Hmmm
Johnny, I just feel that the so called Freeestylemusic today is very emotionless both in the vocals and production.
My heart doesn't skips a beat when I'm listening to Robin Fox, Rockell, Freesystem or any of that stuff.
I don't even come close to the feeling listening to the artist mentioned comparing to when I heard let's say George LaMond, Sa-Fire, Reinald-O, Johnny O, Marshall Jones, LAW, Pure Pleazure the first time. I can still get chills from their songs even though I heard them soo many times.
95 percent of the so-called Freestyle today is too superficial and plastic, It doesn't come from the heart. It was just made for the money, It shines through in the music.
I played a couple of these Robin Fox, Free Systemish type of songs for my friend, who's been making dancemusic for a very long time. He just laughed at the production, "you can make this type of beat in ten minutes in a E-jay type of program" he said. Johnny, the sound hasn't progressed, progress means it gets better right? It has got alot worse in my opinion.
Ten years from now people won't remember Freesystem, Underdog Project, Alexia, Rockell or Robin Fox. By that time it's almost 25 years since Johnny O, George LaMond, Judy Torres, Cover Girls, TKA, Sa-Fire blew up, And I can tell you one thing, that Freestylefans will still remember them.
