Taezee-The laws are their but they are not enforced. The courts dont care about the music industry. Its easy to download music because the WWW is not really governed. I mean its just like those disgusting pigs who stalk underaged children on the web.
How the hell does that happen!
The web is a wonderfull powerfull tool that I personally would not like to be without. But along with it comes a lot of negative.
Right now the only true force against that negative is knowledge. Just like Aids. Knowledge is power. At that point it really just depends on the individual. They know what they are doing just like the stalker does. They are the one who need to sleep at night. This is not just all talk either.
Hopfully I can get some ideas that I have going and it will be much easier for all of us to enjoy the hard to find music that we love so much.
In the present time though I just hope I can get the knowledge out their.

As far as officials of CF voicing their opinions - great
But don't feel that CF is the MP3 police. Cause we are not.
We are just a club where people can share their views on
freestyle related topics.

In my opinion, I think that sharing files has good and bad aspects to it.

On the bad, the artists and labels that put out the music aren't making money to support freestyle. That can cost freestyle dearly. Perfect example, Willie Valentin and Marisol (Why Can't You Tell Me & The Begining Of The End) have both left freestyle for lack of support.

On the good, hard to find songs are now not so hard to get. I have no trouble giving out an mp3 as long as it is near impossible to find.

The thing is, if you look around, either on the internet or in stores/bargin bins, you can find freestyle.

I've always bought tape cassettes. Now, I am trying to get all my tapes on cd.....and to date I've found.....

One of the Nasty Boyz himself can't even get their own album.
He is grateful for those hard to get songs that can be downloaded.
 
I agree with Chuck D. They can actually help Freestyle by allowing many listeners to be introduced to songs that radio stations are not playing.Let's face it NEW SCHOOL IS PRACTICALLY INVISIBLE..at least here in NYC.
I for one use mp3's as a test, if I like the jam I must have the original which is far better sounding anyway. And 15 bucks here and there won't put me in the poor house.The fact is that through Napster I heard songs for the first time which I now own, but what others do is their business.So my stand is they can be good and bad.Good if you like to own originals as I ...or bad if you are satisfied with mediocre quality mp3's. What is worse though is the divide it makes among many members here and elsewhere.
