I want a real tree this year so I may wait. But I also am having lots of family over this year 1st Thanksgiving in the new house. So I may want to put up the Faux one too. dont knoww....ah let me go listen to Paradise xmas mix then I may change my mind LOL

I've always liked putting it up before Thanksgiving. Because to me, it's a lot of work to put it together and decorate it the way you like just to have it up for a week and then bring it down. So I put it up before Thanksgiving and take it down the day before New Years Eve. I don't like to bring in a NEW year with the Christmas tree from last year. That's just me.

That's the difference of tradition in the States, in PR x-mas starts on Thanksgiving and ends on the third week of January (we celebrate The 3 MAGI or Three Kings Day (Epiphany) and then another week just to cool off, called LAS OCTAVITAS (8 days after The 3 Magi)!!! It's true):jiggy. so you have a lot of time to show off your x-mas lights and x-mas tree and party :aparty and drink a lot of coquito with Bacardi or RON CAÑITA(PRican mooshine).
 
Usually we get the tree either the weekend after Thanksgiving, or the weekend after that. BUT since I'm the one who decorates, it usually stays there undecorated till about the second or third week of December. I love decorating and I don't let anyone else do it, or else I throw a temper tantrum. LOL It just sits for so long, because the time they get the tree is my last few weeks of the semester and finals, so I wait till after that so I can relax and enjoy it.

As for coming down, we usually wait till after 3 King's Day, but I remember one year it was up till almost the 2nd week of February! LOL For a real tree, it didn't look too dead, but the damn needles! LOL

It's like RON CAÑA, but it's eleborated differently. MAMA JUANA is made of roots and cured with liquor. It's very strong, stronger than RON CAÑA.

I don't know much, but I remember my mother use to do it. Brand new RON CAÑA is cured underground using grapes and cheese and then you bury it under the earth for at least a year. It taste good. It's also illegal in PR. MAMA JUANA is not ilegal.
 
Im Puerto Rican and we call it Mamajuana. and we feed it meat while it ferments or so my family legend says lol

That's family tradition for ya :yeey. I love it, but I don't drink it much. Just on the Holidays, if I'm not driving :cheers

Coquito is da bomb and when I finally decide when to do the tree thats when I'll make coquito need to be merry to decorate LOL
 
we just bought a white X-mas tree for the first time........ the kids are excited & wanna put it up now but we'll do it the day after thanksgiving most likely........ 🙂

Mmmmmm nice! Now what colors are the decorations? Or is that up to the Mrs. and the kids? A white christmas tree will probably make the room stand out! 😉
 
I'm going with a fair pastel pink- goes with my Yankee Candle Mosaic Plate. not sure what other color

and I'm goin to go to Christmas Tree shops and get more orniments

Kim saw nice blue tinsel with little dreidels on it in the store that she wants to get........ then we'll probably put a ton of colorful x-mas lights & balls & stuff..... should be interesting!!!!!!! 🙂

I've heard of pink/purple and pink/blue. Just trying to give suggestions. I've never used those colors but it must look nice.
