There are already songs like this!

I am into all types of music. Freestyle being my passion but in listening to other music I have noticed there are a few Christian artists that have freestyle backbeats singing about love, be it Christ's love but hey its love in the form all us freestyle listeners remember in the the classic heartthrob songs of freestyle. Some Christian frestyle songs are: Jaci Velasquez - Everytime I fall, Rebecca St. James - All Around Me... I am sure others are to follow.

Wow I am so happy to hear that! I have been listening to Jaci since her first CD and have all of them. Her spin on Christian music is refreshing. About 3 years ago I took a change in my life and began listening to Christian music but found it difficult to found music that I liked, with a good beat. I am so used to merengue, salsa and freestyle that turning to the slow hymnal styles of alot of Christian music was a shock (alot like moving to the deep south.) I hope that these artists will be able to take from Freestyle and expand it into their music. It would be nice to hear it. And it wouldn't be a far stretch since freestyle is all about love and Christian is praising our Lord and about love also. Hmmmm........maybe this is something I can get into and try to "discovered" and fulfill my dreams of singing along with taking God's word with me................yipppee!!!!

The christian music market Is the perfect way for freestyle to gain exposure. That is a market that is always open to new styles..not like secular english music that wont promote music if it sounds to different. They are very open to new styles much like the latin music market is.

Jaci Velasquez and Rachel Lampa are incredible vocalists!!But They have never recorded anything that is 100% freestyle. But they def have the rhythms..especially Rachel's "Live for you".

If you want to hear christian music that is 100% freestyle then Yall should check out "you are my hiding place" from nitro praise 3, The freestyle remix of Crystal Lewis' "I now live" from the Essential collection CD, and Out of Edens "greater Love" or maybe even "Window"
These are great songs, very passionate.

That breaks song by Plummet "Damaged" is actually a remix of "Dammaged" by Plumb, An alternative christian band.

Also, 3n1's 1997 song "how can I live" was christian.

Peace people😀

Im Sorry...But I Highly Doubt This Will Happen...
1st...Im Not Catholic
2nd...Im Not Converting
3rd...I Dont Listen To Gospel Or Any Form Of Religious Music.
Thats Good For The Tazmania Dudes...Good For Them...No Way In Hell Am I Singin About Religion...sorry 😱

I have to agree with Elear

ok their might be a possibilty that a small pocket of this religious style could arise..but i dont see it spreading to the rest of whats left of the main Freestyle genre. No way! In fact that would completely kill freestyle as it's known.

I don't think that Christian music will take over freestyle, but it's nice to see that freestyle is being used in other forms of music. It's nice to see that people are giving it a chance. I don't think it will take over freestyle because just like any other secular type of music, it has to be something people want to hear Christian music is just that, Christian music. Hardly do you hear a Christian song make it on a regular radio station. At least here in Mississippi, the station I listen to every once in a while throws in a good jammin' Christian song (Mary Mary's Shackles, Praise You). But alot of people don't listen to Christian music because of the messages it sends, which is praising the Lord, and with freestyle, it's all about love, heartbreak and just a good ol time. Freestyle won't lose that. Heck, freestyle has a hard time as it is trying to break into the mainstream again. I wonder what magic it was that had it on alot of radio stations and the billboard charts, that magic is gone, in the sense that many people aren't giving it a fighting chance anymore 😡

Im not saying it would take over the freestyle music scene. All I was saying was that it would give freestyle good exposure. If a christian freestyle album is pu tout it will seel better in the christian market than in the secular market for the simple fact that christian artist are constantly going gold and platinum jsut from sales in their own community. The market is huge and there always embracing new ways to praise God. Now it may not appeal to you..but I guarentee there sales would be phenominal.

Also, I dont see how it would kill freestyle..christian hiphop, rock, house..everything has been made and it has not killed those genres.

religious freestyle music could definately be pretty kewl. 1> it's always good to get a positive message out 2> it would be different, and different always gets attention!

Put me down...johnnyO

I have a song already recorded called "Did you" It is about God's love to everybody and it is Freestyle and it is awesome. I love it and of course I listen to many kinds of music but I have a special place for many Christian music artists. I love the Group Plus One, and True Vibe is very hot there are many others but I love them the most. Katinas are good too!

God BLess this is one avenue that I want with all my heart to enter.

Here's my two cents worth....Christian Music has lots of artists from different types of music.....from Rap, Hip Hop, Rock, Heavy Metal, etc......They will do their music and wonderful lyrics but they won't make it anywhere BIG in the charts nor will they make an impact to Freestyle unless they do what groups like Creed, Amy Grant, and Sister Hazel did....get out and go out into the pop industry.

Yea Johnny O I would love to hear it too 🙂

I believe the new Johnny O hit song is going to be really great!I will definetly support it!Thank you for your post Johnny O!Christian music artists sell millions of records, win Grammys, perform in night clubs, churches, stadiums aswell as perform and tour with mainstream pop acts! Here are Christian music groups that perform Christian music and secular music, these are Christian artists that have crossed over and sell millions of records they include Latino rap legend Vico C,Rock legends U2,Latin music superstar Jaci Velasquez,Teenage dance diva Rachael Lampa,Rock superstars Blessid Union Of Souls,Gospel superstars Kirk Franklin, the legendry Bebe and Cece Winans,Female singing superstar Crystal Lewis, music superstar Amy Grant, rock stars Creed,MTV rock superstars POD,Latin pop superstar Yuri, country music legend Randy Travis,Freestyle music superstar Johhny O,multimillion selling atists DC Talk,Newsboys,Yolanda Adams,Mary Mary and Christian rap superstar T-Bone!Christian music worldwide it sells and very well!Latino music and Christian music have been the fastest growing music groups in recent times and look at the sales records and you will see why!GOD Bless,Omar 😉

Well as Omar just posted, These artists are making it big in the charts. And its not even necessary for them to cross over and do secular music to get noticed, DC talk has a few platinum albums and they never strayed from a christian theme in there songs. Same with Jars of clay, and many other artists that are charting just because of phenominal sales within the christian community alone.
