i just got a email from the DJ from 102 and he says freestyle is on the air from 8 12 mid for the back n the day dance party every sunday so with this going on is a good thing it will make peeps call and ask for it durin the day . i told ya i was not going to give up

wow!! it looks like my stations are jumping on the KTU bandwagon -

1067 jamz in San Antonio also has a freestyle show on sunday nites - 9PM - 12PM

That philly freestyle show has been on now for almost two months.Too bad they don't stream online. Now if only Chicago,Miami and LA could do the same then maybe the coorperate heads would take notice.

I think its great that Q brought back the Back In the Day Dance Party. They play A LOT of great freestyle tracks, and not just the stuff you hear all the time (Stevie B, Lil Suzy, Collage). I've heard Lisette Milendez, Judy Torres, Cynthia, TKA, George Lamond, Coro, Johnny O., Corina just to name a few. Diego, the morning show co-host who has been at the station since 89 (back when they played freestyle regularly), often is in the studio during the show and whenever a freestyle song comes on, he always says he loves that song. Also noteworthy, when Q102 plays a freestyle track on that show, they play an id that goes "Here's another freestyle flashback on Q102." Freestyle is still definately alive in Philly.

they were one last week and got alot of calls from people sayin play this song and that song and keep this show on the air so its about time freestyle is back in philly so i will be lisn while i watch my eagles win to go for the ring.

It's great that these shows are popping up but notice they're call flashback shows.Just like we had many disco shows on the weekends in the early to mid 90's.I also notice that many top 40 stations are having 80's weekends so it seems that our music is going throught the cycle. We really have to push HARD for these stations to play NEW freestyle. These freestyle falshbacks will die in a couple of yrs just like the disco shows did.

I concur with Ph@tbreakz. We do need push it in Philly. They always play the old stuff, like Micmac and Stevie B. I wouldn't mind hearing some Pure Pleazure or Denine up on there. 🙂

My girl listened when they first started this up. It's great to see it going on!
