Tradition in my family is to put it up before Thanksgiving and take it down Jan 7. It makes me sad to take it down cause I love everything about Christmas, especially the smell in the air, but at the same time its a symbol of a New Year so its all good.

I usually dont put mine up until about a week and a half before Christmas, and when I take it down depends on how "dead" the tree looks! LOL Usually it is when I cant stand cleaning up those little pine needles anymore or when I cant take the cat trying to climb the tree and knock off all the ornaments.

IN my house they put it up the night of Thankzgiving and we take it off also after the Three kingz day ......
 
Well this is a first for me because my 4 yr old is so aware that Christmas is close, has me decorating the house with all kinds of Christmas things. He is too much. :lol He's trying to get me to put the tree up and he begs, "please mommy pleeeeeeeeease". At first I was telling him soon. Now I just make up a thousand excuses but I'm running out of them. :lol

Usually we put up the tree on the same Thanksgiving Day (it's a PR tradition to put up the x-mas lights and the tree) while the turkey is roasting and when were done putting up the tree, then we feast.

It's a nice family tradition.

Well since I'm usually the one that does all the cooking, I can't put the tree up on the same day. It would be too crazy for me. :stoned But I like that idea. 🙂
