I wanted to let everyone know that I just completed a new freestyle single for Christine Turner called “For You.” I decided to take a temporary break from creating dance music because the market is in bad shape right now. My last dance release was a remix for Xtreme Records on Peter Presta Featuring Jana’s “Do It Mr. D.J.” Christine and I have achieved great success with freestyle in Germany. Her last song “Lost in Love”, which some of you may remember form the Artistik Freestyle Parade Y2K, was licensed to 7 different CD’s and counting, in the European market. This upcoming song “For You” should also be released shortly in Europe. I am looking for a U.S. label to release the song, so if anyone reading this is interested or knows anyone that my be interestd, please contact me at inthemix@att.net or post a reply. If the song is not released in the U.S., the only way it will be available is on European compilations. Christine’s discography is below:

Most of the well known dance labels (i.e. Strictly Rhythm) have gone out of business, sales have dropped to almost nothing do to downloading and the resulting rise of hip-hop, budgets have dissapeared, most of the top notch remixers are no longer working. After I completed my Jana remix of Xtreme, I was told by a well respected veteran of the business that I handed in pure perfection, and if the mix didn't make me a household name as a remixer than it was time for us both to quit the industry. Well, the record did not do very well and I have a stack of unsigned dance songs, despite releasing several records that had alot of mix show play.

Its not a new song... its old about 4 years old... So its more of a remake...
Its a great song atleast the original is... How much did you change it CHRIS?
Remember Publishing.....

I don't consider it a remake. It is the original music with the artist originally intended to sing the song. It started out as an instrumental I created in early 1997. I then wrote a melody for the chorus and some of the words. It was then turned over to Vanessa Conde who wrote the remainder of the song and touched up the choruses. The song was to be Christine's first release on Pryme Tyme Records in 1998, but I will not get into it any further. It will come out now.

I don't know what deal you had with Vanessa when you produced it. But I have Sal Chisari down and producer and Vanessa as writer in my paperwork. Plus I own publishing rights to the song. Thats why I ask if it was a remake..
Maybe you should email me so we can talk about this.

EDIT: I got your PM I will talk to you there...

Speaking of hip hop, Talib Kweli has a new song out, called "we got the beat". Other songs that can be mixed into this:

"here we are" - Ashley......

....o.k., I think most of you get what I'm trying to say here.
