Okay, there has to be a song or a few songs that caught your interest in freestyle. Do you remember what they were? Mine are "Scars Of Love" and "I'll be loving you" My mom has a video of me dancing to scars of love when i was about 5 or 6 lmao :silly

lmao im not to sure but im guessing it was let the music play by shannon or stevie b's spring love hmmmm though i do remember that my first freestyle tape my cousin made for me had linear, coro, soave, stevie b, cynthia ann a bunch others that i cant remember and it was cuz of that tape i became obssessed lol

Hmmmmm.. the first freestyle jam i ever heard had to be Stevie b's spring love and safire's boy iv'e been told.

mine were, "Boy I've ben told" and "No reason to cry" I was hooked after that!

I was already spinning before anyone knew what freestyle was... so I'd say the first songs of the era I recall are

I Wonder If I Take You Home
Crash Goes Love
Jam On It
Picking Up Pieces
One More Shot
Release Yourself
IOU
Stop Playing On Me
Al-Naafiysh
Funky Soul Makossa
Funky Little Beat
When I Hear Music
etc
etc
etc

"Party your body" is an all time classic, thats what got me into freestyle. LOVE IT!!!!!!

Yes, definitely Party Your Body!!! One of the classics (along with "I'll Be All You Ever Need", "Don't Break My Heart" & "No Reason To Cry" for me) that marked the transitional period from early '80s breakdance / electro funk / hip hop freestyle to the '86 classic freestyle sound.

Of course I remember all those new sounds in the early 80's like Freeze and Alisha but it wasn't until early 86 came around that songs like "Facinated" and "I won't stop loving you" really dragged my ass away from losers like Michael Jackson and the like. The rest is history. Happy New Year!!

my very first ones were Point of No Return, and Because of You. years later when i really got into freestyle it was In Paradise then a lil bit later Change On Me and Endless nights
