My bad, Akbar... no disrespect intended to either yourself or Adam Marano. As a matter of clarification, let me state that Adam Marano is, in my opinion, the undisputed heavyweight champion of the freestyle world. Adam is to freestyle music what the Dallas Cowboys are to the NFL... you either love him or you hate him... but you cannot fail to recognise his brilliance, his talent, or his contribution to both the art and the industry of the freestyle world. (Okay, and he has an amazing a** as well, but that's a whole separate issue...)
Your comments with regard to the impact that downloading music has on the industry were right on the mark; your style of expression mirrors Adam's own. It is well known that Adam Marano is brilliant and articulate, (if not always politically correct) and in that spirit, I assume you'll accept my previous remarks in the manner intended... lol

I would like to thank the wonderful moderators of this forum (AnthonyA1971 and Nyasia) for their support.

I am not here to fight with anyone. The point I was originally trying to make was in 2003, freestyle music is in a state of emergency (so to speak). If the fans continue to get new freestyle releases through free (and often times illegal) MP3 downloads or make cd-r copies of the latest releases from their friends, the financial future of our music will continue on it’s path in a downward spiral. A lot of freestyle recordings will never see the light of day because the artists, producers and record labels do not have the financial resources to release their new material. If the freestyle fans would buy the music instead of getting it for free, it could generate enough revenue to allow for other new projects to finally get released.

I agree with you on that AKBAR. I mean as much as I would love for things to be the way they were it's just not going to happen, because it will not only have to change here in NY but all over the states, and I dont' see that happening.

RichieFreestyle,

And without Freestyle labels & artists & producers & etc. there would be no freestyle music at all...just remember that too.
The professionals simply need money to live/survive...so the fans have to buy the products, especially if it's good. 😉

THank you Francis. because it does go both ways, there has to be music in order for you to be a fan. let's remember it goes both ways.

wow, looks like we're back at the mp3 issue!!! LOL
U see, in my opinion, mp3 file sharing should only be allowed by
the authority of te record lable/ officials. Other wise, if no one told you to give my music, to 600 computer nerds, then why are you doing it? Did i give u permission to make me loose money?
In the FEDERAL LAW, it states that DUPLICATION, PUBLIC DISPLAY, or any other means of unauthorized pubicity is ILLEGAL!
Dont give away music u had to pay for, unless, its available where people can get it free, and its authorized
Thats all i have to say on that!

I agree about supporting the music we love. I DJ but I do not go looking for freebies. That is not supporting this music or any other type of music. The only time I download music is when I absolutely cannot find what I am looking for online or in a store.

I read this post before and was surprised that someone would actually ask for someone to send an mp3 when the person who actually would be sending it, spent their money on it.

I constantly get people who want me to make them dance CDs for free after I spend all this money buying the music. If they want it, they need to buy their own. I am not getting anything out of it and neither is the artist.

I am not slamming this person but there are alot of people out there that only download music and think they are doing a good deed for the artist/song.

Ive got nothing but Love for Adam Marano and Mickey Garcia . Regardless who screws up their names LOL

Akbar had sone very valid Points .

😉
