As far as remakes...Gioia covers the song "I Was Made For Loving You" by KISS in a dance version.

And for your Freestyle fanatics...many times in the past when I worked for Gioia we got requests for Freestyle....Although I've only heard a sample, there's a song called "Happy" on the album which is very much Freestyle-esque combined with breakbeat sort of 🙂 Also "Going Going Gone" (a fan favorite from the past) has been put on this album and it has a few elements of Miami Freestyle on it!

Just got back from Culture Club....it was a great night.

They played all 80's dance music......Madonna, Sheila E., New Order, Depeche Mode, Judy Torres, Sweet Sensation, TKA, Marshall Jones, Debbie Gibson, Maurice......people were screaming for the music.

Gioia hit the stage with two male dancers, and did a 5 song set. She sang:

Come Go With Me
I Was Made For Lovin' You (Kiss remake off her new album)
Let Me Be The One
Be Mine (next single off her new album)
Point Of No Return

She was all over that stage, dancing and singing her butt off.

Definitly recommend seeing her, and I wish her luck with her new material!

Really piling on the trips that are over my official "cap" of four hours each way:

Alisha in January...KYLIE at Club Avalon in February :boing , then Samantha Fox in Boston the following weekend :1luv, and now this! Usually I just do one or two 6-hour-plus road trips a year, and here's FOUR already! :cool
 
Argh -- it was a private party, so no chance of getting in, but I just found out from her site that she was in SYRACUSE back in April!! :bangbang

Just got the CD, and LOVE what I've heard so far! 😀

There's a store here that reopens every Monday night at midnight, to get those extra sales on new releases, and the drive home was just long enough to get through (and including) track six. 🙂 (I don't have it on right now, when I'm online I focus on that, and ANYTHING else in the house gets tuned out as random background noise)

Funny thing is, though, I get the feeling they only received one or two copies -- I couldn't find it at first, and when I asked at the register the only entry they found in the computer was "From The Inside", the name of her single from awhile back. He went to look through the new stock, and DID find the new album, but it actually took a few minutes! ME searching the place, I could see taking a few hours -- the place really DOES look like the proverbial tornado went through it! :lol -- but for someone who works there... 😱

Thanks Scott for the track listing. I was excited to see that "Going going gone" was included on this release. I loved that song when I heard it for the first time about 4 years ago. I am thinking this is a more updated version. I was surprised to see "From the inside" not included. I can't wait to get mine today!!!

I finally got Gioia's CD in the mail and all I can say is WOW!!! Excellent CD. The only song close to Freestyle would be "Happy" which is more breakbeat than anything, nonetheless a really good song...one of my favs off the new CD. "Going Going Gone" is definitely my fav off of this though! I am really glad she decided to have this track included on this CD. Thanks Gioia for an awesome release if you are reading any of this!
