Ok, "Louder than Love" is approximately 122 BPM. I have never heard of a ballad being 122 BPM...it is only logical to think that at 122 BPM, "Louder than Love" is a Freestyle song, and not a ballad. The same goes for "Time after time"...it is a Freestyle song, well beyond the range of a ballad/slow jam.
 
I'm not into ballads. But if I had to choose one, I guess it would have to be Stevie B - Because I Love You.

I have to laugh, because Time after time, Louder than love, and Let me be the one by Expose are not ballads. It is plain and simple freestyle dance music.
 
HEY KENNY!!

I was recently at our local Rap record store and the owner has been getting rid of alot of his freestyle alittle bit at a time. I've found some really cool old vinyls and one was "Don't Be Afraid" with the B side "Someone In The Dark". I was upset when Side A skipped alittle but side B sounds ok and I LOVE the old pic on the record of TKA!!

I HAVE TO AGREE THAT TKA'S "LOUDER THAN LOVE" IS A BIT TOO FAST FOR A BALLAD, BUT AGAIN IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE ONE OF THE BEST FREESTYLE' SLOWS. HERE ARE MY TOP 5:

Hey Arturo, I'm not trying to be technical, but thanks for pointing that out about Louder than Love, it's just always been a slow jam to me, compared to some of the others. Maybe it's the piano in the front.

DJ Starr...the piano in "Louder than Love" doesn't make it a slow jam...the piano is used merely as an intro, just the same way that many other Freestyle songs use piano in their intro, such as "Because of You" by the Cover Girls, "Tonight" by Sammy C, and "Don't Break My Heart" by Safire...all of those songs are great Freestyle songs, and they are not considered slow jams, simply because they have a piano on the intro...
 
orginator u are right about the passing time song...i totally forgot about that one...the song is so true to life...thats the way i think of most relationships when they start...cause they will ALL END!!!!

ok one last thing...i dont know about u guys but any song i cant shake my ass to is a slow song....so louder then love is a ballad/love song!!!!
