Going through all these different topics, I'm amazed to see that I'm not the only one still listening to Freestyle music and LOVING IT.

I've been calling KTU (since yesterday, because I have to admit, I didn't do so before) requesting Freestyle music because I read it some place here that no one is doing so... SO, let's get the ball rolling and get our music on the radio.

I listen to Latino Mix at noon for their Freestyle Flashback and now I'm hoping with enough of us calling KTU, they will get the picture and maybe {{{crossing my fingers}}} they will do the same thing every day too. (didn't they do that at one time?).

Let's do this.

Lots of Love,
Gina

The radio stations are put in a tough situation because if they play freestyle, they usually only play the mainstream freestyle songs that were a "hit" a decade plus ago. With the exception of "I'll Always Love You" by Nu Image, there aren't too many good new freestyle songs out there that truly deserve airplay (You guys better thank your lucky stars that Latino Mix is willing to take a chance on stuff that would otherwise never see the light of day on New York radio airwaves).

I haven't heard a really good new freestyle song in years. Radio can't support a genre that produces weak material. If the music becomes stronger, both musically and vocally, then and only then will radio take heed to the freestyle community's cries.

Just for the record, Willie Valentin has produced some great tracks in the past 5 or so yrs. I don't think it's fair to say that there has not been a real good freestyle song in years. Willie Valentin has come out with some great material, not to mention one of his artist-POZE, "come back to me my love" was an extreme track. This song was so good in my opinion. AKBAR, I'm not trying to start anything, this is your opinion and this is mine. But if we are all "FREESTYLE FANS" in here, lets' support the STYLE. PEACE...........

Thanks Akbar... =)

I know what you're saying, and thinking back to something I just read that Tony of TKG just said makes me think.... will there ever be new "GREAT" freestyle music again? He spoke about not singing another Maria or Tears May Fall songs because the fans would want to see them grow so they are taking another direction with their music. HELLO.... does that mean abandoning Freestyle Music? I might have misread it, but that's what my interpretation of his interview was.

Anyway... I'm hoping we try to at least get an hour of their day to play Freestyle Music. Not for nothing, when I turn Latino Mix on at noon, there are sooooo many songs I've never heard before and I always considered myself a true freestyler. lol

=)
