ive tried napster..blubber..kaza..where is a site where you can download good quality freestyle ..where if i type freestyle in it doesnt give me a list of histories corniest mc disses?? some real shish?? somebody please inform a brother!!!

WinMX is a good play to get Freestyle. That's where I get the stuff I can't get at a "music store". There's a Freestyle chatroom called 729's Freestyle (something). Everyone there is cool and they're willing to share their mp3's. Stop by and check it out, or you can IM me and I'll hook you up. :switch

I'm not intentionally trying to be rude guys its just that all everyone say is "Keep Freestyle Alive!!!"
If you keep downloading illegal MP3's instead of just doing a little homework to try and find the stuff like on Amazon or actually contacting the label itself your just gonna keep it as dead as its been for the last 5 years or so.
Believe me i'm not a new jack Ive just moved on to other things yet freestyle has allways been in my heart.
Its just not worth it if no one is gonna support it for real.
I cant even convince people to release old stuff cause everyone is just going to these download sites.
All in all I apologize for my bluntness.
I'm just trying to say keeping it alive starts with you...
 
Machetebros, don't waste your breath. They don't get it (or don't want to) and never will.

They will download over and over, then bit*h when there is no more freestyle. If they had a clue as to what it takes to produce a song, that might help them. Let them produce a song, then let them watch these vultures file-share. THEN ask them what they think of it all.

I suppose it's partly human nature. Want everything and anything for nothing, while giving back little or none.

Again, they'll never get it if they haven't already.

Countless members at these sites, yet the same small group at all the shows. So sad. Some have good reasons, most have nothing but excuses.

Come on people, let me hear all you're little excuses now. 😉

Sorry all who are real, but this needs to be said from time to time. If you have half a brain, you'll understand what I'm saying.
 
I don't think there is anything wrong with file sharing. I mean I go out and buy freestyle albums/cd's, but I like to have access to it on my pc to burn my own "mixes" onto cd. I also sample songs on line because the way I see it why buy a crappy album for just one good song (even though I buy the album regardless of it's suckiness)? You can't tell me that you love every single song on every freestyle album you have. If you do, then more power to ya, but there's just certain songs I can do without so I will go and download the ones I do like, but whatever blah blah no one wants to hear that right?

Anyway as for shows I would love to be a part of the shows and all.....I've never been to one and it's a shame cuz I've been listening to freestyle for over 15 years........Sorry this got off topic. 🙁
 
I agree wit RockThisMami, what's so wrong with file sharing freestyle music....currently being out here in Europe, there's no place to get my hands on good quality music...yea, go to the record stores my A$$, I go to the record store and the brotha is like..."Whatta hell is freestyle man"??? That's why we need those damn mp3's...cuz the record stores here in Europe have NUTTIN!!!! No freestyle whatsoever!!!! Have some understanding all ya 'file sharing' haterz!! I'm OUT!! Pace!
 
See I try to stay away from saying things cuz peeps get all bent out of shape. It took me 7 yrs to get Safire's boy I've been told album and the same for Coro's and Nayasia's. It really is not easy and if it weren't for ebay I would have never found it. but I always looked on Ebay and never found it before. I got lucky. Try to look for Clear touch's nada comes up. Nasty Boyz nada. So instead of being rude and prude suggest something nice. I supprt freestyle in any way I can and any way that I am able. There are songs out there that are rare to find and sometimes the record label doesn't press it any more. What options are you left with? I as well go out and buy Cd's too. But like RockTM I sometimes get a crappy Freestyle Cd and all for one song. Which in turn I have to burn on to another CD so I can have soemthings that I like to listen to. I feel that as long as you not trying to get every song by down loading then It's ok to download extremely hard songs to find. Not everyone is gonna wait 7 to 10 yrs.

I would definitly go and buy a artist new Freestyle CD if and when I like the music and like the artist. If I think someone sounds corny I won't.
 
Agree Lamatrix 🙂 Thats what Im talking about. It took me a long time to find the CDs I have from the likes of Clear Touch, Safire88, Judy Torres Love Story, Nocera, Latin Rascals, Nyasia, Coro and so much more. You have to be constantly on Ebay with LUCK! And a wallet full of cash.

I just found out there was an extended mix of Latin Rascals It Must Be You!!! But on CD? I bet it's no even there so of course I downloaded it and hear it on my CD walkman. I'm against peeps who download new stuff cause that hurts the artist. Thats the way I feel. 🙂 I'm STRICTLY collector over here with a lovely Freestyle out of print original cd collection.

Anyways I don't need to defend myself here on CF...I'm cool and always am. 😀

I AGREE WITH BOTH PARTIES, AND MY REASON'S ARE AS FOLLOWED, IT DOES TAKE ALOT OF TIME AND EFFORT TO CREATE THE MUSIC AND MONEY TO RECORD THE VOCALS, AND IT IS A SHAME THAT PEOPLE WILL SHARE, BUT ON THE OTHER HAND IF AN ARTIST PUTS OUT AND ALBUM AND 1 SONG IS WORTH HAVING, I AGREE IT IS NOT WORTH BUYING THE WHOLE ALBUM, NOW THE QUESTION IS WHAT DO YOU DO...IF AN ARTIST IS CREATING AND PRODUCING GARBAGE THEN I FEEL THAT IS REALLY WHAT IS KILLING OUR MUSIC, BUT IF EVERY SONG IS LIKE A LATIN RASCALS SONG OR TKA SONG ,THEN WE HAVE A BIG BEEF, THEN YOUR PLAYING WITH QUALITY...
 
Look I know their are some true supporters out and about and I truly understand your poin, but so many people abuse the sources.
Those companies are making money by you downloading on their site. They make money with somthing they didn't even have any part of what so ever in making. I know that their are a lot of things that are hard to find like coro's album that is out of print.
I cant even get a copy from cutting themselves.
The aspect of crapy albums.
Nobody can say that they arn't out their. It is truly pathetic.
But keep in mind that as people just started making illegal copies and not supporting thats when all the crap came about.
I would love to spend some good quality time on making a Bomb of a freestyle cd but Ive gotta support myself. Honestly I would make more money working at Mc Donalds.
So what do you get?
A dead Genre of music.
Guys its everyones fault. We really gotta work together if this is gonna live. I love freestyle but I gotta eat too.
I bet all the abusers out their would really hesitate before telling an artist I just downloaded your sond for free on the web!

AND YES I AGREE PEOPLE ABUSE DOWNLOADING YOU DON'T DOWNLOAD EVERYTHING ONLY THE MUSIC THAT YOU CAN'T GET THAT ARE CLASSICS. IN ALL PEOPLE MUST CONTINUE TO SUPPORT FREESTYLE BY GOING TO THE SHOWS AND BUYING NEW MATERIAL BY THE ARTIST SO AS LONG YOU CAN DO SO FINANCIALLY.
 
im sorry but im not here to discuss the politics of the industry..im a busy man and come on here to play and relax..and if these sites exist where i can get free music then im making my own cds period..let the artist lawyers take it up with them.. i love freestyle but its just good music that i enjoy and dont feel the need to make it a crusade...at least im blunt and honest..
 
Thats what I'm trying to say Lamatrix. I know their are two sides to the story but people, have some respect and dignity.
Taezee these politics effect you every morning when that smell either smells like flowers or like crap.
But I guess your too busy for the love of freestyle right?
 
Also Taezee know that this is not personal. Your probably a really cool person. I mean you love freestyle right.
But their are many people that just don't get it and if I can use a gathering tool like the CF to voice my opinion and maybe get just one person to "get it" then Im happy.

its all good brother..i dont take anything personal..and i inderstand where youre coming from but why is it so easy to download free music? what rights do artist have?? and if its illegal then its in the same catagoery as the "do not remove tag under penalty of laW" on a matress when was the last time you heard of someone being prosecuted for that or recording movies?? if there is no enforcement then why even bother to make such laws??

To download a few songs here and there that are not new is one thing.

To ONLY download music is another. It's that simple.

I know of quite a few people who do nothing but download. That's what gets me pissed. Understand now? LOL
