:sosad i can't believe what FIFA soccer has become in today's world!!! it's so unfortunate that games of such importance as the PORTUGAL-KOREA match can be decided by a corrupt referee..... we played with 9 players and Korea played with 11, not fair and certainly not deserved... losing is part of the game but losing under these circumstances is disgusting and awful !!! it also goes against Fifa's so called "fair play" system... yaaaaa right, fair play??? not in today's world cups... i believe that Portugal has one of the best teams in the world and although they will not be in this years finals, they will always be champions in my heart and i will continue to support them faithfully through all the wins and losses that may come our way. Good luck to all the remaining teams in this world cup and i hope that whoever wins this World Cup, wins it without and stupid referee BS!!!!

Thank you Portugal for giving all the portuguese fans your all and for trying your hardest, you will always be our champions!!!

and the head of FIFA is the 1st non-european in FIFA history! so imagine how corrupt FIFA was before!

In Uni... I took a class on the world politics of soccer and FIFA...

FIFA governs all the laws of soccer and is the most powerful association of all world sports! Even more powerful than the IOC, b/c the olypmics were initially established for amateure atheletes. FIFA was established as a body to set a uniform book of rules for the sport.

The tournament known as the World Cup is governed by FIFA and the laws pertaining to the World Cup are political in nature. In that, Citizenship will come into play for the atheletes to compete in the tournament; and that is just the tip of the iceburg!

FIFA influences almost every aspect of life in some countries. i.e. Economics, Marketing, Political Relations, Organized Crime, etc...
 
wow man!! i didn't know it was that bad! i guess that just proves that the world cup is all corrupt and that the final was already decided before the world cup even began!! FIFA influences things like the economy, organized crime etc.... ouch!!! it's not hard to believe though! it's unfortunate that the beautiful game cannot be played for the sake of playing but instead it is played based on which team offers the most $$$$ and based on what team the heads of FIFA like the most... sad but true! it's a sad day for international soccer(football) !!!
 
this is BS ... Mo Mo... i never knew that... now that I do... it's like WHY BOTHER WATCHING IT ANYMORE? For me, there are still two reasons... one being SPAIN and another being BRAZIL. But i'm sure even these two strong yet unbeatable teams will go too...

i really dont think that its bs... remember when that colombian guy scored an 'own goal' vs the us back in 94? do you remember what happened to him? he got murdered due to organized crime...

people will still watch the sport, just b/c they enjoy the game! here in the us... baseball is all about the $$$ and is corrupt as hell! but i still by season tix packages...

Wait a sec, you're saying France didn't deserve the cup in 98? Cause I call BS on that, come on, they were a great team back then! This year they blew cause they didn't have Zidane from the start, and just couldn't gel when he came back! If they weren't good they would not have won Euro 2000 either. Brazil's a great team, but they were out played in 98. I hope they lose this year too, why, I hate most of the latin american teams for some reason (except Argentina). I love the style Europeans/Africans play though, just more fun to watch (well, except for the English teams, ie: Eng, Ireland). France, Germany, Senegal, Denmark, Netherlands etc are a blast to watch.

and yes i think Brazil deserved to win... France won the Euro, well woo hoo... seriously, i'm so fukin' happy for them... not... but Zidane is not supposed to be the only player on the team.

You guys are like family in here, thats soooooo cool.
Anyways, I feel ur pain guys, some of these calls from the referees are uncalled for.
It has totally become political now, at least in '94 there was some fair play, or maybe I was too young to notice but I heard no complaints.
The Korean/Portugal game kept me off my seat, it was probably my first whole game that I watched, pretty intense.
However, with Portugal 2 down, they still had a good defense team, I mean look how long it took Korea to make that goal with the 2 man out.
Just like you Potugino, I support my Greek team, hoping that one day they at least make it to the finals....lol

that korean portugal game pissed me off!!! with the korean team 2 men up... they should have killed portugal!

it proves that portugal should have advanced and is the superior team!
