Look at other bands, their lead singers may have changed for one reason or another but they still perform and there are people that come out to see them night after night because they enjoy the show that the group gives them. Look at Earth Wind and Fire, The Commodores,The Temptations,etc. Look at huge Rock & Roll bands like Van Halen who in the past 20 years have had at least three different lead singers but still perform "ALL" the Van Halen songs and still headline and sell out arenas around the world. The current lineup known as The Covergirls are no different. They are three very beautiful and talented ladies that get out there night after night and work hard for the fans. These ladies are not fakes,they are The Covergirls!!!!
Just ask the fans that come see them and more importantly ask the man that owns the name of the group.

TOURBOSS, as I explained it millions of times before, Angel quit the group, twice.....as a matter of fact. Now, if anyone doesnt know the meaning of the word "quit", it means released from obligation, charge, or penalty If I worked for, let's say.....THE WWE and Vince Mcman gave me a "personna" and gave me a name. He would own the name he gave me. If I decided to quit, I would have no legal obligation to own the name. The only thing I would own is my voice and the name I was born with (and all other properties I owned before hand.

does anyone remember CHYNA? Do people recall how when she quit the WWE that she went around calling herself "CHYNA" at other events? Well, Vince took her to court and the court told her that she was no longer able to use that name because the WWE owned that name and she was no longer affiliated with the company.

same scenario with Angel. she quit the group. that means "NO MORE GROUP", "NO MORE PAYCHECKS UNDER THAT NAME". NADA. Now, why would anyone "quit" something and still go around saying using the name that someone else let them use? I just dont get it........

You are absolutely right! If you quit, usually it's because you aren't happy and no longer wish to be associated with that job,oganization,or in this case group. If this was the case, why still to this day when trying to get gigs use the terms "formerly of the covergirls,former lead singer of, used to be at one time, and blah,blah,blah,blah"? I just don't get it. If you quit, leave it all behind you. I don't know,does it help get shows by saying you used to be a part of something? Well, if you were so proud of it, then you should have stayed there! If it was that bad then why still associate that name with yours? And as far as being fakes, frauds, not the "originals",etc, it's just like you mentioned, it's all about who owns the name and that is Sal Abbatiello. So to all the club owners, promoters etc that get the nasty and threatening phone calls saying that they are booking "fakes and phony Covergirls" and to cease advertising and cancel shows or fear legal consequences, or "we're gonna come in and tear up your club"etc.,have faith that you are getting what you pay for which is in fact The Covergirls. If there are any doubts, I know for a fact that the name is owned by Sal and he has the paperwork to prove it. He has the right to choose who is in the group and fortunately he has chosen three ladies that represent that group in a professional manner at all times.
The Covergirls is a group that to me and I'm sure I speak for many, has represented talent, beauty, professionalism and dedication to their fans and that is what the current lineup of Evelyn, Lorraine and Sabrina bring to the group. And I don't think that there is a shred of evidence that can dispute that.
Does it mean the end of a group when the person who at one time sang lead in the group chooses to leave? I've never believed this to be the case. What about the other members of the group, the writers and producers who make the hits etc. All these people as a whole make up The Covergirls. Because one person decides to jump ship, it doesn't mean the rest of the crew has to sink. The Covergirls live on and the current lineup does an incredible job. And to all that read this, remember you heard it from me, 2006 will be an incredible year for The Covergirls.
I wish all a great New Year, and to the individuals who try to ruin what these ladies and all the people behind the scenes work hard for on a regular basis, the fans deserve better, remember that. The fans are first,because without them none of us would be working. There are no fakes and frauds in The Covergirls camp. The people pay for The Covergirls and thats what they get.

exactamundo! Yes, Evlyn wasnt the lead singer that bought the songs "show me", inside outside" and "all the glitters isnt gold" but she did bring us the hits "funk boutqiue", "wishing on a star" and "i still miss you". its very much like sammy hagar bringing us "Why Can't this Be Love" and "Feels So Good" . usre, its not "jump" or "hot for teachers" but sam had continued to bring us hits for the group for many years afterwards.

I spoke with RAY, the Covergirls manager and he had told me that Zachary's was packed that night. I guess someones desparate cries fell on deaf ears!


I dont mean any disrespect to Angel, either. I just dont get why she is trying to sabotage the group. She quit to go solo 16 years ago only to come back to Fever years later AND Fever put out her solo album to boot!
 
We all need to just focus on the future. Angel, with her group and shows and The Cover Girls (Evelyn, Sabrina, and Lorraine) with there new song and shows!! Why waiste time on would been, could of been, should of been or what once was! EVERYBODY NEEDS TO RELAX, RELATE AND RELEASE!!:sflower
 
I agree with you 100% Tank and that is what The Covergirls have been doing.Working hard, recording,doing shows etc. Doing everything that is expected of them.The unnecessary drama in no way originated on this end. And let me make this perfectly clear, The Covergirls camp will not sit back "relax" and stay quiet when others try throw salt on what this group has worked so hard for.

TourBoss, you are awesome! Evelyn, Lorraine & Sabrina are very lucky to have you in their corner! I hadn't ever even heard of the Cover Girls until 1991 when Evelyn joined and I fell in love with her vocals on "Funk Boutique". They've been my Fav since then. So for me there has never been any other Cover Girls without Evelyn.

I caught George Lamond and Cynthia's shows at Tribecca. She looks Hotter every year.. Homegirl doesnt Age man! Georege was called to the stage.. and that place was sooooo fckn crowded.. I noticed him making his way ... as he passed me.. I told him.. "Kick azz, bro..Do a good show".. He was like "Yeah, if I can ever get to the stage"... LOL

Thanx Danny, but the important thing is being positive and that's what the girls are all about as well as the people that are close to them. Just keep your eyes and ears open when it comes to this situation, and you'll see that this is a "drama free" camp. Thanks for all the support.
