ok DJ's this could be fun... even tho I haven't spun in a bit, I always remember those specific mixes that just "work"...
Let's create the ultimate never ending freestyle mix to keep 'em dancin' all nite... you mix in the next song... match up the beats & give as much detail as you want and most importantly keep em groovin'....

I'll start....

Gonna throw on Cynthia's "Change On Me", one of those intro's that when u hear it you get chills... in the middle of the 16 bar 2nd chorus gonna start Stevie B "Spring Love"... once I got the beats matched, during the next 8 bars gonna sneak in Stevie's beat, when Cynthia sings why why why into the break, Spring Love slams in, gonna let 'em both mix till Stevie's 1st verse starts... "I remember when we first started".....

so far we got:

"Change On Me" - Cynthia
"Spring Love" - Stevie B

aiight DJ spin that shit........ :dj
 
so right after the first chorus of "spring love".. the beat gets a little harder, then in comes the beat of the ULTIMIX of "expose - come go with me"

lotsa stutters.. COME GO WITH M-M-M-M-ME-E-E-E :lol
 
AHHH let's see here..

:dj Feeling Come Go With me..Grab Nina Bena's (He's my baby) start to beat match on the 1st phrase 1st beat..start to blend and bring in the song on the 8th beat 2nd chorus raising volume till transitions into 1 phrase drum beat has taken over (Feel the bpm's rising)


lol it's a lot harder to write it down than do it..lol
 
:dj DJ TWO TONE from the back in the days dusts off his old 1800 hundreds on his 1's and 2's and waits for the perfect moment...............and starts with "Take me in your arms"scratches the record and then bumps, Angelina "without your love" and then waits for the break to come and then slipts Spanish Fly "I can see" waits for perfect beat while bogging his head and then mixes "in a dream" by Josette waiting for the perfect beat, come on next DJ, put some groove in my mix and spin :sround that SHIT!
 
aha we're a bit more "uptempo" here I'm gonna stick with that but go old school and tease in Debbie Deb "When I Hear Music", I'll spin in the intro hook and then take it out back to Josette, I'll do that 2 more times & then Debbie Deb's 1st chorus slams in... "When I hear Music it makes me daaaannnnnccccccceeeee".......... :dj
 
How about all us DJ's create an actual mix and pass it around for people to add to? Whats a few mp3s among friends?

I have plenty of bandwidth and storage space ot host it if anyone is insterested?

Each person adds in one track at a time. You also must wait for the person before to add their part and psot up on here that the next person can go?

Whats your thoughts?

I thought about this more too. You would either need a TT to pipe into your computer or load the file up in some sort of editor(multitrack pref) to incorporate it in. You would have to fade out the previous one and fade the new one in.

You know we could (DJ's) always open the floor and do a colab where people request songs to mix btu the catch is every so often wed have to throw in an oddball like Im mixing planet rock and say lookout weekend then id have to throw in some bigband or some country or something?

Heh I just bought another 1200 from ebay. Soon as it gets here I will throw some stuff together just for fun.
 
Ok here is what I got so far. I put together a mix the songs so far. the last song I mixed in was clear. Nothing fancy just wanted to see how the songs sounded in order.. Damn I must Say you guys had me jumpin around the bpms where all over the place..lol this is hard work for someone who doesn't do this everyday..lol
