Hey does ANYONE know if this is going to be available to buy and when...download the old stuff.
Where the hell is the information on this product LOL...sorry guys I honestly feel that we are hurting the smallest genre of music the hardest by downloading new music from our freestyle artists.
thanks Loco. I just wonder if anyone bothered to email Globestar and inquire about the song and it's remixes? It seems to me if they saw they had enough interest and it would make some money and generate interest, they'd release it as a single for the rest of us 🙁
wow - it never occur to me to email globestar. i will give it a try. at this point, since the song has already been out for a while, it may make no sense. but dammit, i will give it a try!!
Yes, Chris sent me his mixes and they are awesome as well. Sometimes we have to do what we have to do, i.e. download, in order to get the music we love. The fans can't be faulted for labels not commercially releasing their product.
i can kinda understand what you say ivan. i would prefer to give safire a sale. as i believe it takes a lot of hard work and long hours to record music, and the artist deserves every penny.
I totally agree with you. If a single were to become available, I'd be out there buying it. In the interim, though, it's nice to be able to download what I can't buy commercially.
Ivan I'm not arguing with u there at all. If it's not available, isn't coming out, out of print and otherwise unobtainable and you really really have to have it ok as long as u don't sell it in a bootleg mix down the road.
But if people don't tell the labels they are looking for it...aren't we just contributing to the label not knowing and the artists and business people behind it thinking none of us want it so that stop making it?
Loco I'm glad u are gonna email globestar and ask the question first. To me that shows what an awesome fan someone is instead of taking the easy route and d/l'g it and maybe at some point finding it for sale.
loco69 how nice of u to say that! (are u a m or f? we could be in trouble there LOL)
Chris now that doesn't even make sense to me if they asked for a remix and never told u the deal...someone is sleeping.
But heck I've liked a number of your tracks and would love to hear more of your work. I'm not a fan of covers but I liked this one and would like to hear yours.
I knew you weren't arguing with me. 🙂 I think that part of the problem, from what I hear, is that record labels don't make any money releasing singles. They say the costs of doing the mixes, artwork, pressing CDs, distribution, etc., cut into the profits and they don't make any money. Singles used to be released to help drive album sales, but the labels say it doesn't work like that anymore.
I'm all for singles being released, but if you go to the local Sam Goody (which is where I'm forced to browse most of the time), the singles section is a big, sloppy mess, with nothing interesting on the racks. It's a crazy situation, but we can only hope that a singles market will, once again, prevail.
So you say that singles cut into profits and thats why they dont want to release a single...ok, well that makes sense... but what I dont understand is how come they haven't made a follow -up single. Many people on this site have expressed how much they like "Eyes of a Stranger" , so how come Globestar hasn't made an effort to get radio play and release a new single. After the success of "Can You Stand The Rain", I would think that they would be thinking of what to release next but I guess they dont think like that. It gets me so mad. This is why I'm sorry to say and this might be my opinion, but I dont think Freestyle Music will ever truly make e it to the mainstream again. As long as we companies dont build on what they already have, then I dont see how this is possible.
