commercial MTV/Radio-friendly Hip-Hop, Rock, R&B, etc.
Or they sit around, waiting for our beloved Freestyle artists to release something new.
Well, You shouldn't have to!!!! GO LOOK FOR IT!
Good thing many of us on here are open to other types of music.
There are A BUNCH of new artists out there (signed or unsigned) that have great music.
Many of them fuse 80's sounds with todays flair and make something their own. Mixing Oldschool, Electro, Hip-Hop, Pop, Freestyle, with Rock, Punk, House, Funk, Disco, Classical and World music. In the end it's JUST GREAT MUSIC!
If you're open-mined, and an all-around music lover not stuck on a certain "sound", then you'll enjoy it.
For years, I've been a lil' scavenger-hunter for new sounds. Like many of you, I'm not always satisfied
with what I hear. So I seek elsewhere. Many of these artists later become huge, but it's fun to know I was hearing them (or their song)
before the mainstream. For example: Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right" was a huge hit in early-mid 2007. I had my hands on that track & the remixes a year before, back in Spring-Summer 2006! Same goes for One Republic's hit "Apologize", Gwen Stefani's "Holla Back Girl", Rihanna's "Please Don't Stop The Music", Amy Winehouse, Fergie, M.I.A., and Leona Lewis. I had most of their stuff (and other artists) 6 months to a year before it blew up. Alot of the other artists' stuff I got at those times never became huge here and remained popular only in the UK, or the underground club scenes in the U.S.
If you're a huge 80's lover check out your local Electroclash underground clubs, where the music is awesome and everyone dresses like it's 1985 in their regular every-day lives (even outside the club). Then again, todays fashion is heavily influenced on 80's anyway. As they say, every 20yrs music and fashion come around. And the millenium is the 80's turn. (Like the 70's came back in the 90's). Many of u on here are straight, but the gay clubs are also a place to hear new unreleased Dance records before anyone does.
Anyway... the point here is to stop complaining, and go out and LOOK for new music & artists that can feed your soul!
Don't wait around for the mainstream world to get into it! (At least I never did!)
Below are some songs and artists myself and friends have been jammin' to for sometime.
They are very diverse, some u may know, some u may not. You may like some songs, and not others.
But give it a try. I'm sure you'll like something.😉
