The Gay Lord of Freestyle
Hello everyone!
Back in July, Proyecto1 posted about a tv show (CBS on Saturday night) called "Urban Latino" and mentioned that there was a connection between the show and freestyle.
I found the show's official website, and they have a survey you can fill out about what topics the viewers would like to see on the show. I filled out the survey and submitted it tonight. I've copied and pasted it here, and I'm hoping that everyone will follow the link I've posted. The link will take you right to the survey page, and you can tell them how much you'd like to see freestyle on the show.
Here's the link:

Here's my submission:
Hello!
Although I am Italian, I am a fan of Latino music, and of your show.
To me, it seems that whenever people talk of Latino music, they talk about the roots of the music, and jump to the recent "Latin Explosion" by discussing Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, and others.
It always seems that they forget that before that "explosion" occured, there was a latin explosion in the late 80's and early 90's called Freestyle. Artists like TKA, Sweet Sensation, The Cover Girls, George Lamond, India, Brenda K. Starr, Coro and others were all over the charts and radio.
I think that Urban Latino should give some airtime to freestyle. There are a lot of stories to tell: Clubs in the NY area are hosting "Freestyle Nights", Lisa Lisa was on Nickilodeon with a series called "Taina", Daphne Rubin-Vega (from Pajama Party) was in "Rent" on Broadway, George Lamond & TKA have joined forces to record new music together, Nyasia & Cynthia (both from MicMac Records) are working on or have new material out, BadBoyJoe just released his MegaMix Vol. 3 which includes a free "new school" cd, a 2 dvd set of freestyle music videos and interviews is being released in May, and finally, freestyle artist Judy Torres hosts a freestyle mix show every Sunday from 9-12 on NY radio station WKTU.
A search on freestyle music on the internet will show many sites dedicated to this music, like http://www.clubfreestyle.com .
I really believe that your viewers would enjoy seeing a segment on freestyle on your show. I hope you look into this suggestion.
