Love is on her mind...

There are many good intros, but the best ENDING to a song has to be Safire in her sultry, sexy voice:

"Love is on her mind
But she's never gonna get it.
Safire's on his mind,
So she better just forget it!"
:safire :bayum

(*gulp* is it getting hot in here, or is it just me?)

I was the one who mentioned that in another post. For starters this is a cool thread. I second Anthony's "Out of Control" that has one of the most ass kickin intro's ever. The best belongs to my favorite all time jam..the 11 minute CluB cut of CbanKs "Perfect".
Radio rarely plays club versions in their entirety since everything is time sensitive on the air.Take the club version of "No reason to Cry" . That intro is a fine example of what another ClubFreestyle member and I have discussed as having what made the OLD school sound what it was. Can you hear the playing of one sound followed by another, and then another and so on until you literally have a shitload of sounds playing simultaneously. The same holds true for Perfect ....Truely amazing!! Is that classic Garcia/Molina or what!!!!?? The list goes on and on. I'm sure many of you will post other great ones too. :dancingb

Ahh I could go into a long spill about this but I'm too hungover lol

Anyhow just think of songs like Highways of love,Fantasy girl,First True Love,All of Judy's songs those are the original club anthems

It wasn't till early 1990 that House producers starting making songs that were 9 or 10 mins long. Now,this is the standard for any club song.Ironically, most freestyle songs now are not any longer than 5mins .Most are 3 or 4 mins long. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this picture?

My 2 cents..... sadly, you have to think of freestyle songs now as demos. Now I don't mean lower quality, lesser sound, or song, or production. I mean in theory. Short radio & album versions. When (and I mean when, not if) freestyle hits big again, you'll have every DJ & producer doing the long 10 minute extended club versions of the songs... just my 2 cents. 🙂

I think you might be right. Also, most people would rather here a short song and get bored easily with longer songs.

True, true... OTOH, personally, I LOVE extended club mixes. If I'm driving in the car & I'm listening to a sat nite dance party let's say, you'll hear the same house beat over & over for 15 minutes (one song tho). But as long as there are cool changes & cool sounds to go along with the pumpin beat!!! I could be boppin' my head for hours!!! (I'm asking myself, how can we achieve that with freestyle? It's a different thing than house!!!)

Hmmmm but did they have the same build up...I love how Garcia/Molina just added a sound piece by piece.

:yeah I couldn't agree with you more!!!

dreamboy dreamgirl
diamond girl (the chant and the splashing water)
anthony norris - just 4 you
elissa - who's crying now

to those who think long (the older!) songs are better, quality doesn't always get represented by length. you can have a 4 minute song thats just as good as an 8-minute one, thats why the 2 last songs of my choice are so recent, if the intro's all you want. thats my preference 🙂 somebody mentioned songs that just build and build on the beat and there's a change every 8 bars until you get the entire thing a few minutes later, i like that as well in a freestyle song. I like that sort of introduction, they use it as well with trance music (which i also listen to). it's one of the things that you just can't do with any other genre, which is another reason why dance music is so much better than the rest.

cOOL, i ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT i WAS THE oNLY ON E WHo NOTICED tHIS "BUIlDiNg up" OF BEATS......tO mE IT DEFINES freestyle.

I think it has to do with their Latin heritage.I have heard old Salsa music from the late 60's and early 70's and these song start out with one instrument at a time like the congas then hte bassline and then then horns...just like most early freestyle songs😉

Hmmmmmmm!

FAVORTIE INTROS WOULD HAVE TO BE:

BROKEN PROMISES-JOEY KIDD
LOUDER THAN LOVE-TKA
A DAY IN MY LIFE(WITHOUT YOU)LISETTE MELENDEZ
*****OUT OF CONTROL-CORINA*****

FUNNIEST****NOW AND FOREVER-NYASIA***"

"When I Hear Music"-Debbie Deb
"I've Been Thinking About You"-Jocelyn Enriquez
There are so many memorable intros that it's hard to pick just one.
