Ok...Raven is back with another post (I normally wait until I think I have something good to say).

Now I know that to most people Freestyle is considered underground (believe it or not), but to the true Freestyle fan...it's as main stream as Rap, Pop, or R&B. Although this is true, I've noticed that most of the "True Freestylers" on here only talk about the "well known" Freetyle artists. How come nothing is really mentioned about L.A.W., Charlie Babie, Sonya, and many, MANY other less known artists?...Is it maybe because they are more local? I doubt it. So what is it?...well...I think thats all for now, till next time. Fu*k the Peace, just give me Life, Love, and Freestyle!


P.S. I just read over my post and realized that it sounds as if though I'm trying to "dis" peeps on here...I'm not!

well i think the reason is there are alot of artist out there that were freestyle but did not recieve the recognition like TKA safire..cynthia..latin rascals..george lammond ..e.tc.alot of records out there that were hot but were forgotten
 
Alright... Since I dont only listen to the legends..LOL..Lets talk about LAW...What other songs do they have other then Missing your love? And Intonation and Joee..Do they have there own albulm? And why is it that Clear Touch has there own albulm, but I only can find 2 songs!? That just gets me mad...But anyhows...I guess a lot of freestyle fans dont really get into those artists. I wouldnt really know cause im not them, but I myslef listen to all kinds of diffrent freestyle artists that some fans dont even know who they are! And that makes me proud considering my young age..😀..And orig..Did you just say LAW cant sing?...🙁..LOL!
 
Don't forget Science; their track Masqurade is the bomb!! After hearing them on Party931 in Miami. It shows that new school Freestyle can work on radio!!

I've been listening to freestyle since i was 13...i am 27 now!! shh don't tell too many people..lol
seriously though...in all those years..some of the best freestyle songs have come from artists that disappeared after 1 or 2 songs..
(In the name of love)...awesome song..but i never heard anything else from him after that..maybe that was micmacs fault
how about D'Zyre...(Forever amor), FACE (Forever Yours) EXO (Why did you do it) I am seeing a Mic Mac trend here...hmm

bottom line is the artists we call legends today are the artist that were out in clubs, pushing themselves..being pushed by thier label..& caught on w/ the radio stations. There ARE ALOT of Freestyle artist, as in any part of the music industry...not everyone can MAKE it.

pick up a Viper Compilation CD..anyone of them..they are packed w/ some good songs..some from artists never heard from before or again.

Support the genre of Freestyle...ALL the artist & thier work...!

Let the Legends do thier thing & cont. to pave the way so the new will have a place for thier music to be heard!
Some of those Legends are kicking ASS too..w/ some new stuff..this thing is about to explode AGAIN....

Yo Originator...You have got to be kidding me! L.A.W. and Charlie Babie cant sing!??!?! What the fu¢k, pardon my French, are you talking about!...No namers?...mannn come on bro, be real...! And Crystal, my dear Crystal, LAW had a total of 3 (known) songs and those were, One More Chance, Remember, and Missin Your Love. Mann....Orig, that pisses me off bro. To think that you're limiting freestyle to Safire, George Lamond, Tka, and other Mainstreamers. At least I now know why freestyle is fading away, it's because of people like you that make it seem as if though there are only five Freestyle artists in the world...

Yo, phillybronx...Kudos my friend, kudos. I couldn't have put it better my self, But just because they didn't make it doesn't mean that they can't be mentioned. I mean this is a Big Assed Site! Yet still no mention of the little ones. But I dunno...


On a lighter note: Don't You feel bad for him...====> :realsad Look at him all alone and sad. Looks as if though he's trying to decide wether he should jump or not...! Poor little guy.
 
Yeah Orgtnr1 I was surprised by your comment there! Sure there were some no-namers that couldn't sing they're way out of a paper bag...but some were good...better than the BIG name Freestylers.

Look at POZE off of Artistik records! He has no full-length album & hardly any, what you would call "hits", but homeboy can hit them high notes like a muhf*cka! Sebastian off of Metropolitan is another one that I constantly mention on this board....only 5 tracks (as far as I know) and maybe out of the five only two had some radio/club play (Santa Li & The Nights We Shared)! Yet homeboy had a thunderous voice that rivaled many of the "mainstream" guys!

I think we see Eye-to-Eye Raven! U wanna talk about the little guys...let's talk! I love the BIG freestylers, but they're kinda played out in my own mind! That's just me!
 
Yo Putana...I feel you brotha. I mean dont get me wrong the "big names" are good as all hell, but what about people like Nino - Insecurity?...or Romeo - All alone. Those songs were great. Sebastian with Santa Li, Jesus Christ that song is that jam and a half. Charlie Babie, I (being a guy) get tingles when I hear that song (dont tell no one that). Poze...OMG! Let me know....that song is the shit, as well as It's not over. And LAW...(which is a personal fav) all three of their songs were the shit, especially when Tim "Spinnin" Schomer remixed them, but no recognition made them fade away.

And to close everything off (on this post), I will leave you with some words of wisdom "I love the BIG freestylers, but they're kinda played out in my own mind! That's just me!
 
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Charlie Babie one of the Orignal acts from yesteryear 1987? I mean he was one of Babie and Keyes wasn't he? Playgirl? Secrets of Love?

another thing that is troubling is that not many people talk about west coast or texas freestyle artists. artists like Angelina, Kenny freestyle, Rosalinda, Sharyn Maceren.
 
Raven, i pretty much have an open ear and hear out alot of no name freestyle acts. And i'm sorry, but most of the ones I hear dont appeal to me. Even some in mainstream freestyle dont. I mean come on. You got to realize that this is the reason why freestyle has fallen. You cant limit yourself to liking some song just because its freestyle. You want freestyle rise up again, you must realize the problem and I feel that our world hasnt gotten a tremendous talent since George Lamond. You cant lie to yourself bro. Open your eyes and ears.
 
Ok, now im scared to answer this thread...LOL...I was just called Dear crystal, and I wasnt sure if it was meant to be nice or not. Oh well, anyhows....Do you know ROCKY where I can find that albulm? I found most of there songs..But still, I really want that damn albulm. And what the hell is goin on up in here? Alright, so you are tired of the LEGENDs or whatever, your right, thats your opinion. I have no problem with that. I myself love LAW (I dont care if anyone has a prob with that) and I also love my TKA and everyone else, but I dont expect anyone to say how sucky one is than the other...It just how I feel about that artists, and how you feel about them as well. Everyone should respect that...ok..sorry..Il just shut up now..LOL...🙂...Oh, and im not taking any sides...
 
Raven and PhillyBronx...I'm with you all the way. Some of my favorite freestyle comes from the ones who "didn't make it" like the mainstream artists...for reasons already stated by PhillyBronx. Most people never explore to find these artists/songs. Here is a quick list of songs and artists that should be explored and listened to...then decide...

Try to listen to some of those songs, if you can find them, and then comment on how good the "no name" artists are or aren't.
 
Oh sh*t! How bout Santa Li by Sebastian!? I have been looking for that song forever man, and I cant find it anywhere! Oh well, guess I should go to another section for that...lol...And Anthony..Hmmm...Do you know where I can find those? Im sure I would like em'..😀
