Okay so lets go down this road, Yes we all need to support Freestyle, But I agree with orgntr1. The quality of the artists were not that great. As to fault of thier own? Not really. It was the labels, And sure Metro, Viper,Taz & Mic mac put out some great songs, but they also flooded the market with factory line music. I think they made a software program "Freestyle Wizard" Enter title "Love______"

Basically The only love producers and manager had for the music was in the title or the chourus, not for the music. Again I says this as a DJ, a lover of the music and the greatness it should and can have If only greed doesn't get involved.

WELL, EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE IN SOME AGREEMENT. AGAIN, YOU MUST LISTEN TO SOME OF THE "OTHER" SONGS, LIKE I LISTED ,FOR EXAMPLE, TO REALLY JUDGE. THOSE SONGS WERE ON INDEPENDENT LABELS THAT NEVER STOOD MUCH OF A CHANCE FROM THE GET GO. BUT THATS DONE AND OVER WITH. THE POINT IS TO LISTEN A HANDFUL OF THEM BEFORE ANY JUDGEMNETS ARE MADE. EVEN SOME OF THE MAINSTREAM ARTISTS HAS SLAMMIN SONGS THAT NEVER BECOME TOO POPULAR...IN COMPARISON TO THEIR OTHER MAINSTREAM SONGS. ONE EXAMPLE WOULD BE THE SONG "I FEEL THE WAY U DO" BY NYASIA. "DONT BE AFRAID" BY TKA...THATS MY FAVORITE OF ALL THEIRS, YET IT ISN'T SPOKE OF AS MUCH AS THEIR OTHERS...."WHAT WILL IT TAKE" BY CYNTHIA....ANOTHER GREAT SONG BARELY SPOKEN OF....ETC ETC...SO, EVEN THE MAINSTREAM ARTISTS HAVE SONGS THAT DIDNT MAKE ALOT OF NOISE, YET WERE VERY GOOD. SO, CHECK OUT THE SONGS I LISTED THEN JUDGE.
 
True I do agree with you also. I find that underground artists put more effort in thier project because it may have been thier only project and they knew that going in. And as for entries from the other states, When I was with record pools that carried freestyle, well here's how it worked. The top djs in the pool who were mix show jocks or had major venues got the good stuff and the out of state stuff which did not come in much quantity they also got. But in any state there were good releases and bad releases and some that got no play but should've because they did not have the major label backing. Plus at that point in time radio formats were not all about pushing freestyle anymore and a mixshow jock could forget about "breaking a record" I think there is alot of talent out there but the music has to be taken seriously from the keyboards to the studio and to the club performance as well if we want to ever land Radio strong again. Not to hear just classics but to promote the new generation.

I heard that there is ALOT of good shit in the west. But I didn't know of any in Texas. Mannn...Originator, first of all I hope what I'm about to say won't get me Banned from the boards...the way I read it seemed as if though you tried to say that it is because of bad singers that Freestyle faded away....and to say that is, I think, wrong. But rather the reason that Freestyle has fallen is because of fu¢ked up and retarded assed Labels that gave untalented people the chance to sing and make a record. I'll be the first to say that Freestyle isn't JUST music...it's love, pain, anger, happiness, friendship, basically it's emotion. I mean I can't even explain or describe what Freestyle is to me, and I DO agree that there are some very "lame" singers out there, but the main point of my post was to find out why people don't talk about the "lil' ones". George Lamond...I think the reason why you're under the impression that there hasn't been "a tremendous talent since George Lamond" is because of the fact that many of the "what would have been" talents came on to the scene towards the downfall. As for YOU Crystal...I meant that in the sincerest way possible. If you need any songs (freestyle) you can download them from me, even though I don't have that many mp3's due to the fact that most of my stuff is on record, you're more than welcome. Tony...Nice...NICE list, great songs, I must say. As to you DjSun1ny...Agreed, thats all.

I feel all special now...LOL..Thanks Raven, and as to what we were talking about, I agree with Anthony. The legends of freestyle are only counted for the songs that always get airplay, those are the songs they are known for. But what happened to the other songs that they made on their alulm? Like TKA, with what Anthony said..."Dont be afraid" is my other favorite, whether its not getting much airplay or not. How about "cant help it" by TKA, I dont think I heard that at all on any of the mixes, but guess what, I still love it and count it as a legend. So what im trying to say is that, whether there are artists out there that dont get the credit for the music they make, whether you like them or not, the LEGENDS also have songs out there that get no damn credit that they should! So Im not taking sides..I love my legends, and I love the ones that arent...

Yeah...I know I know...and of all the things that could happen...The worst of all the worst has happend. You know how your work somehow finds out your cell number?...and they decide to call you and see if you wanna work for a coupla hours?...well, I was just WOKEN by one of those calls....I mean it's bad enough when they call while you're at the lake....or, str8 cruisin....but damn....WHILE YOU'RE SLEEPING???
